I believe y'all have heard that only cowards and weakling hit women.

That is what feminists and feminism wants us to believe. What they're actually saying is that men should dole out the most violence, most of it to other men and then protect women because they weak.

This is all shades of wrong, first is that the same message is being spread by people who are totally against gender discrimination and gender shaming. A group that want women to be given equal treatment and opportunities as men.

A group that want women to be seen as human beings first and not be denied certain things simply because they're woman.

A group that believe that women are capable of doing everything a man can do except hurting a man. Of course, that's what the saying implies.

A group that says it is wrong to treat people differently because of their gender.

Sadly, men have been zombiefied to believe that hitting a woman is an act of cowardice.

How can you say that it's wrong to treat people differently because of their gender and still say that a man should not hit a woman because she's a woman?

Double standard?

Previously, I would have thought it wrong to hit a woman. But really, should we discriminate against women on the basis of their gender?

Feminists have made it clear to us that such discrimination is wrong, and that they are want gender equality. And as a man who believes in treating women with respect and dignity, I now understand that the best way to show a woman respect is to jump in the air, spin around in a one-eighty-degree arc while simultaneously lifting your right leg, and then delivering a flying spin-kick into the chin of a woman who disrespects you—just like you'd do to any man.

Gender equality is a good thing. Together, we can take down the patriarchy. It begins with you and me.

Don't hit anybody but whoever hits you first has no right to complain if you hit back.

Have you been having thoughts of hitting women should they hit you?
Why should this even be a topic to deliberate on?

Here in Africa, we can agree or not...but that equality issue does not pan out. This is who we are, it's our reality. I am not playing down the role of feminism, but I think most people who practice it lose touch with the core ideologies and then begin to scamper over inconsequentials like what the OP is talking about.

If we employ equity and fairness in our relationships as lovers, co-workers, neighbors and in other spheres...you will find that there is no need for the squabbles between feminazis and anti-feminazis

Whether it's your fellow man that hits you, or a woman that hits you, the honorable thing to do is to not react, if you choose to react, then be ready for whatever the fallout might be.

It's the same way some women would not counter their husband's order in the home, because he's the man.
For me, it is natural, or as a result of acculturation that we see these things this way.

Instead of going back and forth on an issue like this, I would rather engage myself in something productive or one that adds value to me and others.

Nobody should hit anybody and whoever hits should expect being hit. It's simple as that.

Economy is bad and we're supposed to start arguing on who to hit.

Forget the economy Madam, Feminism is designating one gender as an acceptable target for violence and one gender as exempt from violence and you expect us to fold hand and watch them destroy common sense because our economy is down?

They said that we should not hit back because they're weak but if primary school taught me anything it's to not make trouble with anyone who's stronger than you cause you will be beaten.

The crazy thing though is that the mentality that men shouldn't hit women because they're weak exposes women to more danger.

It makes women believe that something invisible somewhere is holding the man from hitting back so would go looking for his troubles.

Solange attacked Jay-Z and got away with it but what if it was Tupac or a random drug addict, would she still be alive today?

What we should tell people is to not hit anyone because it's wrong and to be ready for the consequences once they hit first.

For couples, it may be tolerated for a woman to hit her husband without retaliation cos conversely, no woman will even take orders from a man she is not married to or that is not her boss. The topic is about neighbours, colleagues or even in the market or any other public place in which case, my mum/wife/sister/aunt will not forgive me for such stupidity even though she is a woman.

The only reason I would not hit a man back if he hits me first would be if I think he's strong enough to do me serious harm should we go into a fight.
Otherwise, I'll hit him back.

People will always have stuff to say about any gender hitting back. The man would be termed a woman beater if he hits back at a woman who hits him first while a woman would be called disrespectful feminist if she hits back at a man who hits her first.

All of those are BS to me. If you know you can retaliate without causing yourself more harm, by all means do so. What people will say should not matter.

The only exception is when your response is not proportional to the initial assault. Say a person slaps you and instead of slapping back, you hit them on the head with a heavy object or stab them. Well that's a different scenario and most people will blame you justifiably.

Otherwise tit for tat.

Women are weaker than men. FACT !!!! You can hit me with a plank and I would probably just passout at worse. If you hit most women with a plank, most likely she/they may passout and die. Not saying some women are not strong/tougher than men but majority of them just get mouth.

It is not worth it. Trust me !!!! Avoid anything that will make you go physical with any woman because you can start it but you do not know where it would end !!!!

Yes, it does happen. Nobody goes out every morning in search of troubles but people sometimes go home with them. E.g cases of theft or attempted theft can lead to that and u expect me to keep quiet because I don't like problem, right? Right in my presence, a lady was slapping an okada man, dragging him and tearing his clothes but when the man got his balance, a single hit from him sent this lady down and as usual, people around started blaming the okada man for hitting a lady. But u know what? The lady had actually dragged his phone while she was on his bike but unknown to her, he was fully aware of what she had done and he just allowed her. When she came down from the bike, the okada man demanded for his phone from her and the next action is what we witnessed . But for the intervention of some guys, this lady would have been lynched. Did this okada man plan that his phone will be stolen and eventually get himself involved in this kind of situation. Problems appear in different forms.
