"Because money speaks far louder than words, the same message is being sent to Nigeria, to Chad, to Algeria, to Ethiopia, to Mauritania, to South Sudan, to Burkina Faso, to all the other African security forces with which the United States has a financial relationship".
A lengthy content. Still having my reserve about this.

Necessity is the mother of all invention. With the ARA MRAP coming on stream we now have what would eventually be a very good, competitive home grown APC that meets the pecularity of our environment.

A firm order of 1000 vehicles of all different variants of the ARA is key to sustainability. 1000 vehicles over 10 years seems only proper.

300 vehicles of the PF2 LAV for QRF units, 600 vehicles of the Innoson G12 utility truck.

After this, we get back to the drawing board and locally build a tracked IFV to replace our legacy Steyr and MTLB.

We are making pretty solid progress. In a couple months time, the ARA MRAP should be done.

I'm loving it.
tdayof:
It will be finished in few months.
Appreciate the optimism.

ordering 1000 unit of the first production variant of ARA is not too wise cus this first version would reveal lapses and upgrades that are needed in future variant which would then be more effective. 500 is a go.

That's why I said 100 vehicles a year. Each production cycle would have improvements from the previous version. Exactly the same thing we've seen with the PF2.

The PF2 we saw in 2013 and the PF2 today are more or less different vehicles. The version sold to Lagos State and Rivers state are not the same. Infact contrary to my earlier post, the version of 2017 is different from the version sold to Rivers and Abuja police units.

So each year we get improvements on the Ara mrap. I think 1000 units is a reasonable figure. To keep the product viable and to provide confidence in potential buyers.
