Since its a personal account opened by OP and not a salary account opened by the employer. I dont think the bank has a right to withhold the salary amount.

Why dont you hire a staff and train the person on how to clean, mop the floor, clean the windows and even operate the cleaning equipments then tell me how you feel when the person absconds with 2 weeks of pay. Do you know what it takes to train a staff out of a tight schedule ?

You should be paid, cos training you those 2 weeks costs more than the stipend you were paid when bartered with time.

But frankly speaking, a bank withheld your account without informing you? Well im not a banker.

Anyways I don't think your bank has any right to freeze your account unless there was a report of fraud. Why don't you go to the bank to make a report and see their recommendation?

If she paid you for a month and you worked for 2wks,that's if am not mistaken.....please if UBA placed your account on restriction,kindly goan get a court order instructing them to lift the restriction as what ought to be placed on hold is the exact amount transferred to you....please be informed that an amount is placed on hold without your consent....it's after investigation when both parties have been invited and heard that's when neccessary actions are taken

[i]Your bank hold the right to withhold the specific amount transferred to your bank account as long as your previous employer can provide evidence that the payment was done in error. They do require your consent to reverse it though.

I would advise you speak or visit your previous employer and settle it with her, as long as you are certain your integrity was not in question during the period you worked for her.



[/iTo all those that said they want to see the end of the case, so this evening I got a call from UBA customer care after two weeks of battling that the hold has been removed from the fund in my acct.Note that every discussion was through mails, Twitter and calls. I never left my house or office, I never called the petty ex- employer. So there you have it, evil never prevails. God is wonderful, never give up. Peace]

It was very wrong for you to stop without notification because I guess you didn't just walk there and started work, no matter how badly she treated you, its her business not yours,reacting the way you did was very wrong... If you was in her shoes I guess you wouldn't smile at your employee and say well done...

All you have to do now is to humble yourself and go back there and apologize to her...because what you do to others, how you handle their businesses...will all come back to you someday whether you good or bad to your employees

What the bank did was very right...your action was criminal, and the best way to get your attention was to freeze your account...

So go and right your wrong...

Wonders shall never end. You don't want to accept what u did is wrong. Your boss could also have an account with the bank and she should have simply reversed the transfer unless u already used part of the funds. I will love to know the resolution of the issue
