With this statement from First Bank, it's sure nobody will come forward to claim that money. Thank you President Muhammadu Buhari, the true leader and champion of the common man.

I'm sure if GEJ was asked to react to this shameful stealing by Diezani, he'd probably say "I don't think it's possible for Diezani to steal $153 million dollars like that".

The thieves who worked with GEJ surely enjoyed his leadership that allowed them to loot as they liked.

GEJ was an accidental president indeed. Under normal circumstance, he cannot win a contest to be a class captain in a primary school.
so when would he start prosecuting babachir lawal, kyari, tinubu, atiku, fashola, amechi even question his wife's source of wealth among others.

Unfortunately, you ain't educated, otherwise you should know what is called "case study". While writing a project or thesis, you don't deviate from your case study, else you'll fail. Go back to school, that's if you've ever been there.

If Deziani had use this money to develop her mother town in Abari, Delta state nobody would have complained. If you go to the town it is a sad picture. Nobody would believe such a riverine community produce a very rich petroleum minister.

Abari is a riverine community that is gradually fallen but the former minister forgot her poor riverine community and be ditching money to Dazuki, Obanikoro and the rest of the others.

The only people who benefit immensely from the stolen wealth of Deziani is her Igbo in laws ( her navy husband people )

Both Former President Jonathan and Mrs Deziani Allison-Madueke disappointed the Niger delta people because money that they would have used to develop the Niger delta and Nigeria at large corruptly went into private pocket and private bank account.

I think all those banks official who helped Deziani, Patience Jonathan, Goodluck Jonathan, and the rest of these corrupt people to steal our petro-dollars should be prosecuted for their crimes.

The question should be GUILTY or NOT GUILTY
on whose side you belong is not important. By the way, you can't catch all. So catch the ones you can catch now and if we are lucky to have another person with the gumption to fight corruption, he should catch the others when he/she comes into power. Shikina!!!!!!

NNVanguard:
I studied all the discussions around Diezani's alleged $153.3 million forfeiture and here is the most interesting one as presented by Simon Ateba...

You might have read the original story yesterday. "Diezani Forfeits $153.3 million to the Federal Government".

It was as if the former oil minister who is undergoing cancer treatment in London was convicted by the court or voluntarily gave back the alleged stolen money to the Federal Government.

It was as if it was the end of a story and she was now handing over billions of naira she stole to the government coffers. But nothing like that. It's a court case.

The EFCC went to court alleging that it had traced some money that was stolen from NNPC when Diezani was, not NNPC head, but oil minister under Jonathan.

EFCC said the money was moved from NNPC to Fidelity Bank, then some funds ended up in First Bank and Access Bank. An investigator presented evidence of how the funds were moved.

The court temporary forfeited the money to the Federal Government and gave the banks 14 days to come before the judge and prove the funds belong to them.

For now, all we know is what EFCC said and what the court said. It is not clear whether the money belongs to the banks, the former NNPC head, former President Jonathan, to Diezani or someone else.

Claiming that she had forfeited the billions is misleading. But you know, the statement emanated from the EFCC and they cast the headline. We just copied and published. We didn't follow the facts presented and the argument in them.
What I and other sensible and patriotic Nigerians know is that that money is people's money. You can lie to and manipulate yourself as much as you want, noone cares.

I see you celebrating with modath on this thread but before you continue;

1)You don't have access to arguments cum evidence for and against this case...this is just a narrative of judge decision for case to be examined NOT and NEVER a conviction or PERMANENT forfeiture...If EFCC can't prove that there is case of stolen fund and how it was stolen then NOTHING for them...

2)I hope you also saw the report of $4.2 billion missing or unaccounted for from same NNPC under Buhari as Minister and president...Yea, he's a messiah not accidental president of no repute...

3)NNPC under Buhari by their stance in this report hasn't said there is missing fund...rather want to take an informed stance not alien to common sense and constitution...I am yet to see such cases Buhari has won in court except on media...You don't keep the cart before the horse.

4)First Bank only said they weren't part of the transaction if there was any...and wasn't done in the bank...Did EFCC retrieve any $40million cash from Lawal? Can they PROVE with EVIDENCE that such money was from NNPC ? So how come your conclusion that nobody will claim the fund? smh

5)I am sure you remember your thin god; Buhari stance on Abacha under whom he worked...(Abacha did not steal) just as we await repatriation of funds from same Abacha which is even contained in 2017 appropriation bill...

6)When will you also ask Buhari to react to his cutting grass with 270 million from funds raised by your hated Jonathan? I hope you are enjoying their dance of shame with Sahara reporters for some time now on funds stolen by even his family as Nigeria treasury is now Buhari's family account

cheesygrin

1)Did corruption fight start with Buhari?

2) Jonathan achieved more in corruption fight without noise than Buhari has achieved with all the noise...

3)Which sector has Buhari ended corruption in even with all the noise? Jonathan eliminated corruption in Agriculture sector, stopped fertilizer scams which was prevalent under Obj and other previous administration. He cleaned civil service...so which sector has Buhari cleaned up even after two years as president? which corruption case has he won?

The problem with this your advocated style of fighting corruption is that it creates a sit-tight syndrome, it impedes peaceful transition of power. If one party knows it is guilty of malfeasance and might be probed by an incoming opposition party, it does everything possible to hold on to power. Every wrong solution to any problem produces a negative consequence. Whatever worth doing, they say worth doing well. There is nothing bad in fighting corruption, however it must be holistic, no person irrespective of party affiliation must be spared and it must not be seen as selective or vindictive. Any apc member accused of corrupt practice should not be spared of prosecution.

If after reading the news report, this is all you can still come up with, no point having a discussion with you.

Just to educate you, it is anyone who wants to claim ownership of the money that must come forward and prove his/her case and convince the judge why permanent forfeiture should not be granted to the FG.

All other thing you've written is out of point.

1) Did Buhari use the $4.2 billion missing in NNPC within 6 months to develop daura? how is daura today? An Igbo man is the one reconstructing their library .

2) Did your family benefit from Buhari using 270 million to cut grass in a desert? or Fashola building borehole with over 128 million?

3)How much did they give you for Aisha Buhari turning Nigeria institutions into personal account?...

4)Wait till they win this case before you judge them or conclude because for now, no proven case of stolen fund has been established...good morning!!!

I no understand this division between Buhari and GEJ supporters, if una like make una kill each other but make una remember say either Buhari or GEJ no send una.

On corruption, we never start to dey fight corruption, all na lip service and witch hunting no be say witch hunting no good but if witch dey do their own make we too face our own wahala. Nobody fit achieve good result by blaming other people.

Fight against corruption should be total and general not selective. Any president that want to fight corruption must start from his/her bedroom.

As long as government continue to owe salary, people continue to die on pension line, shelter, educationand other basic amenities are still beyond the reach of the masses, government no go fit do anything than to continue with selective judgment.

Public office holder should be more accountable, we the people too should encourage, applause, celebrate and respect honesty. I know for fact that if any minister, senator or public office holder return back home without any stolen money with total dedication to have served the country, we will insult that person to his face and call him a fool for not stealing when he had the opportunity.

Please Nigeria problems and challenges pass our love for individuals (Obasanjo, GEJ, Buhari). If those guys really care about you and I, Nigeria will not be in this mess
