This stamp duty is nothing new, one of the best banks in Nigeria at the moment in terms of customer service used to charge this Stamp duty but they have stopped, i won't mention their name so as not to spoil market for them.

Diamond Bank customers should protest and it will be stopped, banks are just using Stamp duties to scoop short term revenues, yet they claim it is mandated by the CBN.

This is a CBN directive. Its not about Diamond or any other commercial bank, so enjoy your Buhari and his change mantra.
I'm happy to tell you that any bank that fails to remit the correct stamp duty charges to the federal government will be fined by CBN.

I recently mistakenly paid into someone's account up till now 4months they haven't done a dine. By the time I start with 4th you guys again. I would have demarketised that your branch finish. Ok make we start now since Una no dey hear word. Just yesterday stamp duty was deducted from my account at #400 and #250 just anyhow and a host of dubious deductions.

On 31st January, I was charged 11608 naira turnover whatever.
The same 31st, I was charged stamp duty 580

4 days later, I was charged 2100 stamp duty again on the same account. And they haven't replied my email since then.
Maybe it's time to close up.

Hmmm. In five days i was charged a total of 1800. I stormed their office and i was given one of the most ridiculous explanations of the year. I requested for my statement of account, only to discover that similar charges have been going on as far back as october 2016 without me knowing or receiving alert on it until recently. I presently need to transfer business to another bank ASAP, before they ruin my business by charging for what i dif not use and in a SAVINGS account at that.

Thought I was the only one suffering from the rubbish. They debited my account with #200 in a matter of minutes for stamp duty!

Bloody hell! I'm not even done typing and they've deducted another #50

Something is really wrong with diamond bank. They keep deducting money from people's account as they like without any explanation what the deductions is for. Their app ceases to have network at critical periods when it is needed most. I keep wondering, do other banks deduct these charges from their customers or it's something that has to do with just DB.
You can imagine how crazy DB can be. I just posted my comment and they charged me another N100. For what transaction bikonu? That is how I receive it almost everyday. Sometimes as much as twice or trice. The management should just do something or come out with explanations as regards these charges.

Diamond bank was my best bank until this unnecessary deduction from my account, The rate at which the stamp duty deduction is alarming.

Seriously this bank is the most bleeped up ever. Cbn just extended stamp duty collection to savings account holders this January, 2017 . Can u believe that diamond bank keeps deducting my money all in the name of stamp duty. Since January 2016. I get random messages of deduction, dating back to 2016, they randomly pick a month in 2016 and charge me for Stamp duty. Even as I speak ryt now, deductions of October 2016 in the name of stamp duty has jst bn sent to me. Very incompetent bank. Mofos

I think the management of this bank need to explain to customers why the bank is deducting our money for stamp we never used.

I mean it is only in Nigeria some banks or org just wake up one day and start charging their customers for nothing

if it's not deductions for VAT, den it's stamp duty or Mobile services. d deductions are far far more than d alerts for deposits dat I receive.

May God 4give federal govt, does it not sound foolish... Duties of post office are now handle by banks.... This country is upside down..... Which stamp does the bank sell, that is making them charge stamp duty..

On 5th feb I was charge #200 and 8th of Feb was charge #300. This is outrageous from diamond Bank. Broad day robbery.

I just got an alert dis moring from diamond bank deducting 100 naira from my account all in the name of stamp duty charge. Next is to go straight to the bank and withdraw all ma funds right now.

And there is nothing special about that bank. Diamond bank and it's affiliate mtn are just one and the same thing. I left both behind a long time ago.

It's very true. I also get debit alerts in my inbox. N72 N100 N50 and so on. I don't bother reading what they are for anyway, I read somewhere online about some directive by a government official to banks to deduct some careless charges. When they are done taking all the 'change' there they can close their account
Nothing in Nigeria is making sense or following a defined sequence. Stuff seem to occur randomly.
These guys should just share that cash in the reserves equally to all citizens let everybody just find their various ways.
