It's VERY, VERY POSSIBLE customarily. And the community who practices such customs confer full legitimacy to the children born under such arrangements. The fact that the concept is so contrary to the prevailing western norms does not make the custom illegitimate where it's practiced.

Re-ea-ally? Wonders will never cease. Sorry, I still find it hard to understand this kind of practice, though. I mean, if some other family member decides to take such kids to court, to claim they are not the dead man's children, and as such do not have the right to inherit his properties, don't you think that person would win??

The custom is a very strange one, which I am still finding it difficult to understand. Getting a woman to give birth to other children who would bear the name of the man, who was never part of their conception after such a man has died, is really odd. Why can't they just adopt orphans or male children, to carry on the family name? Adoption is a certified legal process, through which children can be integrated into a family.

do you know that denying the existence of God was punisheable by death sometime ago.. it was called blasphemy.. do not doubt everything.. you are not everywhere so travel and see things.. some tribes share their wives to vistors here in nigeria.. this is my own village here in nigeria.. for confidential reasons i will not disclose the exact place partly because my cousins (late uncles daughters) use android phone and they browse too. if they snoop in here they would id me.. they are in support of their mum pls i am not joking here..
