Corruption on every side. And to think that Jonathan had asked the AGF to transfer OPL 245 to Malabu without investigation shows that he is indirectly a part of the chain crime. How does one transfer or hand over an oil block to just anyone without proper investigation? Clueless as always. That Nigeria is bleeding today is not just as a result of Buhari’s horrible economic policies. The previous administration greatly contributed. |

This Malabu oil deal stinks to the highest levels. I just hope it's not the probe of this deal that will return assassins to the fore of the country. |

Sanchez01:So sad, corruption is all over the country. It has eaten deep into the very fabric of our daily lives. Corruption in high places, middle places and even at low places. The corruption is so systemic that even the presidential advisory panel on corruption is frustrated with the level of corruption. Prof. Itsa Sagy stated that corruption in the customs and other agencies are in no way in the decline. And one sad truth is that majority wants the status quo maintained. They have forgotten that corruption is chiefly responsible for the messy state of our country. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79vYy6ky22E Shell, ENI and Nigerian officials implicated in oil field graft A joint investigation by UK journalists and a non-profit organisation has unearthed a major scandal involving the sale of the country's largest oil block licence. The OPL 245 oil field -- located on the southern edge of the Niger Delta -- holds an estimated 10 B barrels of crude. Its licence was awarded in 1998 to Malabu Oil and Gas and later sold to Shell and its venture partner Italian giant ENI for $1.3 B. Journalists from the Observer and Finance Uncovered have now discloses that previous government officials benefitted from the sale of the license. The spoils were wired through forex bureaus and two payments of $400 M through JP Morgan in London. Nigeria's anti-graft agency, the EFCC, has filed fresh corruption charges against Shell and ENI for their roles in the scandal. The block is currently owned by the Nigerian government after a temporary court order approved the EFCC's application. Shell and ENI have appealed the order, asking that the field be returned to them. |
