LET US SHELVE THE IDEA OF A NEW BIAFRA

PLEASE THIS THREAD IS NOT AIMED AT BREWING UP HEATED TRIBAL AND RELIGIOUS DEBATES BUT TO REASON AND SEE CLEAR FACTS

I have always maintained that the quest for Biafra in its present form is demeaning and amounts to monumental self flagellation. A Nation State is not worn on an apron of Semitic apparel. It is also not achieved by inventing a whirlpool of invective nor by a maelstrom of vitriolic appetites. Some tips on how Israel won a Nation State:
1. They used their intellectuals and penetrated the academic and political firmament in the relevant areas of support.
2. They supported Britain in a vital first world war and exacted a commitment through the Balfour Declaration; that enhanced the return of the Jews in diaspora. They traded their tech war knowledge for a new Homeland.
3. They penetrated the UN and got a State created for them in 1948 through wheeling and dealing.
4. They traded their nuclear knowledge for political support from a vital colonial master.
5. They formed the relevant Organs of military, economic and political fronts.
6. They penetrated through superior knowledge, all the antagonistic countries and tribes that would be an impediment to the realisation of their dream State. They did not insult anybody. No noise.
7. Trained and formed an unconquerable Army of patriotic men and women.
8. This model attracts but cannot be replicated in this circumstance.
9. People talk about Biafra as if an earlier generation never endeavoured to actualise it.
10. There will never be another Ojukwu; the cult hero who galvanised a strange support for a project that had all the facades of very tall accomplishments.
11. We braved it and didn't succeed; at a monumental human, political and economic costs.
12. We have tried to reestablish in today's economy . The same group that precipitated the old crisis are prodding us to attempt another symbolic act of cowardice; to expropriate our gains so far. It shall not be well for them.
13. This recourse to an Emotional Biafra must extinguish. It demeans the Land of the Rising Sun to have charlatans chart the road of a race that has one of the most promising human capital in all the theatres of the world.
14. Our people are in some leading academic faculties the world over and must rise to chart a way of preserving our heritage and plan on how to sustain an identity that is resource and intellect based.
15. We are Nigerians and we must be bold, patient and creative enough to achieve an economic empire of our dream. No one or regime should frustrate us out of this.
16. Political Leadership may never be the ultimate (decisive) factor. Our men in business and the academua can also be the defining factor.
17. We must create ideas that will triumph all forms of real or imagined marginalisation. It is possible and doable.
18. This must be our new dimension and direction in National politics.
19. It is lazy to always quote an unhelpful Charter as the source of achieving a State of some unrealistic imagination. It sounds great but only that.
20. We must extinguish these low energy thrusts and concentrate on a long term economic, social and political trajectory that enobles us as
a people. That is our mainstay.
21. Discussing Biafra as a brand new entity is a travesty to those who laid down their lives in that pursuit. Disquisition must therefore cease in that direction.
22. We must up this game with the sophistication that befits a race that is creating an outstanding academic wave the world over. Other Nigerians are also making their marks.
23. We are Nigerians and that much must be acknowledged.

I support that write up. I have always said that Biafra agitators lack basic common sense, just like their progenitors in the 1960s.

Even Zik tried to drum it into Ojukwu's head back then, but no. His thick skull didn't allow him to learn. And he sent millions to their early graves.

It doesn't take a genius to see that Biafra can never be actualised under current circumstances, with such a massive power imbalance between the federal government and the states/regions. The former controls everything - the economy, the three arms of the military, international backing. EVERYTHING. How then can you hope to challenge them frontally? It's a recipe for ignominious, shameful defeat.

What SENSIBLE groups do is PLAN. it can take 100 years even. THEY PLAN. They retreat into their innermost cults, and make generational plans, which only the creme de la creme will know about. Most of them might not even be alive to see it to fruition.

But THEY PLAN on how they will infiltrate the government, perhaps sway it in some way towards embracing regionalism/confederation etc, as a STEPPING STONE to their ultimate objectives of separation etc etc. PLAN PLAN PLAN. By the time the secession occurs in say a few decades, due to their planning, it would be completely bloodless, and even handed to them on a plate.

I mean, I just don't understand why these people cannot employ their BRAINS in that programme. They claim to be smarter than everyone else, yet, there's no evidence of their ingenuity in the political sphere. They need to develop that, and fast. This nonsense of carrying placards all the way to London and New York is a total embarrassment, and a symbol of their weakness.

Who are you protesting to? The very same whites that are BENEFITTING from our current status quo? I mean, ''C'mon mehhhhn'', as Obama would say. Why would they listen to anything you say?

If you want Biafra, go back to the drawing board, and PLAN.

Personally I don't even think secession makes much sense. Why remove yourself from a 200 million strong market? Africa's largest? Yet you are Africa's most entrepreneurial people? What you need is market access, not isolation. What Igbo strategists should be doing is planning how to become indispensable in the Nigerian nation. Perhaps become kingmakers, and economic potentates, like the US Jews. But whatever it is they want to do, they must PLAN LONG TERM. Nothing else will work.

A word is enough for the wise.

Listen, u guys should be agitating for your own independence as well rather than having sleepless night over Biafran matter. We can even make good neighbours if you people really want cos,Biafrans are very liberal, diplomatic and open minded and ready to associate with any country that wish to. Stop this, this is pure witchcraft but you guys won't succeed. The more you try to brig Biafrans down, the more they gather momentum. Even if Biafra is not achieved today ( which I doubt), it wl b achieved tomorrow. Travel to south east and south south see yourself, even children get excited whenever Biafra is mentioned. We are not Nigerians! We are Biafrans!

The above must not be tampered with.

Israel never gave up hope of establishment of an independent state of Israel. They could have started chanting, We are Germans! for those of them in Germany.

But they didn't. They were able to hold unto their identity.

Its Ironic that the writer of this article is using Israel to compare Biafra, and yet ended up not recognizing the fact that even in Germany, Russia, America, etc Israelis never stopped being Jews! So how dare this writer tell Biafrans to stop being Biafrans and instead start being Nigerians?
Is that not a form of cognitive dissonance there?

I agree with some of the other points he raised on how we can go about achieving Biafra, like Israelis did theirs.

In the end, there is a conflict of thought on the part of the writer.
On one hand, he was advising Biafrans on how to achieve Biafra silently by copying the Israeli method.
On the other hand, he was advising Biafrans to forget Biafra and embrace Nigeria.

Verdict: The writer is confused and should not be taken seriously.

You may not agree with the opinion of the writer but you will agree the prospect of getting a biafran state is just too minute at the moment. Protests, wearing Jewish garb or biafran colors, insulting others, just won't cut it. So the unanswered question is how to achieve an independent biafra. Even the neutrals would know ipob isn't doing enough to bring the dream to fruition. After all the time wasted on protests, the jew fetishes, insulting the rest of us, you may need a plan afterall.

You are stupid to think that a union is united when its unity is only sustainable by threats.

Wake up. This is the LAST generation that will be willing to negotiate their political existence. If your arrogant political gods miss this opportunity in their delusion, the next generation won't have time nor inclination for talks and rhetorics let alone negotiation.

They will not be baited with a referendum. And restructuring would be a wasted effort.

Yes, go to Lagos. Tinubu has built mansion for all his brothers working as agberos, omo niles and oloshos there. That's why, Nigeria must remain one. Also go to Kano and Borno, Dangote has bought buggattis for all his brothers that's why none of them can be seen begging or shoe shinning.

You are a delusional liar.

No other ethnic group in Nigeria has the culture of wealth redistribution through the CULTURE of master-servant relationship. Only those in the south east do.

No other region in nigeria has its rural development championed primarily by its collective town unions and age grades. Only the sourh easteners do.

The south east you talk about today was destroyed by the federal government over 40 years ago. Yet, just a little over 40 years later, the region is rebuilt not by the government, but by the natives.

While the government gave folks from the western region schorlaships, the age grades and town unions of the economically buried (and the war torn) eastern nigeria were contributing their meagre resources and hard earned money to send the bright chaps of their various communities to school both home and abroad (for further studies).

So the point is that "onye ayana nwanne ya" is not an idea, but a life long CULTURE of the south easterners.

So just STFU.

Negotiate our unity with who and on what basis? The only basis for a dialogue will be to strengthen the union and make it even better. If you and your IPOB friends are not happy with this, you can open up a thousand rouge radio stations and organize a thousand street protests it won't change a gaddamn thing.
