Bro, I sincerely hope you are keeping your manuscript in check for publication at the end of your service year? I mean like KEBBI: 'Memoirs of a service year"

I served in Jigawa 2014/215 and wrote down my experience and now got publishers interested in publishing it.

Don't just keep a NL diary, keep your manuscript in check there's a whole lot of invaluable lessons people will get when the read your published memoir.
Peace!
Very good idea...

Just asking though, how was your service year in Jigawa

This was what he preached to me tongue!!

But do such really work in our country ? Where you get publisher(s) to publish the autobiography of an NYSC service year? If you go put me through, I take back my words oo cheesy..

@ Dottune, nice narratives and you brought back that initial feeling when I first saw Nasarawa State as my State of Deployment grin. I kept wondering how I got posted to a State I never saw coming. The State was only heard when school children chanted '36 States & Capitals' every morning.

And yeah, a course mate got posted to Kebbi State too, and I saw her climb on a camel's back (her IG & FB photos) though she complained of the sun grin.. I came back tanned, mehn!! Rivers State sun has been romancing me all these while cheesy.. The North is HOT sad!!

Finally, fruition in your service year smiley..

Lol @ what he preached to you, I'm skeptical about the publisher(s) stuff, but it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Thanks for the complement...

And yeah! No joke, that Kebbi Sun is something else upon all the harmattan, it kept repping and what makes it worse is that they have clear skies unlike in the south where the cloud might temporarily block the heat for a while.

@ the prayer: Amen!

BTW his was Nassarawa State? Hope you didn't redeploy? I guess you aren't a Batch B '16 corp member, did you also write a diary on NL here? if yes, can I get the link?

Nasarawa State? Camp went well, and the few days I stayed in the state to sort clearance, accommodation etc, I heard Koffa! Koffa!! Koffa!!! one million times cheesy..

The innocent kids wants to touch you or help carry your bags..
The young ladies can't stop admiring you, greeting you as many times as possible..
The men kept staring at the wrong places undecided..

Yes, I am a Batch B '16 Koffa grin.. Don't I sound like one?

Yes, I have a diary, and I wrote about my camping period..

Lmao @ the men can't stop staring at the wrong places.

One thing I love about the North so far is their appreciation for corp members, even those that are from the south and leave over there, do the same unlike Lagos, where no one gives a hoot!

No, you didn't sound like one earlier.

Following your Diary already, it's quite interesting, you're a very good writer.

Hehe cool, I didn't redeploy too, although when people ask me "sheybi you redeployed na? or you'll redeploy abi?", I just simply tell them it didn't work out even though I didn't even think about picking the form grin

Cool someone is making same observation. Yes, I noticed they appreciate Corp Members a whole lot unlike what we have in the South undecided. Not even one sincere person called me Koffa (I had my cap and an NYSC brooch on) when I got to PH except for one of the carrier guy at the airport, and a cab man looking for a passenger that tried to call me that in exchange for their services to be rendered. Eye service people grin!!

No, you didn't sound like one earlier.

Well, I had intentions to redeploy before leaving for camp but then, on a second thought (after spending few days in camp), I realized Akwa Ibom wasn't worth the stress (no ill feelings).. Sorry!! SS and SE States are overrated, and yes, I am from the SE cheesy!!

Aside that, I thought I needed to start taking charge of my actions and decisions as I will be facing the world soon.. Having lived all my life in the SS (with parents or very close to parents), it wouldn't hurt trying the North Central (miles away from them).. I just pray Nasarawa State remains as peaceful as it is, Amen.

**battling with sleep** Good night smiley..

Yes, they do as it is a common language used for communication during trading both in the Northern and Middle belt regions. During one of our lectures in camp, we were taught the fundamentals of the language and still told that the people of Nasarawa State speak 29 other languages (Eggon, Agatu, Basa, Kofyar, Gbagyi, Ham etc) with Eggon language been spoken by a larger number.

Do well to get me a farmland to start practicing Agriculture grin as I heard the people of Nasarawa State don't joke with their farming & harvesting periods. Money must be made cheesy!!
