Gionee M6 is good but, not in category with Mi5...

Mi5 is a sold out phone on aliexpress.. With less than 90k... You will have your hands on the beast Mi5..

Gionee m6 is cool in terms of battery and other features but over weighs at 180g it can be compared with phones like lenovo k5 note with theatre max and not beasts like mi5, lenovo zuk z2, leeco le max 2 etc

xiaomi does not have customer service in Nigeria (not sure)
what if the phone I bought for over 90k develops hardware problem,like broken screen, charging port issues e.t.c.
I'll prefer the Gionee m6 since they have support in Naija

Parts can be gotten from a reputable seller. I've been using xiaomi over a year and I'm yet to have hardware problem, I've broken the screen and got it replaced within a week


What I'm trying to say is, great phones that do not have customer service in Nigeria hardly develop hardware fault... I've never heard of any complain from oneplus, meizu, etc

I took my chances with innjoo and I regretted ever buying a phone that does not have customer service in Nigeria TBH. I would have loved to try xiaomi but like they say once bitten, twice shy!
and pls how strong is the phone cos I know one thing for sure, gionee products are freaking durable!

How about trying out the beauty called phantom 6. I can see no one has suggested it. It's simply cos of bias. I am a user and i have never regretted one bit. And Tecno has the most & best aftersales in Carlcare

I probably know the two devices more than u do. Although the Mi5 has better processor as it uses Snapdragon 820 chipset compared to MediaTek Helio P10 on M6, but don't forget that the Xiaomi Mi5 doesn't have SD card slot, it uses a much lower battery of just 3000mah compared to 5000mAh in Gionee M6.

Mi5 comes in three different variants and the popular variant available right now is the 3GB RAM/32GB Rom variant. The premium version of 4GB/128GB is not readily available in Nigeria. But Gionee M6 with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM is all over the country.

Remember Xiaomi doesn't have service center or support in Nigeria (for now) unlike Gionee that has functional service centers all over the country.

Gionee m6 comes with IR blaster so you can use the Phone as remote controller, it can serve as powerbank to charge other phones as well.

Most importantly, M6 is one of the most secured phone in the world right now with it's encryption features.

In terms of camera, Mi5 beats M6 in back camera but in front selfie camera, the Mi5 is not anywhere close to what M6 offers.

Camera no OIS on M6 what a blow, 4mp selfie is ultra pixel
Plus no 4K recording on M6...

If you're spending a large amount on phones, you want to go for a brand that'a well-known like tecno
Get Phantom 6, comes with 12 months warranty and after-sales service with Carlcare.

I will recommend going for the phantom 6 because you can always be guaranteed after sales services, unlike Xiaomi which doesn't have any physical customer care centre here in Nigeria. You can't always predict what fault your have tmr. My advice.

I didnt get your budget but I guess you mean 100k. For me, the best phone in that range now is phantom 6. There is a known after sales in Carlcre and u get a lot of freebies coming with it, my brothef choose and coman thank me later

The only reason people are recommending Tecno is because when it has a fault, you can take it to Carlcare.

It's surely gonna have faults cos it's designed to be faulty.

I wonder what people gain from being slaves /fan boys of a particular brand. Gionee M6 cannot even be compared with midrangers like the xiaomi redmi note 3 pro or the redmi note 4,and you compare it with a flagship Mi5? . Its like comparing a big Toyota Hiace bus (gionee M6) to a Range Rover sports (Mi5), . Op, I hope you get the drift. And I keep wondering why people talk of replacing parts of their phones when they haven't even bought it. Those bragging about Carl care should tell us what they offer apart from changing hardware parts like screen, and some very few software solutions which shouldn't take hours to fix. Anyway op, nobody can compel you , do what you want to do but, I just can't stand biased comparisons by some nairalanders who know nothing about what they compare.

Bros, you have even upped the game, none of those phones stand a chance against the mi5, and you are even talking of the mi5s, get the mi5s and get rest of mind biko, the only thing the M6 has over it is the battery backup, but in terms of every other thing, I mean EVERYOTHER thing, they are not mates at all! You should be comparing the Mi5s to a Samsung Galaxy s7. I believe I have said my last. And for those afraid of parts for xiaomi phones, you can check the Xioami thread for testimonies, you can even get the screen for far cheaper price than you get the so called available screens in the Nigerian market. Before I run there is also a pro version of the mi5, it has 4gig ram and 128gig rom also, you might also want to check that out

you guys are funny I swear comparing mi5(s) nawao for una, when am contemplating If I should get a new mi5s or used s7 edge cos both performance are close, comparing m6 and mi5 seriously guy's do you know mi5(s)+ one+ 3t and s7 top the best 2016 smartphone and they are heavily compared among each other... so when ur phone can go frm 0-80% in 30mins what do you need a bigger ba3 for.
