hotobo:
is there any need to use 50db rf booster after the 2nd step or the 3 step will serve without having a booster after the combiner. Will 20db booster work well after 100m

Thanks
You only need one combiner
What you should try first is to connect without booster
One single coaxial cable, where you notice signal down meansyou need booster unpower booster or power power is needed there

1. Signal is transmitted via rf so decoders must have rf out port. A modulator must be used for decoders without rf out port.
2. If you can afford use a modulator per decoder for all the decoders for better video quality. A modulator converts AV video into rf video.
3. Take video with coaxial cable from rf out port, or from modulator, of each decoder to a combiner. A good splitter used in reverse will do. Assuming you have 16 decoders to shoot 16 channels you can use 5 pieces of new 4-way splitters. Using coaxial cable:
- connect one splitter to the signal-in of your mixing booster in reverse order. A 42db alcad booster or a 20db telavees booster will do.
-then connect your four remaining splitters to the four points on the first splitter also in reverse order. That will give you 4×4=16 points where you'll fix(mix) your signal inputs from 16 decoders, or from modulators as the case may be.
Mixing of decoders is a task that requires patience and time. It's easier if you are using modulators. Those akewu astel modulators of 4k each will do just fine.
Below mixing guideline is without modulator.
- get a good tv with functioning remote control preferably LG. LG displays the number of each rf channel on the screen for easy mixing.
- connect one coaxial cable line from your mixing booster output to the rf in at the back of your nearby tv- with a tv plug.
- your decoders are to be mixed in one after the other. On the TV rf system the channels start from 21 up.
You'll need a female tv plug for each decoder. Buy the iron type. A pack of f-connectors and one good AV wire. Mixing is after all your 16 decoders are functional with their signals and are showing your desired channels.
1. Power on your first decoder and connect it to the TV using the AV wire.
2. With the decoder remote press menu and enter system setting. Scroll down and select UHF and change the number to 21. Save and exit.
3. Change the tv input from AV to RF.
4. Use d tv remote and enter menu of then setting and search the tv. If you are very conversant with searching tvs then use manual search as its flexible and faster for mixing work. Otherwise select auto search and wait.
4. After searching then your first decoder will appear on the TV as channel one(with uhf number 21).
5. Then check the video for clarity. You may need to adjust the gain of your booster to get optimum video quality.
6. After your channel one is satisfactorily clear then you repeat step 1 to 4 for each decoder to mixed them.
7. The catch here is that each decoder must be on different uhf channel. As channel 21 is your first decoder put the second one at 23, the third one at 25, the fourth one at 27, the fifth one at 29 and so on. The rule is as you start with an odd number then use odd numbers for all decoders. Ditto for even numbers. This gives a gap of one number between d decoders to prevent jamming and interference.
You'll have to be patient as some decoder will outshine others. This is because you are using assorted decoders with different clarity strength. It's better to place decoders with the sharpest video last and vice versa.
After all your decoders are mixed harmoniously then you shoot your signal out. It can reach 100 meters then boost it and continue.

There will be more hints for anybody that has reached this stage. Just ask questions.

Well hidden things are risky to deal with, let us talk about it here.

The type onitsha pple do is to buy some number of payed decoders including some FTA and connect all of them by RF with different RF frequencies and amplify the combined RF with a simple R.F amplifier. Then run the output wire/cable from pole to pole, all your clients will only need to plug into their TV, search and receive all the channels according to the number of programs you acquired. Every month you have to go from pole to pole to cut wires...therefore u have to see some Nepa guys in ur area...it is pure piracy unless you restrict it to your compound alone.

That defends on a number of factors
1. Do you have basic knowledge of satellite and receivers?
2. Number and types of channels you wish to use.
3. Wether or not there is constant/reliable electricity supply in the area you wish to operate. This is very important. Etc etc
Answer the above questions for proper guidance.

I basically think MATV/CATV distribution is a bit more technical than just connecting amplifiers and splitters together, it more technical than that to achieve a perfect and clean signal on all your TV , there is a lot of calculations involve, you can reach me on Abayo83@gmail.com or 08067136311 for professionals who want to learn the trade .

Wow thanks, I understood almost all just d connection from decoder to the combiner and to the RF,secondly how does 1 make it crystal clear in all rooms entered

In the explanation given, no mention was made of public television transmission
In my area in Ondo State, we have the signals from ITV Benin on Channel 21, OSRC transmits on Channels 23, 25 & 27. EKTV transmits on Channel 30 or so
In other words, one must necessity move away from these public channels in order to avoid jamming or interference

Lastly, recommendation of having the decoders separated by only only 2 channels (even/odd no all through is not practical. I noticed one needs to have up to 4 or 5 intervals.
For the distribution in our house,
Channel 11 - NTA Akure
Channel 21 - ITV Benin
Channel 25/27 - OSRC
Channel 33 - Joy Tv Decoder
Channel 38 - TStv Decoder A
Channel 47 - Tstv Decoder B
Channel 54 - TStv Decoder C
Channel 60 - DSTv decoder

We are one big family in the compound - 2 Tvs in the BQ, 6 Tvs in the main building and one in the gate house
Wherever you are, you are free and independent as far as watching your favorite Tv channels is concerned

Hello guys...
I have just joined this discussion, but i have questions as a youg enterprenuer.
It goes this way...
Can we assume, the more decoders or the number of decoders, determine the number of channels to be distributed?
Thanks, as i await your response.
