Ex Chelsea Coach – Chelsea Can’t Cope Without Moses, Easy To Cope Without Costa & Kante

Former coach of Chelsea Ray Wilkins says Chelsea will find it hard to replace Victor Moses if the Nigerian picks an injury or suspension during the course of the season.

The Blues have copped very well in the absence of N’golo Kante and top scorer Diego Costa but Wilkins believes if Moses goes off the team, they will find it hard to replace him.

Moses has reinvented himself as a wing back for the Antonio Conte table toppers, and has been ever present since the team switched to the 3-4-3 system that has helped them win 12 consecutive games.

”Easy to play down the importance of Victor Moses but when you look around the squad, he is one player who appears not to have a replacement in the team at the moment”, he said.

”Diego Costa and N’golo Kante are players you think they can’t replace but in the squad they have players who play similar role as them, so easy to replace them unlike Moses”.

Nigeria Coach To Chelsea – Give Him A Chance, Omeruo Could Be The Next Victor Moses

Former Nigeria U-20 coach John Obuh says Chelsea loanee Kenneth Omeruo has what it takes to play for Chelsea, after series of loan spells outside the club.

Obuh coached the Alanyaspor on loan defender during his formative years as a sixteen year old for the Nigeria U-17 that finished second at the World Youth Championship in 2009.

The coach believes he has grown in leaps and bounds since his days as a 17 year old with experience in three different leagues in addition to playing at the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations.

”All he needs is a chance just like Victor Moses, we all saw how he was sent on several loans but finally got his chance under Antonio Conte, and he is making his mark”, Obuh told Owngoalnigeria.com.

”He is very good in playing several roles, due to his training as a full back before he finally settled for a central defence role, you also have to know that he is very comfortable as a defensive midfielder”.

New Song For Iheanacho By City Fans – He Rarely Plays , He Often Score ….

Fans of Manchester City have formed a new song for their Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho after he came off the bench, and scored in their 3-0 win over Hull City.

The away fans were giving a huge relief when the Nigerian scored City’s second goal to put them two goals ahead, before a Curtis Davies own goal wrapped up a comprehensive win for the former Premier League kings.

Manager Pep Guardiola has so far not given the Nigerian playing time as expected by many, even when top striker Sergio Kun Aguero was suspended for five games.

Iheanacho’s goal which has made him the striker with the best minute to goal ratio in the history of the Premier lead to the fans singing out his name, while questioning his lack of playing time.

”He rarely Plays, He often Scores, He Is Iheanacho, He Just Scored Again”, they sang at the KCOM Stadium.

Iwobi’s Rise Has Affected The Confidence Of Oxlade Chamberlain – Ex England Youth Coach

Former coach of the England U20s Stuart Pearce says Alex Oxlade Chamberlain run of inconsistent display for Arsenal was caused by the emergence of Alex Iwobi.

Pearce while speaking on rumours linking Chamberlain with a move to Liverpool on SkySports Premier League Watch urged the forward to stay and fight for his spot in the team.

Chamberlain is the most substituted Arsenal player in the last 18 months, and while Pearce acknowledged the fact that he has all rights to be unhappy, he also believes that Iwobi’s emergence has not helped the English man.

” He (Chamberlain) is obviously talented, I want him to stay at Arsenal and develop further under the guidance of a world class manager in Arsene Wenger who knows his abilities”, Pierce said.

” You have to feel sorry for the young man as he has had fitness issues which has enabled the likes of Iwobi to move ahead of him in the pecking order at the club.

” His confidence took a big hit by the emergence of Iwobi who has broken into the first team during one of Chamberlain’s numerous battle to be fit. Now when he plays he is under pressure to reclaim his spot”.

Hughes: Stoke Can End Chelsea’s Winning Streak, I’m Happy For Moses

https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/image-65.jpeg

By James Agberebi:

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes is backing his team to halt Chelsea's winning streak, reports Comple tesportsnigeria.com.

Since losing 3-0 to Arsenal, Chelsea have won 12 straight games in the Premier League.
The Blues are currently top of the English Premier League table.

"They're very strong at the moment. They have a formation that they find is working very well for them," Hughes said in Thursday's press conference.

"They have a manager who has good experience. He's gone in and implemented his plans very quickly.

"They're on a great run, but that has to come to an end at some point. Why can't we be the team that does that.

"We're more than capable of getting a result. We showed for the first 30 minutes at Liverpool that we can be a threat.

"Goals change games, that happened at Liverpool, but we need to learn to control games for longer periods and remain positive.

"Playing the top teams is always tough. I'd rather set up and be positive to try and affect teams.

"We've lost games where we should have done better, we've had games where we've overachieved, we're certainly progressing."

Hughes went on to praise Victor Moses, who played on loan at Stoke last season, following the Nigerian star's impressive performances for Chelsea this season.

"I'm pleased for him, he's doing very well. He had a good period here, gone back and is reaping the rewards at Chelsea."

Super Eagles' Coach, Gernot Rohr, will be present at the 2017 Africa Nations Cup slated to commence in Gabon on January 14, to monitor Nigeria's Group B opponents in the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers, Cameroun and Algeria.

Officials of the team told The Guardian yesterday that the German decided to be at the African championship because most of the best players in their various teams would be present at the tournament.

Super Eagles' Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, disclosed that Rohr wanted to be in Gabon to see for himself how the teams would play given that most of them would have at least two weeks training before playing their first games in the competition.

He added: "Watching the two teams and other African sides in the tournament would also give the Eagles' boss a clear view on how to build his team for future continental engagements. But he would return to Nigeria for the Glo CAF awards."

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick, has disclosed that a concrete sponsorship package for Rohr will be finalised by April.

Pinnick admitted it has been difficult to pay Franco-German Rohr his $47,000-a-month salary, but the NFF remain up to date on the payment."We are not owing him (Rohr). We are struggling but we are paying," he said on a television programme yesterday.

"By April, March we will have something concrete (sponsorship) for the Eagles and other national coaches."Questions are still being asked how the cash-strapped NFF have been paying the coach, particularly as the identity of the current sponsors remain shrouded in mystery.

Former Gabon, Niger and Burkina Faso coach Rohr has posted a perfect record with Nigeria after his first three matches in charge of the Super Eagles.

The Eagles are now top of the 2018 World Cup qualifying group with six points from two matches, ahead of Cameroun (two points), Zambia (one point) and Algeria (one point).

FIFA Remembers! Stephen Keshi…Astute Nigerian

2016 has been a very difficult year for Nigeria football both on and off the pitch. From the painful scenes in Lagos of a promising Flying Eagles team fall to Sudan and news of the Eaglets dumped out of the race to reach the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.

Among other things the power tussle and internal wranglings among the top guns of the NFF; rocking the boat, almost capsized what is now a battered vessel trying to make port.

But above all nothing could have been more devastating as the news of the death of Stephen Okechukwu Keshi on 7 June.

His death followed, days later by that of Amodu Shuaibu, ripped something essential from the football fraternity at home and abroad.

The significance of Keshi’s passing may not have struck home immediately, but it resonated and as the world mourned it became clear that not only had the Country lost a hero or former Captain; Stalwart on and off the pitch, an African Colossus and global Son had passed quietly.

On Wednesday, football’s World Governing body,FIFA , remember its fallen Stars in 2016, and here’s how they captured the memory of a Footballer that should never fade.

” Very few football observers foresaw Nigeria’s victory at the 2013 CAF Africa Cup of Nations, but Stephen Keshi had other ideas, steering his side to the final, where they saw off Burkina Faso 1-0 in Johannesburg.

A few months later, he led the Super Eagles to the 2014 World Cup after successfully negotiating a tricky two-legged play-off with Ethiopia; at the tournament proper, they reached the knockout stages.

During his tenure, Nigeria also participated in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup. But the astute Nigerian was not just a talented coach: during his playing career he also lifted the Cup of Nations and took part in five qualifying matches for USA 1994, which resulted in his country qualifying for a World Cup for the very first time.

At the tournament itself, he was restricted to one appearance – where he proudly wore the captain’s armband – due to injury.

Keshi died on 7 June 2016 in Nigeria.”

and the shortchanging game continues...

Sand Eagles plan 2017 beach soccer boycott

Idris Adesina

The national beach soccer team are heading for a showdown with the Nigeria Football Federation after the NFF alletgedly shortchanged them at the end of the Lagos 2016 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria lost 8-4 to Senegal in the final of the December 13-18 tournament at the Atlantic City in Lagos.

However, the Super Sand Eagles qualified for the Bahamas 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup along with Senegal.

Our correspondent learnt that the players had expected to be paid at least $1,000 ($3,000 each for winning three games) win bonus by the NFF but were shocked when the federation paid each of them N500,000, including camp allowances, for their efforts.

It was learnt that the team had wanted to boycott their semifinal match against Morocco, but the NFF’s NFF vice-president, Seyi Akinwunmi, pleaded with them to play the game.

Sources close to the team told our correspondent that the players, who are angry at being paid a pittance, would boycott the World Cup unless they were sure of getting “something reasonable” for representing their country.

“It was really a national sacrifice that the beach soccer team made to qualify for the World Cup,” one of the players, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told our correspondent on Wednesday.

“The conditions in camp cannot be described because we didn’t even have access to the competition ball and other necessary kits. We were treated like orphans in our camp in Badagry (in Lagos) for more than five weeks.

“Our first touch of a real ball was at the COPA Lagos yet we didn’t even complain. Some journalists visited the camp but we told them that everything was fine because we hoped that the NFF would do us well if we got the World Cup ticket.”

The source added, “As of today, the NFF is still owing the coach (Adamu Ejo) and he isn’t even complaining. When the competition began, we were not told what we would be paid. We were just told to go and play.

“All through our camping, not a dime was paid to us. We wanted to protest before the semifinal against Morocco but Seyi Akinwunmi pleaded with us to get the ticket for the World Cup and promised that they would settle us.”

It was learnt that the NFF gave each of the players N50,000 as transport fare to return home, promising to paid them their entitlements later.

Another source said, “But we later got alerts of N500,000 each, which wasn’t even explained.

Some of us asked why we were paid such a little money, but we were told that was what the federation could afford to give us.

“But the players have decided that they may not honour the call-ups for the World Cup except the NFF states clearly what is due us for a win, a draw or a loss, as well as our camp allowances.

“If that is not done, Nigeria may not play at the World Cup because we believe that we have been cheated by the federation. We are not demanding to be paid like the Super Eagles but we want to be respected as a national team. We want something reasonable.”

Spokesman for the NFF, Ademola Olajire, told our correspondent that he was not aware of how much the players were paid.

“The Super Eagles are paid in naira for their home matches and in dollars for away games. For a win, each player gets N1m while they get N500,000 for a draw,” he said.

“But for the Sand Eagles, I am not aware of how much they were paid or how much their allowances are. Only the team administrator can talk about that.”
However, the team administrator, Sunday Okai, did not answer calls made by our correspondent to his mobile phone line.

Ndidi Cooling Off In Dubai With Cute Girlfriend Ahead Unveiling At Leicester Next Week

Leicester City January signing Wilfred Ndidi has embarked on a holiday trip to Dubai with his girlfriend after playing his last game for his Belgian side Genk.

Ndidi lasted the entire duration of Genk’s 2-0 win over Gent two days ago, and subsequently said goodbye to the fans of the team as well as his teammates after the game.

His deal will be made officially on the 1st of January when the transfer window reopens, in a deal that reportedly cost the English Champions £15m in transfer fee.

Comfortable as a centre back or defensive midfielder, the 19 year old who can also play as a full back is however expected to fill the void created by the departure of French star N’golo Kante.

” Wilfred Ndidi is now enjoying a short holiday in Dubai with his girlfriend. Next week, he’ll travel to Leicester City”, well respected Belgian journalist Sven Claes wrote on his twitter handle.
