THE Controller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, retired Colonel Hameed Ali, has arrived the National Assembly.


Ali was summoned by the Senate for questioning on the controversial vehicle duty already announced susupended by the NCS.

However, rather than come in his uniform, Ali was dressed in mufti.

He wore a white caftan.

On arrival, Ali met with the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

He was accompanied to Ekweremadu’s office by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang.

After about five minutes in Ekweremadu’s office, he left for Enang’s office to allow the DSP enter the Red Chamber.

Ekweremadu is presiding at the plenary, which was called to order just before press time.

However, the Senate has called for a closed door session.

Why is Ali being adamant?

Why can't Ali wear the uniform ( unless there is a law that stopped him from wearing it, in which wearing it would be him setting himself for the senate other than that I personally see nothing wrong with it) and stop these unnecessary distractions so as to focus on what he was employed to do.
