Many Nigerians are educated barbarians whose little sense (if any) is often beclouded by useless emotions and sentiments. The so-called Mike or any other Nigerian is free to give expression to his fetishes and fantasies as long as they do not breach any known law.

Nigeria is NOT a religious or 'moral' entity. It is a SECULAR state, and all morality, beliefs and values are ENTIRELY PERSONAL and should never be forced down the throats of everyone else in society. To each his own, as long as the law is not in breach.

Side Note: I am highly disappointed with Pretty Mike for his cowardice. He should have remained defiant and refused to sign such nonsensical undertaking or tender a nonsensical apology that was obviously obtained via duress and coercion. I would have called my lawyer and filed charges against the fat headed Ambode, the Lagos State Government, and the police for illegal arrest and violation of my rights. With the little money he has and the plenty 'swag' he purports to have, he shouldn't have so easily cowered under pressure.

I have lost all respect for Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state and urge every Lagosian NEVER TO VOTE FOR HIM IN 2019.

These politicians are so manipulative that they feel they can control we the masses and censor us. There is a freedom of speech and freedom of expression clause in the Nigerian constitution just like the US First amendment that I'm used to.

@prettymikeclubuno displayed his freedom of expression by leashing his girls to his public events and appearances. The ladies NEVER complained. Did the governor have to order his arrest??

He did NOT dehumanize them. If there is such a law against dehumanization of citizens in the state, how come citizens are doused with petrol and killed after stealing in public?

Gov Ambode, how come movie maker Seun Egbegbe was dehumanized at Computer Village after allegedly stealing iphones? How come u allow vigilante justice in your state and have never addressed the police absence issue allowing citizens to freely dehumanize others.
A club owner uses a foreign style seen on catwalks, MTV and award shows and u immediately order his arrest and ask him to sign a fake anticonstitutional document.

IT IS SIMPLY UNFAIR, ABUSE OF POWER AND AGAINST THE LAW. I leashed my three children in the United States as they could dart into traffic and one kid once went missing for 4 hours in a mall as a toddler.

With the rate of ritualistic gbomogbomo kid-nappers in Lagos and other states, parents will start leashing their young kids in crowded markets an old thing abroad.

You forcefully want Lagos to be modern but still selective. Are u gonna start arresting parents too and seizing the kids? Did ur government disclose the investigation to the public?

We journalists deserve to know what Mike's ladies had to say. Mr Governor u acted like an illiterate. Ignorance does not EXCUSE STUPIDITY.

Firstly, can you accept to be leashed like a dog or can you leash a fellow human being like dog? I believe your answers are NO like any other decent and "okay" citizen of this country. You need to understand that there are less fortunate people living in our midst who have been broken, crushed and oppressed by situations and circumstances to the extent that they have become vulnerable to every and anything. People get to certain level where they can accept anything just to keep body and soul together. This is where the authority comes in, to stop people from making indecent proposals just because they can exploit the vulnerable ones among us. Do you really think under normal circumstances those girls will accept to do such? Think about it deep down. Do you know that if you stepped out naked in the public while sane, you could be prosecuted for indecent exposure? Heck, it is your body and your choice to do so but the authorities will not allow it because of the effect of your "freedom of expression" action on the society.

Secondly, if you traveled abroad and while carrying yourself as a decent, gorgeous, successful Nigerian woman, a foreigner offered you a few bucks to leashed like a dog to be displayed in a social gathering, how would you feel? This is one of the far reaching effects of Mike's action. He has dent the image of not only these particular girls, but all Nigerian women and women in general. I can bet there are some sick folks out there who after reading this news would think they can just come to Nigeria to "hire" any women to be leashed for a few bucks. And guess what, the insult will not stop there; you will receive offer for even worse inhuman show that the mind of man could conceive. In short, the stigma is not only on these girls alone, but on all women with dignity. I'm really surprised that no women based org had risen up to condemn and call for this guy's head. Kudos to the governor for "pulling his ears." I wish he had received a better discipline.

Lastly, to answer your question, the real problem here is that lots of Nigerians have lived in an abnormal society for a long time that they don't know what a normal society should be.
