That's why I said 100 vehicles a year. Each production cycle would have improvements from the previous version. Exactly the same thing we've seen with the PF2.

The PF2 we saw in 2013 and the PF2 today are more or less different vehicles. The version sold to Lagos State and Rivers state are not the same. Infact contrary to my earlier post, the version of 2017 is different from the version sold to Rivers and Abuja police units.

So each year we get improvements on the Ara mrap. I think 1000 units is a reasonable figure. To keep the product viable and to provide confidence in potential buyers.
was it the DHQ that specified the SPEC for the ARA or was it just built to suit a vague role. If it wasn't the ARMY or DHQ then we should buy very little units of it initially and through experience with these test units draw out specs and upgrades necessary for a better tougher High Mobility multipurpose armoured vehicle That would be the standard for our armed forces like the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) of the USA. it takes time to come up with a standard platform. You will need to run trials upon trials and I suggest we still suffer the ARA to go through that rigorous test before we begin to see it as a standard platform that would be seen as the flag bearing armoured vehicle of our armed forces

I am not impressed with IED protection on this vehicle. That v_shape hull thickness is too low. For the body , I expect layers of HESCO or fibreglass on the panels and doors

I see were you're coming from, and I don't completely disagree with you. However, our respective conclusions are based on photos only. We don't have the data to draw a comprehensive conclusion from.

The Army ordered the Ara mrap. If 3 units are currently been built, it might mean that the first unit for trials must have been handed to the army. Proforce did say the army currently has an order for 9 examples. Way below our preferred estimates.

We are in an active combat zone in the Northeast. There is enough opportunity for trials.

In my opinion, I say we go for 1000. MRAP tech isn't new that it would require much testing like it's a new invention. That's not required.

The Algerian license built Nimr is not an MRAP. It's just a very good LAV. We also need a vehicle like that.

The Nimr is in the class of an Otokar Cobra. They aren't MRAPs.

Nigeria Police "Special" IRT.

Team leader in Blue shirt, ACP Abba Kyari.

The team responsible for the arrest and killing of one of the country Most Notorious Kidnapping/Robbery Gang who had been on the Police radar since 2013.

Gang leader was freed by gang members late January of this year while his fate was being decided in court. I believe we(esp Nigerians on this thread) still remember this and the fatalities that follows.

This team were on their tail and went on their trail from Imo state to Abia state and finally to Rivers state where they were captured and leader was killed.

Intel had it that gang leader killed his GF and 8 members of the girlfriend's family(too bad) because the latter was accused of stealing his #45million. Gang was also responsible for over 200 victims death(from kidnapping and robbery Ops).

Even with the low gear at their disposal, they were still able to pull the stunt(s) they performed.

Kudos!!!

IRT is a great team they're so good at intelligence and their undercover game is so strong. I'm sure those guys went in with Pistols while undercover and switched to their riffle later.

About the minimum gear, those guys were on undercover so gear has to be minimum. My respect goes to ACP Abba Kyari and his team.

Tge clasification for this type of vehicle is Infantry mobility vehicle. This type of vehicle are if you want small MRAPs

Okay, Infantry Mobility Vehicles or Small MRAP or whatever classification they are, we also need them. I n the absence of a locally built variant, I think the Proforce PF2 LAV is good enough.

Both countries have similar type kit in every category. The only area where I think there is a disparity is with the SU-34. The Americans no longer have a fighter-bomber of this class.

That's why there is specifically a No Longer in my post. We all know the F-111 is no longer in service, hence the "no longer" in my reply.

First try understand english, then you understand my post, then you respond. Doing this 3 aforementioned things would lead to less conflict in this thread.

The irony of this post.

I suggest you take your own advice:

If you applied your own rules, you would realize that I was referencing how recent advancements [Sniper Pods + JDAMs] have rendered Heavy Strike Fighters obsolete.

But no, you didnt read my post, you dont understand what I was talking about and instead you would rather insult forum members and try de-rail the thread again.

The only reason there is conflict in this thread is because you do not know how to behave.

Be better, Augustine120.

Most times you post comments that are so senseless, I begin to wonder why i even bother replying you.

Yes, according to you, Targeting Pods aren't integrated on Russian made fighters, the Russians also don't have an indigenous pod under development and Russia doesn't have the license to produce the Thales Damocles targeting pod.

Word of advice, perhaps you should always endeavor to avoid my post in this thread, and quit spamming my mentions.

Why are you so rude?

The Russians dont have any pods for their strategic bombers. Please dont obfuscate the issue by making misleading assertions. Very rude. Very untruthful. Very sad. (Many such cases!)

Here is how it goes:
Step 1: The Russians develop a pod that compares with the AN/AAQ-33
Step 2: They fit it on the Tu-22M
Effect: The Su35 becomes doctrinally obsolete (inferior bomb load, inferior loiter time, inferior survivability, inferior deployability)

Which is exactly what Russia is looking into (google: Tu-22M-3 Backfire C Growth Paths, Sapsan-E Targeting pod)

B1 + F15 > F111

hence

Tu-22M + Su30 > Su35

You need to work on your attitude. And your contextual knowledge. Augustine120
