Someone should tell the 'efulefu' that there is no tribe in Nigeria called 'Ibos'. Kanu does not represent Ibos or Igbos. Kanu represents the indigenous ethnic nationalities of Southern Nigeria (Biafrans) such as Igbos, Efik, Ibibio, Ijaw, Ogoni and others.

The basis of representation in Nigeria is not tribe and tribe is also not the basis for state creation. And clearly the SE has more than it's fair share when you look at it objectively. Stating with land mass , the largest state in the SE is Enugu state with land mass of 7.161 sq km which is no larger than many LGAs in other parts of the country. The total area of all the 5 states in the SE ( imo,anambra,Enugu ,Abia,and ebonyi) all combined is not up to half the area of Niger state and just about half of Borno state. The total area of the eastern states is 3.1% of the Nigerias land mass. In terms of population According to the 2006 census , the population of the 5 SE states is a total of 17million people which is about 10% of Nigeria's population. So on what criteria do you want more states for the SE ? In my view the SE already have more than a fair share and they should really be merged into 2 or 3 states.
