DeepFriedPuff:Your posts are so uplifting, thanks again. They voted wrongly, based on sentiments and tribalism, now they blame my beloved country for their woes. And their only solution is to encourage 170 million people to leave the country and seek greener pastures in America, how reasonable is this suggestion to any right thinking person? Cheers. |

Originalsly:Lol. Nice one but u are not entirely correct. The UK issue and some other countries have really made many Nigerians think all countries are the same. That's why u see so many people going to US embassy with so many unnecessary things that will not even be checked. Lol. The truth is every tourist or schooling visa appalicant is a potential migrant. They know all these, they are only trying to reduce the rate by putting those checks. Over 60% of immigrants who have green card or permanent residency or whatever were once illegal immigrants. They either got it tru marriage or the runs they do with $7k. Most that do those runs are either married back here, or have someone already. Having said this, illegal immigrants still work and make some money. The problem is some get so carried away, and feel so comfortable with what they are earning that they don't even move forward. Whle others are making moves to get a permanent residency, then green card, they are busy living the easy life and squandering every penny, moving with wrong cliques. At the end others have gone far, while they don't have a permanent residency, they dont have savings, they still do the same odd jobs they have been doing for years. 90% of those who get tourist visas have zero Intentions to come back here until they are fully secured. (once u over shoot 6months at a goal u have to remain there and find a way to get your residence then green card). There are thousands of single babes there who are citizens even Nigerians who are citizens one can hook up with. Point is being there illegally, is not an excuse not to make it. Focus, get grounded, then u can start doing fala folo. My friend as clocked 8 months now, works as a cashier in a restaurant, earns $10 an hr. Average of $600 a week. Stays in a $750 per month house.(,has flat mates). He is looking out seriously now to get married, though his choice is a white girl, which i am not so comfortable with. Truth is no one is looking for u to deport u, and they don't just deport like that. Don't just comit crime. I have a tourist Visa, granted since Nov last year, the only reason i am still here is I know the only option for me is to get married asap over there. I ain't gonna pay $7k to anyone. Its not gonna be easy at first, im gonna leave my "boss work" here, and probably be a vendor at McDonald's, or some jobs I won't do here. So i have to be fully prepared for it, then i jet off. That I won't go, ko le werk, i will definitely move. In b/w just leave that clown talking about racism blabla. If e nor work well for am, he didn't arrange himself well. He shouldn't discourage others. How can one say he is regretting going to the states? Well!!! |

Did those who campaign for Jonathan sit back here cos Jonathan won after having a visa? This is travel section, face me in the politics section if u have anything u want to say. |

progress69:This is very interesting. I recall you actively campaigned for CHANGE/BUHARI persistently on this forum and now you are jetting out permanently on a US visit visa? OMG these are the real enemies of our country, those who campaign for leaders based on sentiment and tribalism rather than being objective, thanks for bringing this awful change, some of us are still comfortable regardless. It is America I pity because a Leopard never changes its stripes. |

Pidgin2:No one encourages anybody to leave anywhere. Op is sharing his experience in the US, which is normal to any new-comer. In time memorial, Nigerians have been lining-up in the embassies to get visas. So, today's recession is not the reasons for leaving wherever they want to go. The system is such a scumbag from ages, not even the recession making people leave the country. |

maternal:/ Not funny...but just had to laugh. None of your friends bought a house. They leased a house that will be theirs in 30 years. In other words, they signed into servitude. A man that builds a house in Ajegunle to call his own is better than ten of your friends put together. But then, you bought into the illusion. ...just saying. But I understand your point. \ |

InvertedHammer:How wish Nigerian govt can allow or give same chance to her citizens without "man no man" or favouritism to lease a house and after 30 years it will be finally theirs. To butress my point,my former landlord is an igbo man,i wont use the word LEASE but bought the house in the year 1998,a 2 story building,he and his family make use of the 2nd floor while he rented out the 1st floor and the basement, the money he makes monthly is double the amount he pays for his monthly mortgage payment. Is that not a good way of having a home and also call it investment? Back to naija, looking at the country the way it is,what is the % of citizens who have this privilege? |
