Deputy President of the Senate , Senator Ike Ekweremadu , has asked Ali why he failed to appear before the lawmakers in uniform as requested .

The Customs DG said in the last letter from the Senate to him , the lawmakers did not state that he should appear in uniform.

Ekweremadu, however , said the last letter only served as a reminder on the first letter to Ali, in which the Senate asked him to come in uniform .

Senate queries Customs CG on not wearing uniform

The Senate on Thursday queried the Comptroller General of the Customs, Col Hammed Ali for not wearing his official uniform as directed.

Responding to the question by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekeremadu, Ali claimed that the letter inviting him did not request that he should appear in uniform.
