You Putin asslickers are pathetic. Always prasing his every move.

He retaliates, you praise him. He doesn't you still praise him.

He shows off a millitary weapon, you praise him to high heavens.
Don't mind them. They don't know this, that Putin is simply seeking a relationship with America, which Obama has denied him several times. Check every Putin's message to America e.g his independence wish to Americans, he(Putin) spoke about resuming good relationship with Americans.

Hmmm...

Given the turpsy-turvy history of US and Russia relations, taking Lenin's regime as a starting point, of what significance is this rather rash and egocentric step by US in international polity?
It's a good thing that you called it with a key word "rash".
Historically, the US has always regarded the Soviet Union with some sort of suspicion even at its founding in 1922, though the USSR didn't care much about America at the beginning because it was preoccupied with internal problems and its status in Europe. Soviet-American relations were to be developed much later, in the mid to late 1930s.
The end of the Second world War fuelled mutual suspicion and hostility from both sides which snowballed into the cold war.

Back to the question, to the lot of people out there, Obama's decision was egocentric, and that is due to the fact that America is fast losing its role as the dominant superpower.

The Syrian civil war exposed this. After so much talk about imposing a no-fly zone over Syria, arming the Jihadists they call "moderate opposition" and all that, and talks falling flat, it has taken a turn to the point where Russia, Iran and Turkey can hold trilateral talks without involving the US, and as expected, it would pain the White House so much.

I don't even want to get started on the Ukrainian issue, the failed coup in Turkey and Russia's alleged influence in the presidential election.

Obama has been seen as a weak president because of all and more of these scenarios, and many people who had expected him to assert American power by actions more than just word have been thoroughly disappointed.

So, these sanctions are a way of flexing some little muscle left, and in a way putting Trump in a tight position, because if Trump doesn't lift the sanctions after much pressure from the Kremlin, it will affect his relationship with Putin. And if he does, the cries about being a Putin puppet is going to ring louder than before.

Whatever it is, it will be one hell of a series to watch.

Yeah. If you check the numbers of Countries in which US are directly and indirectly engaged their military men, you will surely understand what I'm trying to say. Numerous war ships , jets and their yearly budget on war. US soldiers are are more loyal to their country than other soldiers. The marines, seal and many more. you will surely see the difference between the democrats and republicans.

You need to understand that many people here have lived in both sides and many other sides as well before using that as an argument which is very weak I dare say.

Putin enjoys a mind boggling approval rating of 83 percent. The highest of any Russian,Soviet leader(ever) or world leader(in recent times). Even outside Russia. In Europe, Asia and South America, Putin is a symbol of defiance against American hegemony.

The illegal invasion, destruction and various regime change black operations of The United States over the last few decades, which has been spearheaded by the Military industrial complex, corporate America and International Banksters did not help matters. The Public has recovered from a systematic induced lobotomy from a culture planted and controlled by orthodox mainstream media.
Your comment shows you know about world politics not people that talk with sentiment just because they love Obama (black brother) and US. Respect to you.

The failure of western imposed multiculturalism, malfunctioning democracy, global Neoliberalism and political correctness and the rise of the Russian ideological model should give you worry that the end is near for US imperialism. By challenging the global role of the U.S. and EU, the Kremlin is pursuing an anti-globalist agenda.

In addition, by developing a political system in Russia characterized by authoritarianism, nationalism, and populism, Putin has provided an ideological and political template for right-wing parties throughout Europe. Does Brexit ring a bell? Does Trump's victory ring a bell, Does the rise of popular nationalist candidates in France ring a bell.

In diplomacy, the Russians have managed to make the United States and its allies look like amateurs in their shadow pipeline war in Syria and has effectively sidelined the US and EU in the latest ceasefire agreement. Within a year Putin is now calling the shots in the Middle east.“The Russians understand the relationship between military means and diplomacy infinitely more than Obama does,” --- (Robert Ford, a former Obama administration ambassador to Syria).

The fact that last month, Qatar (a major US ally and a sponsor of anti-Assad forces) withdrew from the war with Syria after reaching a deal with Rosneft, the largest company in the world, owned by Russia against US sanctions, The Russia-OPEC deal coupled with the new romance between Turkey (A Nato member) and Iran a regional power shows who is running things in the Middle East.

This is like a game of chess and the Russians have shown that they are the Boss.

Thank you for carefully taking your time to lay out and analyze the obvious facts. Many pro-american nairalanders are blinded to this facts because of their unwaivering love for anything America. The
white house through its network of foreign intelligence realise how potent Vladimir Putin as a seating russian president can be.
These latest rivalries started with the request by Poland to establish antinuclear missiles system on its soil. Since then, America uses all means and might to upset any Kremlin move in other parts of the world and this has made things worse all over Europe and the world at large.
America should stop thinking it is doing the world a great favor. Its policies are just creating enemies among rival nations with long history of differing ideology and way of life.

You don't understand your own country but you know so much about places you never been nor lived. No country one earth is perfect but the livability is what matters. How anyone can compare Russia with America is mind boggling to say the least. Do honestly think if it were Russia Trump would be president elect? As flawed as America is, what makes them the greatest country in the world is the fact that they have systems in places that guarantees to a certain level liberties. Have you been to the Baltics? Go there and i promise you will not have the opinion of Russia you have now. You guys just stay glued to your computers and think you know everything about the world. Go out. Explore and your perception will change permanently. I promise you.

Well, the sad reality of life now is that American "imperialism" is here to stay for at least another few decades and there is nothing much Putin, Russia or China can do about it.
we may be sentimental and say that American imperialism has done this and that, but the reality on ground is that it will still continue.

Russia's economy is tanking and the Russian Rouble is turning to tissue paper due to the sanctions on their neck, and if the sanctiobs continue (and more will definitely be added this week after the congressional hearing) till the end of 2018, the Russian economy is done for, that is why Putin is desperate, trying to work with OPEC grin (who thought that day will come) to increase the price via oil cuts, and trying to warm his way into Trumps heart to loosen the noose from the neck of his economy.

How much slack Trump will give him is left to be seen, but looking at things, how the sanctions enjoy bipartisan support, the blowback from loosening the noose would be disastrous for Trump.

America has Rusdia by the balls right now, and I don't see how they can challenge the status quo in this state they are in.

The CIA & FBI conducted their separate investigations and came to the same conclusions with iron clad evidence and send their reports to the Obama's administration.

The Republicans and Democrats in congress are in supportive of Obama's action.

secondly, the last thing trump wants to do is anger the republican senators, most of whom want even stiffer sanctions. he cannot get anything done without their support especially since the democrats will do everything in their power to oppose trump.

bros i totally agree with you on this point u made. For someone who isn't so informed about russia and its affairs, he ll tend to always support Yankee because their propaganda machinery of CNN, Fox news and other western media outfits like BBC is strong. Go to all nigerian banks n offices , na CNN dem dey watch. That's why I try to balance CNN's reporting with that of AlJazeera because aljazeera report bad negative stories about Yankee and good stories about the middle east and Asia, stories that CNN or Fox news or BBC will never report
You are absolutely right. To really understand what is happening, one must try to balance everything and also put whatever is being said into proper perspective with an open unbiased mind. (Which can be difficult to do when one has been systematically trained or brainwashed to believe whatever comes out of Yankee)

America has Rusdia by the balls right now, and I don't see how they can challenge the status quo in this state they are in.
As it stands presently, NATO members are Americas greatest allies on earth. But they all share different views on immigration in Europe. Europe has never been this divided. Greece is emerging from almost a decade economic downturn, Italy's economy is nosediving at a higher rate than ever, Most nations in eastern Europe are shutting their borders against immigrants who have left their home en masse following America's disastrous intervention in the middle east, Germany has always been peaceful until now, France isnt sure when the next attack will happen, England has its hands full with Brexit. The whole of Europe is becoming a military zone because it accepted imperialist ideologies that is foreign to its history.
Did the white house put all of these into consideration before igniting all these un-necessary proxy wars? Definitely not.
On the other hand, Russia has succeeded in striking deals across the world. This in my own opinion is not a small feat.
America has only succeeded in created more enemies than it needs. If crude oil prices continue to rebound in the new year, global economy are likely to rebound, even to the delight of some oil producing states in America and Canada.

Who gets the thumbs up? Vladimir Putin or the Outgoing Obama administration.
I am not a fan of Vladimir Putin but his carefully planned approach to diplomacy rings a bell all around the world and I can only applaud it.

Trump has a business background, he is cerainly going to focus more on the America economy and going by his recent tterances, I don't think he gives a damn about NATO as he has always criticized its members of contributing too little to its financial portfolio while America has continued to increase its quota. Trump doesn't buy this and this will definitely affect his decision making in Europe. Will this be to Russia's favor? I think that will depend on Putin's ability to mend fences with foes across Europe.

it appears you dont understand how intelligence works particularly in cyber space.

declassifying their findings would be detrimental to the us intelligence community as it would basically be revealing classified sources and
methods used by the government.

it should also be noted that even a private firm hired by the DNC to investigate the leaks came to the same conclusion as both the FBI and CIA.

You display your ignorance about international relationships.

Had Obama done anything before the Elections, it would have been seen as political and that he is merely siding with Hillary.

Obama acted at the right time, he waited for both the CIA and FBI to complete their investigations and issued their reports and conclusions on the hacking and forward a comprehensive report to congress.

In the US both Republicans and Democrats are supportive of Obama's sanctions with some Republicans saying Obama did not go far enough.

There is truly nothing Trump can do about it, if he likes let him sleep on the same bed with Putin, those spies are not coming back.

The overwhelming America sentiment against Russia/Putin is high, plus the underlying America foreign policy towards Russia is adversary; and a million Trumps will not change that. Immediately after his inauguration, Obama tried to change that to friendship and he failed. You remember his trip to Moscow and his now infamous 'reset' speech about the soar relationship between US and Russia under Bush? Republicans laughed at him in the back in the US. The bitter Truth is, Putin blew his chances with Obama, forget the current media romance between Trump & Putin.

Putin all of a sudden forgot that, America is not like Russia where the President have almost absolute dictatorial power, Presidents in the US are big gagantic figure heads. There are millions of things that even Buhari can do through the powers of his office that will make any America President jealous.

Very soon, Trump have to tow the line of the career CIA & FBI agents, who have indicted Russia; else there is no way he can be President and maintain a battle or disagreement with those two agencies.
Exactly...

Russia is seen as America's adversary, and Trump cannot change that; and the congressmen will soon slap him into reality when he assumed office.

after they use like 6 of your bills to wipe their ass; you will learn how things work in Washington

Ok, you are are not using google but you are still using something close to it. I ask again, do you understand the politics in russia? They are like Nigeria with a revolving door of corrupt politicians and worse a more corrupt system of re election. The fact that you don't know this speaks volumes. And for your information, Russia has the highest number of nuclear warheads. It doesn't matter though. All you need is maybe ten to to twenty in order to destroy the whole world. Plus, you seem to have forgotten or don't know that Russia was the first country to invade afghanistan. Oya, start googling.
it wasn't an invasion, the Afghan government called upon the Soviets to ensure security

Guy I don't know where you guys get this notion from that Russia is stronger than US. The US military is the most powerful military in the world by far more than any country. Even Putin himself admitted it last year 2016.Check

Count and comare their jets, submarines, war ships, .Have you heard about the world "MAD" which stand for "mutually assured distruction" When two nuclear capable countries are fighting both are surely going to harm each other. Russia will be able to destroy US under 24hrs by nuclear weapons ? Can't US do the same to them.In fact Russian ammunition are obsolete they only threaten with their Nuclear weapons because that's the only fearful thing they can threaten with.US has nuclear weapons that are still potent for decades without heavy servicing all in underground silos unlike Russia that needs to service theirs every decade. They have B2 Spirit bomber jet for nuclear bombing by air,the look of that jet alone is trilling. They have submarines that are nuclear capable. It means if Russia attacks them by Nuclear bombs they have three means air, land and water to retaliate.

Do your research US has the best fighter jet in the world ,the F-22 Raptor operational and continuously upgraded since 2005 na now Russia still dey struggle with theirs or is it the new one they co-sponsored to build with mostly NATO countries the F-35 lightning II.Have you heard about the Toma-Hawk bomb with great precision. Is it their newly upgraded anti missile defence system called "THAAD" that neutralise 98% of incoming missiles.Do you know how many air craft carriers warship US has compare it with the others. In fact the only country that have even used the nuclear bomb in war is the US ,talking about the weaker bomb ,the atomic bomb in the second world war.It was dropped in two cities in Japan,Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I have heard Obama before addressing the press ,he starts with "as president of the most powerful nation in the world" He isn't really joking.Even Putin admitted it this year.

However nuclear bomb is the worst thing that humans has ever built. It has the power to end the human race. It's an ugly weapon. No country should have it at all it's evil
The US hasn't fought any real war. Russia under it's various evolutionary dispensation has fought more than three 3 world super powers and won against them. Despite on all occasion, being the under dog

If you enter Russia, your backward perception of Russia will change.
The share history of their evolution

So, these sanctions are a way of flexing some little muscle left, and in a way putting Trump in a tight position, because if Trump doesn't lift the sanctions after much pressure from the Kremlin, it will affect his relationship with Putin. And if he does, the cries about being a Putin puppet is going to ring louder than before.

Whatever it is, it will be one hell of a series to watch.
Nice analysis!

The quote above sums up what is to come for the incoming president. Obama's decision is more party aligned than in the interest of National security and foreign policy agenda.

So because your useless to the nation and the environs makes you think others are ninnies like you? Little details makes the difference, what if you become a diplomat tomorrow, how would you handke internatinal relations when you're so dump and limited to your local Info's? Think dude, people don't comment because they're either jobless or idle, they do so in exploring Info's. Remember "Two great heads are bettter than a dumb 1". You ain't better than any1 here. A word they said is enough for the wise. Thank you!
That's a rather apt response there!

Knowledge is power and he doesn't know that knowing things beyond one's confines or border, widens the paragmatic mind and it makes you stand out during public discuss
