I learnt Israelites spent about 400yrs of slavery in Egypt.

During this period, lots of Pharaohs have ruled.

But according to ask&quora, i learnt moses approached Pharaoh Thutmose III 'let my people go'.

Not so sure it was Thutmose, I saw on Discovery Channel that Rameses III was the Pharaoh (he ruled the longest).

abagworo, Pharoahs looks was determined by which era. Early Egyptian or Late Egyptian. Rameses I, II, III, Thutmose, Nefertiti, Hapshepsut (long ruling queen), Akenatan etc would look like modern day Egyptians, Ethiopians, Eritrean,Sudanese and co. Later Pharoahs like Cleopatra and Ptolemy were Greeks and would look like dark skinned Europeans.

Went for a couple of exhibits about all of them so some stuff stuck.

Jadeite, start saving up slowly and pick a date and country you want to go to. Egypt will be cheaper but England has good museums too. No dream is too far away if you plan and make sacrifices (no buying expensive phones when you can put it in an account for a plane ticket)

Nigerians have no statues because they keep destroying them in the name of religious fervour. Some MFM pastor burnt her husband's 200 year old ancestral family masks rather than donate them to a museum. No-one wanted to speak to me the day I got a slightly old Bini bell (not up to 100 years sef but probably used in worship). That 100 large clay pot unearthed in the North last year was destroyed overnight because the natives said it was built to hold a "Jinn" (wicked spirit). Why not donate it to a museum let the spirit disturb them and you get paid to get rid of your spirit, ehh? Nigeria's biggest private collector is treated like a Juju worshipper for trying to keep most of her artifacts belonging to Nigerian hands rather than to eager foreigners.

Ramses II was arguably the greatest black Pharaoh in history and probably one of the most influential rulers the planet has ever known. His military success was legendary. It was believed his death emboldened Moses to come back and fight for the Israelites freedom.
Ironically, it was Ramses II who married the Ethiopian goddess, Queen Nefiteri,who historians believed crowned herself Pharaoh at a point.
Egyptian mythology and history is really interesting to study.

There are probably much more artifacts buried underground in ancient Kmt region, especially Egypt. In 1798, when the French army led by Napoleon Bonaparte, captured Egypt they went on a mass campaign of destroying statues in public places, cause they were envious a black civilization could be capable of such magnificent designs. They stole as many artifacts as they could and the heavy ones they buried or threw into the sea.

You're absolutely very correct!.

I just wrote an article on my blog where I warned African leaders that "history is always repeating itself" and that nobody should tell me it's all history when I talk about the past. As early as 2003, the first thing former US President George Bush did after capturing Iraq was destroy the statue of Sadam which was standing majestically in the city. And there's a reason for that- exactly the same reason Napoleon destroyed Egyptian statues, and the same reason the British stole and burnt many artifacts in other parts of Africa.


In order for Europeans to teach us we're uncivilized and incapable of building anything, they had to first destroy what our ancestors built. During colonialism there were massive looting and destruction of Benin arts, Ife arts, and all the other cultures across Africa. As I speak, nobody knows what amount of unearthed artifacts under our feet in Africa.
