If you want it for commercial use, then think again. Broilers are the way to go for now because of the cost of feed and the duration needed to run them.

I bought two 13 weeks bta chick broilers from my neighbourhood on Christmas eve and their weight were about 4.8 and 5.2kg.

When undressed, the weight was about 4kg and 4.4kg approximately. Noilers will take donkey weeks to reach that type of size.

Bta (Blessed Tunike Agroallied) farms is not a household name but their chicks mature at 6 weeks with weights over 2kg. The person fed them Top feeds with onions/garlic in their water. Multivitamin was also used to increase their appetite.
i appreciate ur good advice. I knw dat broiler grow faster than noiler bt marketing should be put into consideration, i'm nt leaving in a city like state capital what interested me in noiler is that it can be sold to a local market, i knw a guy who used to raise broiler for this festive period he wl have to engage all his family member to help him market it which i dislike so that is the major reason y i'm going for noiler.

At 8 weeks, I get about 1.6kg on some of my noilers but some are like 800g.
That's great. It is really just that difference in size that is the big problem with Noilers.

I also noticed that broiler finisher increases the weight when compared to chick mash and grower feed.
Ofcos.

Pictures of my 11 weeks Noilers weighing average of 1.8kg. Sorry my phone camera is not so sharp, but if you look well, you would see the chickens weigh pretty close to 2kg.

My next mission will be getting Noilers to 3.5kg in 14 weeks.

My noilers hardly stay quiet like yours here. cheesy Very hard to take their weights with the camera. My wife will place them on the scale while i try to take the shots with a camera and in a second or two, they have jumped off. cool

Haha! Same with mine. It took me and my bother several minutes before we could take the pictures. You can see my brother's hand ready to catch them as they jump off the scale in some of the pictures.

evening house.
raised some noilers myself, hundreds of them like that.
to the best of my knowledge. i dont think they fall into category of birds farmers will make money as such.
they eat as much as broilers, really! and the FCR is way less than that of broilers.
-one will wait for almost 16 weeks to raise some perfect birds for what?
-another issue I've got as to that, the birds are not really known that well. so it's hard fpr customers to buy them. I'll selling the females as old layers, that's what I told folks. they are old layers, buy n go.
I've heard folks saying they are cockerels. they are untested ground n people don't really know them at allllllll(end buyers, not fellow farmers).
the only advantage I've got is that they stood out. one get to see broilers in their thousands at the market but only a few noilers.
Very true. People don't really know them. I tried to explain to some market women that they are a hybrid...like a cross between local chickens and Broilers, it was like I was speaking jargon. They thought some of the Noilers were local chickens, they thought some were Cockerels, and thought the females were old layers. I just left it at that. It can be frustrating. I think the best thing would be to sell it killed and dressed to frozen food people or restaurants who buy per KG.

Broilers are more acceptable than Noilers. If it was just about business and money, I would not even touch Noilers at all...it is just cos they fascinate me. People don't even know what Noilers are at this point, so they price them very low cos the chickens look like local chickens.
