Wont the soldiers give a better account than the media houses?

And some people support this....
Some people are just brain dead... trust me, if you have families in the army you would reason otherwise..

They should die and be forgotten even after complaining..

No media house noticed the flag difference till date, but the soldiers did and raised red flag. Is it not their life that would be sacrifised.

It is wrong for a soldier to be posting the kind of things Nigerian Soldiers put online. In saner countries, those soldiers would probably be in jail especially with the kinds of things Nigerian Soldiers do. Not to mention the security implications of it. Glorifying alcohol, wearing mismatched uniforms, decapitating the enemy, etc. I know it's all talk though. Nigerians don't have the conviction to follow through on anything.

So that the world won't see how they're killing souls in Niger Delta too.

That has been long overdue. Most Nigerians are not patriots but saboteurs in the name of criticism.

Guys check out http://wardocumentaryfilms.com and make your decision....

Apart from keeping record for future audits and possible investigation, it may be needed for transparency

Dashboard cameras for police men exist for basically the same reason if not more... Helmet cameras and all should be encourage..

The control of what is uploaded to the public will be another case... You maybe blaming US for numerous coverups and all but these guys do it largely for their best interest (their citizens) meanwhile your Nigerian forces may have far less lower etiquette (you have seen, and heard stories or may have even experience their brutality)..

Yes, lets the world see what they are going through, be it good, bad or otherwise...

We go on social platforms and scream our hearts out for our bad roads, lack of light. Some go on instagram and twitter to tell their stories first hand.. if the news about soldiers on drip in the dessert had not circulated, would the army have done anything?... their lives are at war-fronts.. why cant they tell their story?

They are humans and blood run through their vains

You still don't get it. It is not about preventing the world from seeing what they are going through. It is not about that at all. It is about the security implication of the trend.

The trend can reveal troop movement to the enemy. It can expose the identities of soldiers, their different colleagues and even their families to terrorists which can then track them down later.

It is about preventing the enemy from seeing the kinds of gadget they have access to at the war front.

It is about protecting the location of a soldier and his unit at the war front.

The Nigerian Army has not said they are banning press men from the war front, accredited press men are always at the war front.

It is highly unprofessional for soldiers to be revealing pictures of ongoing battles on social media.

Good call, i dont even see reason why camera phones are allowed to war fronts.

What happened to their Usual walkie talkie or what ever they call those hummer phones?

We now see soldiers reporting instead of the media.

The year is 2017 not 1967.

And by uploading the so-called sufferings on social media do they get help from people like you.

The Nigeria military is proactive and you are the joker and not security conscious.

This is a good move which is late in coming in fact but better late than never.

Dont they see the US Army that they try to emulate? If their high command does not give this kind of directive, why should ours? It seems there

is a deliberate attempt by some to suppress disenchantment as we saw recently. Soldiers were deprived of their rightful entitlement, they

complained through social media and the COAS intervened and troop morale went up. It is unnecessary suppression like this directive that leads

to mutiny. Some people may be afraid that issues of misconduct and corruption within the force could be exposed and are doing everything to

cover their arrrse.
