krattoss:I also would like to see Aluko in that team playing just behind the striker or as a number 10. Aluko is proven established and consistent and only 28, he probably would be supposedly one of the oldest ![]() |

jotey:Which team jelled already? ![]() We still need to bring in more players to strengthen the team and Aluko has proven himself worthy of a place. Initially, I didn't sgree with the goodjoe but after his consistence performances this season, he deserves to be called. Morever, the National team is nobody's property. If Iheanacho is not playing regulary and another player is doing so week in week out, Iheanacho should not be called to the national team.. |

jotey:He is a Chelsea first team player but due to the splendid performance of Costa he is player with the U23. Of Chelsea oooooo. ![]() The fact that we know he is talented, we should inivite him for a friendly match to ascertain his readiness to play for the Eagles. My point is let us cap him now before he becomes a superstar like Alaba and Dele. ![]() |

Kakamorufu:I would TOTALLY disagree with that in its entirety. I have followed and been in youth development in English football for several years. Wenger was a trail blazer with youth development in England football. Unfortunately the process has been hijacked, the gatekeepers that is the entry level youth coaches and recruitment scouts are paid very little money. However, big money has got into the system and everybody wants a piece of the pie. Coaches want to get paid under the table and on top of it. Corruption has been the undoing of Wenger as well as to a larger extent the fact that most clubs are doing what he started 25 years ago. Anybody showing promise is snapped up and anyone that is better than any of the cash cows is pushed to one side and excluded. Now the coaches are more interested in the deal than the players, whats in it for me is the yardstick. I know Arsenal scouts and a lot of heads of recruitment I can only vouch for not more than 3/4 who are not on the take. Wenger will get to see the players that they want him to sign because the deal has been done. Consider Cohen Bramhall from non league to Arsenal rejected by Crew Alexandria, Crystal palace, Sheffield Wednesday, etc considering he spent weeks on trial at Wednesday without an offer. He is brought in by Brian HOD recruitment at Arsenal, after two days signed by Wenger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwKgHH2eYfE Most players are moved into bigger clubs from smaller clubs very little real scouting is going on once they become teenagers. It's all about the deal because money is exchanging hands. If you are an excellent player and I mean excellent, but there is no money to be made by the gatekeepers. A average player will be given access and you rejected. This is why Wenger is not getting the best from the youth. Furthermore players can be moved out the way to make way for the preferred deal by the gatekeepers which is often foreign imports for which considerably large transfer fees are involved. Ovie was at Arsenal for almost 10 years and released at 16. Trained with our Nigerian U17 but not selected another story. Liverpool signed him and the rest is history. Consider what happened to Pogba at Man. U similar dynamics at play. |

jotey:Solanke is being courted by top clubs in the premiership and he is asking for a minimum of £50k a week. Solanke was voted by the Spanish sports press not the British as the best Youth Striker in Europe. |
