Jalal is good, reminds me of me when I was.... Unfortunately, David would burn in hell, and he was such a nice guy... But that is looking at it from a perspective, cos another would be that he is in heaven with the Angels, all white like snow.... |

sino:There is absolutely nothing wrong with keeping with the tenets of Islam and burying the dead of non-Muslims but I think many cross the line about declaring where people have ended-up after death. Yes, the Qur'an is explicit about what happens to those who die in Kufr but to say exactly you are sure anyone is in hell might not be correct. You do not even know the circumstance of their death. Even if you are right beside them, a lot of things you cannot grasp. |

This is a very dangerous territory to thread in. No matter how emotionally sentimental we get about these issues, Allah's decrees are clear enough. He sees what we do not and He understands us better than we imagine. Afterall, is he not our Creator? |

pmc01:Very true. Obviously the young man struggles with the application of what he knows, he might not be able to handle forceful rebuke especially when it seems hard to him. |

We are programmed by religion not to ask questions. We should simply accept dogmatically as a sign of faith. If we should ask intelligent questions, then there won't be any religion. While I subscribe to Islamic monotheism and couldn't contemplate any other way of worship, I am always conscious also that we didn't choose the families we were born into. Only few people leave the religion they were born into. According to Islam, all Chinese and Asia countries with other religions, non muslim Indians, and christian Europeans would go to hell. I simply don't believe that. I think what the creator expects from us is goodness to each other and following the tenets of our religion. The creator would know that a good person dutifully following the instructions of religion A would most likely be a good person in religion B if he happens to find himself in it due to circumstances beyond him. That's why we need to be tolerant of each others religion and be good to each other. Unfortunately, most of the so called religious people are judgemental with attitude that makes one wonder about the god such people seemingly represent. |

maclatunji:I don't think I can ever get interested. I don't like make-believe. Same reason I don't watch movies. |

David is in heaven. All Muslims who have heard the word of God and didn't accept Christ as their savior will rot in hell. Allah is not God. |

maclatunji:Most true, we have our individual emotional struggles. I can only wish him well, as I wish myself. |

maclatunji:I absolutely agree with you, the writer portrays the reality of some religious people, in this case some Muslims, and same can be said of some non-Muslims as well. I think what is important is to respect the dead and empathize with family and friends, while remembering the good the departed had done, even if we do not share the same beliefs. Indeed judgment is for God alone. |

pmc01:I believe that the aim of every religion is to maintain peace and love in the society. I think that you are going to be judged base on what you believed. Do the right thing and heaven awaits you . Good morning |
| Re: Will You Meet Me In Paradise? The Story Of David by pmc01(m): 8:53am On Mar 07, 2017 |
Afam6:I like your view, simple and straightforward. Let me ask though, will someone who attends classes with the others but doesn't enrol in that school be awarded a school leaving certificate with the others? It's harsh but it's simple logic. |

The story of David is sad, we don't know what transpired between him and his creator the seconds he was drawing his last breath. And that Habu is funny, he should concentrate on making paradise rather than condemning others to hell. "the aggressiveness of a self-righteous Muslim" They are usually hypocrites |
| Re: Will You Meet Me In Paradise? The Story Of David by lagostokd: 11:05am On Mar 07, 2017 |
Everybody always claim to have a better religion than another person but deep down in every sane mind, we all know that only one God created the heavens, the earth, humans, and everything in it. That same God also have one requirement needed for anyone to gain eternal life. The only declaration that comes to mind here is that of Jesus 'I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me'. This is the truth |
| Re: Will You Meet Me In Paradise? The Story Of David by omojeesu(m): 3:13pm On Mar 07, 2017 |
maclatunji:From the Biblical point of view, paradise is NO LONGER existing or just PLAIN EMPTY. No human soul goes there again after death. Jesus took Abraham and others in paradise to heaven after His resurrection. When people die now, they either die IN CHRIST or OUTSIDE CHRIST. The former goes DIRECT to heaven. The other, unfortunately, goes to hell, direct. Salvation is to achieve the former and avoid the latter. But many die in religion not in Christ or die irreligious. |

Iamdmentor1:Your tone is too harsh! Instead ask Jesus to save them. |

Zeinymira:I would love to ask, who, in your opinion is a self righteous Muslim? I want to get the right perspective please. |
