I hv done everytin possible to see if I can get even if it is my certificate but it seems the HOD has sold my result, at a point he told me to go and write another jamb for no reason. I need you help my fellow nairalander.

write to the registrar attached with ur result and admission letter you got from Jamb, then if there's no positive response, report back ur case. Do that fast within two weeks from now.
Right now am gonna push this to somewhere.

I don't know how things are done in IMSU, but the general thing is that before your name comes out for NYSC, it means you have a result and have completed your clearance. Only students cleared by their department, faculty and registrar can have their names sent to NYSC.

Secondly, results of students sent for NYSC must first be approved by the school senate. At this point, all cleared results are final and subject to collection.

Thirdly, matric/registration numbers always comprise of year of admission/department or faculty/number, so it is almost impossible to to have two people with the same matric number. If this is the problem, then the two of you who have the same matric number should be in this predicament.

If you have been through lol these then you know you have no problem, ur HOD is just being either lazy or vindictive.

So gather urself together, write in a very official capacity to the Registrar of the school, the Dean of faculty, the Dean of Exams and records and the VC. Give them time to resolve it, letting them know you wish to take further ction.

After which you should sue the HOD, the department, the faculty, the registrar the VC and the entire schools in a joint suit. You have grounds bro. You have nothing to lose and make sure when you sue you ask for damages cos they have wasted 4years of your life you can't get back.

Write a letter to the Registrar National University Commission, Chairman ocommittee on Education House of Rep and Senate.

just go and meet the vice Chancellor and table your case. simple.

without a registration number/ matric number you were never a student in the first place ur admission was fraudulent, hw can you apply for registration/matric number after graduation hmmm what year will the reg no bear? everything smells fraud

this ur problem has little to do with your HOD, it is a registry issue specifically admission. do you have admission letter? did you sign on the day of matriculation after matriculation oat?

i hate to say this but u have been waiting for 4years and dts enough to have started afresh and finished stop wasting ur time

alexdon I was in a similar situation about three years ago. I know how frustrating it can be.

If you have any senior staff as a relation or friend, I think it would be best you involve him or her.
In my own case, I met with the Dean, Student Affairs. From there my name was sent to Admissions Unit for Verification of Admission.
After it was verified, they had to move down to NYSC office Abuja to effect some changes since my matric number was already registered in their database with a different name. That was how I scaled through. You need someone to take it up for you, don't fail to pray about it too.

The major cause of the problem is the Mat Number format for Transfer students. They might have mistakenly omitted a "T" from a transfer student's number thereby automatically assigning your mat number to the fellow.

to me i feel the HOD of his department is lying to him, the fact is that the guy dont know who to meet in the school to resolve the issue, the selling of results is rampant in some tertiary institutions, so is better he report the issue to the school vc. imagine after spending 4yrs in school then another extra year simply out of selfishness and wickedness. he has a right as a student of that institution for them to tell him what happened to his result or provide it.

OP m sorry this happened to you and its not easy. The fault is not yours but from the person that issue out Registration numbers to students. It happened to me too , i found out about it in my second when i couldn't find result for a particular course. Since my reg no was given before the other lady she was given a new reg no, and she had to change all the reg no from all the courses she took from fist year to second semester second year. Your HOD is just been lazy and very wicked.

Dear sorry for what you are passing through one issue is that we use mat number which doe not not bear departmental code rather year of admission and other digit number eg 11/2088 which can clash with someone in another department but you did not get ur matric number right at first we all passed through similar cases thank God we escaped it if you are a lady it would have been easy for you but dear I know many of my lectures even HOD that said to some students as long as they are in that school the would make sure you don't graduate this case happened sometime in my department the morning the other lecturers were to deliberate on her behalf the man has already died a night before then all I urge you is to pray hard the spirit for that place plenty and another is if you have wronged any lecturer or taken his girlfriend from him just go and start begging him our HODs are just like that so its not a new story

Even if it is Registration number,,, every department has their code,,, 101 from accounting department will not be the same with 101 from Economics department because of the departmental code... You need to investigate very well.

Op,pls u have wasted enough time,don't bother saying u want to write to Vc or dean or whosoever, abeg 4 years no be moi moi.ur letter might not even get to d vc,get a lawyer DAT will handle everything for u,sue d school,sue d nonsense hod,to think that u believed u sharing d same matric no wit anoda person from anoda dept,pls how possible is DAT.Get ur jamb admission letter,even d nysc call up letter and give dem to ur lawyer,let him take up d case from u.Don't think u have any problem cos if u do,u wouldn't have been able to do ur clearance successfully and u wouldn't have bin cleared for nysc.Intact,they have to pay u for damages.But,wait o wat have u been doin in DAT four yrs,u should have taken legal action since naa.

Among the best students we graduated in my department in recent time one is a Yoruba boy and one is an Edo boy. We unanimously recommended for the appointment of the Edo boy as a graduate assistant and as I write this, the young man is about traveling to New Zealand for his PhD after finishing his masters degree under me within 18 months. The Yoruba boy is presently studying for his masters degree, one of us was even the one that purchased the masters form for him. We are still pushing to see if he can be appointed whenever there is opportunity. Based on the above-stated facts, can you still say that Ibos do not like the progress of other tribes.
