Will a farmer break even at a cost price of #5500 per bag of fertiliser which we know the real farmers can't get at that stated #5500?

Realdeals:

Are you a farmer to know that?

We are talking of food security meaning the availability of good food at affordable cost, quantity and quality. When the cost of farming input is high, definitely the cost of the output will remain high. In this sense the cost of food items and FRN produce won't come down, thereby defeating the aim of this programme.

What prevents the FG from setting up six fertiliser plants across the six geopolitical zones?

It's more than just oil though it's still one of the reason. There are lot of benefits that proceed from nations that belong to ECOWAS.

If they want oil, they can get it from Libya which will be cost effective albeit constructing the midstream sector from Nigeria to their country

Is this what made him the best President? Spreading lies and propaganda all the times.
Why go to Morocco to get ordinary fertilizer that is produced locally in Nigeria in surplus. We have Notore and Indorama in River state, these two giant plants produce more fertilizers to cater for our local consumption and even for export.
Why didn't he sign agreements for the sourcing of this products locally which will in turn create more jobs in Nigeria rather than going to far away Morocco to form "Islamic boss" for ordinary fertilizer.
A failure is a failure, you can't change that. Our eyes don open to the big scam called Buhari.

Never again will a dunce, certificateless, religious extremist rule this Nation.

I'm still trying to understand the post, especially where it says this will create jobs!

How will importation of fertilizer create jobs when we have two fertilizer plants in Rivers state alone, and the Federal government would have partnered them to drive down the cost of fertilizer but, rather than patronize them, you're importing from Morrocco?

I just don't get it!

why didn't your ineffectual buffoon make use of those plant instead of using our 20b dollars in foreign reserve to import rice and toothpick.
And you are complaining of bursting the monopoly in fertilizer production by given more avenue for accessing fertilizer.

Last year precisely on 14/12/2016, President Muhammadu Buhari and King Muhammad VI of Morocco signed a deal on fertilizers production, few months ago, the fertilizer is now being sold at N5,500.

According to reports, more than two million tonnes of fertilizer are to be sent to Nigeria in the next three years in Lekki area of Lagos before the Dangote plant goes into operation. When that plant goes into operation, there will be local capacity of up to three million tonnes of fertilizer in a year and that will create a lot of jobs and efforts will be made that it is very safe.

As long as we are still going to be importing fertilizers from Morrocco and the prices of food has not reduced, I don't think this is a laudable achievement for the president of the GIANT OF AFRICA.
