Icon4s:Pls whom do we blame for d poor quality of d pitch or are u saying coz of bad pitch d home based don't deserve a call up. If Obinna Nwobodo is still a prospect for Eagles at 20 then something is amiss. There is need to give this guys benefit of doubt may be they have something to offer instead of saying they are not good for Eagles. My man talents abound in Nigeria league even in d schools but our major problem is that we are blindfolded with foreign based coz i don't see any reason player playing in Bosnia or Cyprus w be making Eagles squad or a player playing in division 2 or 3 in Europe. Let me tell u why i believe we can find one or two home based that can find their way into Eagles squad.I have a friend known as Emma Olisadebe who later played for Poland and was instrumental to their qualification for 2002 world cup. This guy was discovered by coach Fanny Amu during NUGA game and preparation for world university game. During world university game camping,a prolific striker in Nigeria league Edith Agoye needed to be benched for this guy coz Olisadebe was a pure class. After World University game coach Fanny Amu convinced d guy that u need to take football as a career not just playing it,as at this time d guy doesn't have a club but playing normal campus football. Fanny Amu took him to Jasper United from there to Polish league where he was scoring week in week out.He switched allegiance to Poland coz he was overlooked during Sydney 2000.This guy single handedly took Poland to world cup.A Nigeria University student that left school 1997 and find his way into Poland national team in late year 2000. Now tell me are u saying we cannot find such player again in Nigeria despite our bad pitch.I believe player like Kanu,Okocha,Amokachie,Finidi,Yekinni,Keshi,Yakubu,Mikel and of recent Mba,Oboboana of Afcon 2013 fame came out of d same league. |

forgiveness:Abeg how dem dey cap players? Na to go visit him come put cap for him head Abi? As easy as that. Cap this player cap that player all at the same time. How many matches does a national team play in a year? The coaches can only invite a handful at a time or are you telling me the national team should be rotated amongst new/uncapped players? Mind u also that friendlies are nt jst meant for capping of players they are more importantly for team building. Besides most of those ur favorite players have nationality issues to sort out. So na to just Sidon dey wait for dem na. |

Icon4s:Hehehehe! You funny die. ![]() You know how dem dey cap players na. ![]() If you identify a very talented players with dual nationally, it is expected you give them sense of belonging and quickly cap them. Noah is really a case study because Germany eyes dey for the boy but Rohr approached him and gave him a sense of belonging. They don't have nationally issues. They will play for Nigeria after the U20 WC. Tammy, Odubanjo and Lookman have agreed to pay for Nigeria. E remain Dominic Solanke whom we have not approached and Sheyi Ojo who is still lingering. ![]() |

Kog45:I only highlighted the poor quality of pitches to show my tenacity to watch d games despite it nt being TV friendly. Nobody is disputing the fact that the local league has produced numerous great players in the past. If u have known me well enough u'll know i am nt d type that will rubbish the local league. My argument spans from the look of things now, presently in 2017 and not in the 90s, 2002 or 2013. Look at the present set up of the Super Eagles do you think any player(s) from d league can offer some thing superior? That is why i first asked if u follow the league. And went ahead to ask u to name credible home based players and asked which foreign players to drop. U have answered that u dnt watch the NPFL. So it means u dnt know anything abt d current state of the players in the league. |

forgiveness:"quickly cap them" as in u quickly out of the blues organise a friendly match bc u have jst identified a talented player. Na him be say na every week NFF go dey organise match be that. Dem go organise d match finish then come begin beg the player make him come make we 'cap' am na abi? |

![]() Top Goalscoring Teenager In England Abraham Hits 19th Goal For Bristol City Published: March 17, 2017 Top Goalscoring Teenager In England Abraham Hits 19th Goal For Bristol City Bristol City have climbed three places to nineteenth on the Championship table after a 4-0 hammering of promotion-chasing Huddersfield Town at Ashton Gate on Friday night. In the 13th minute of first-half stoppage time, Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham doubled Bristol City’s advantage after steering home a low cross from Cotterill. Three minutes after the restart, the England U21 international almost notched an assist but teammate O’Dowda saw his header come back off the crossbar. Just after the hour mark, the lanky striker required treatment on the pitch after challenging for an aerial ball but it turned out it was just an injury scare, and he continued playing until the 86th minute when he was substituted. With 19 goals for Bristol City in the league, Tammy Abraham is the top goalscoring teenager in England’s top four divisions this season. In the coming days, the Nigeria target will link up with the England U21 squad for international friendlies against Germany and Denmark. ![]() How Nigeria Can Win 2018 World Cup- Kalu March 18, 20170464 Former governor of Abia State, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu has advised Nigeria on how she can win the 2018 World Cup, advising the federal government to invest in Super Eagles. He said that Enyimba winning the African Champions League back to back when he was in charge in Abia State was not magic but an outcome of good strategies. He said the motivation of players and the entire team must be key, stressing that players would give the best if they are well handled. Kalu said, “People don’t know that the coach you see when you are watching football is not the same coach you will see after 90 minutes. When they are on the pitch, they are no longer human beings. They are thinking about consequences of losing, their salaries, benefits, where else to get a job and so forth”. Kalu indeed tipped the Super Eagles to lift the 2018 World Cup in Russia. According to him football is a big business insisting that if the Super Eagles is in good shape, Nigeria can make history in 2018. The former governor said “If we are given the opportunity we can bring the cup to Nigeria. We have the material; we have everything to do it. We have the people, we have the resources. It is just applying it at the right place. “We can do it if President Muhammadu Buhari sets his mind on it. Nigeria can come back with the World Cup, this is not the first time I am saying it, we can do anything in soccer. It might sound impossible but it is very possible. I am sure most Nigerians will be very happy to see Nigeria return with the World Cup”. Asked why Enyimba still lack structure and stadium of their own despite winning the Champions League back to back, he said “the issue of running football can be expensive. We ceded the stadia we built to Enyimba. I don’t know why my successor reverted that decision. We were trying to set Enyimba back to stock market. We even called the BGL at that time to access how we can go to stock market. We were at the edge of sealing it before I left the government and I thought my successor would complete it but it was abandoned. But it is still possible. “Now, Enyimba is playing away from home and I am advising Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to do everything possible to return Enyimba to their ground. They need to be in Aba. Aba is their base and I don’t see reasons why they should not play from there”. Continuing, he said, “I built two stadia when I was governor, Aba was a playing ground and I converted it to be a stadium with a capacity to carry people . Also I built a new stadium in Umuahia. It is important Enyimba is returned because it will have positive psychological effect on both the players and supporters. Kalu also commended the Enugu Rangers International club for their strive so far, saying the club would go farther if the managers and players do their job with passion. “Enugu Rangers can also perform magic, mind you, in the old Rangers have already done mehala – wahala. “So Rangers can reinvent the mehala – wahala in Enugu again. I have a lot of respect for Enugu Rangers. It is one of the teams that I have always thought to be up there. But I believe with good pushing, they might be able to keep soaring. But the handlers and the leaders must be passionate, football is all about being passionate about it. Kalu, who was once tipped for FIFA Presidency disagreed with those that holds coaches’ decision as best. He said coaches should never be left to make decisions alone because, according to him, when they make decisions, sometimes it is very wrong. “Once they are on the line, it is a different ball game. This is why journalists were criticizing me that when I was governor, I use to be on the line. I use to do the coach’s job. They don’t know my state of mind is different. I think better than the coaches at that period. This is why I was doing the changes in Enyimba. And also hiring and buying the players myself. So, it takes a lot to build a football club. People must be honest both the holder and the beholder” he said He also denied wanting to contest for FIFA Presidency or CAF Presidency when asked about his future shots in football leadership. He disclosed that it was people that were prevailing on him to contest. “I met with Amaju pinnick many times. In fact, I was supposed to be chairman of NFF and pinnick my deputy. There is no job I cannot do in football whether it is at club level, regional or world level. My mind is always prepared to serve in any capacity because I love football like food. I love it like Dodo , moimoi, akpu or amala”, he stated . http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/877030138?-18946:4882:0 |

forgiveness:I'm not talking about quota for home based but if we can find some of them that merit it,they should be called to camp to slug it out with their foreign counterparts. But according to ICON4s,NPLF player presently are not good for Eagles which made me sad coz we cannot be going to Europe and be inviting players playing in Bosnia,Cyprus or third division just coz they are foreign based. |

Kog45:Were they invited because they play in Europe or because they merited it? I think the later is the answer. Oga u were sad that Olisadebe was ignored in 2000 while he was in the Polish league though a pure class by ur own standard. U said he merited a call up but was overlooked then, yet you implore us to repeat same mistake by overlooking these ones just because they play in the Bosnian league et al, though they are good and merit the call up. Possibly olisadebe was left out because the Polish league was seen as an obscure league that couldn't produce a talent just as u see the Cyprus and Bosnian leagues. |
