El-Rufai has always opposed Buhari becoming president of Nigeria since 2003. Seems he had no choice when Tinubu forced Buhari upon APC.
El--Ruffy went to exile abroad when Yar Adua was President. El-Ruffy is most likely to remain in exile under Buhari administration.

Having to get half-backed quacks to preside over Nigeria is not El-Ruffy's brand.

With the uncontrolled killings in Kaduna state, the governor can afford to abandon the delicate condition of the state and go seeking selfish interest at the detriment of the people of Kaduna state
Why are our leaders so selfish and non challant?

He came to Netherlands with lots of money to throw about. That is how he could easily be at the centre of Oyibo for friendship.
lol...It seems you understand oyinbo very well. You must have had some dealings with them. Only time Oyibo will give you such accordance is when they hear 1. You're a governor from Nigeria. 2. Nigeria has oil. 3.You come with a huge entourage to the school that includes personal media team, photographer, P.A, secretary etc. And all this is on state funds and state time. I wonder how one can be both a state governor and a Phd student at the same time. MSc abroad is hard enough sef. Talkless of Phd. Anyways.....na him and those that voted him sabi.

Yes...it was fanatics like Boko Haram that say that.

Not many Northern politicans, governors and leaders, who have tried over the years to promote Western Education.(One emir who is now late was even known as the educaiton emir...because his name was associated with the promtion of educaiton).

If Northern kids dont go to school, it is because of poverty.

He is doing his phd part time.

Abi you Nigerians never hear of part time programmes?

The university I graduated from offers part time degrees to people who want a university degree but are already working. Many people have gone through that programme. You come to school for 3 months during the long vacation, whenthe full time students are at home.

It is southern Nigeria people who bowed to northern Nigeria colonising the south.

Yoruba and Igbo distrust one another. So northern Nigeria colonised Yoruba land Igbo under Nigeria and tells them that Nigeria is indivisible country. But there is no indivisible country anywhere in the world.

Let me check with Buhari who went to London for treatment after he abandoned the Aso Rock clinic that was given more budget than all Teaching hospitals combined.

He is studying part time. A part time PhD programme can last as long as seven years, even longer. It is favoured among people who work because they can do their jobs and then study when free.

A British University that I know of offers part time MD (Doctor of Medicine, which in the British system is equivalent to a PhD) in tropical medicine for working doctors which lasts for seven years.

And nowadays, we have the internet. You don't need to be physically at school to get your degree, be it masters or PhD.
Oh please, how on earth is this the right time for a sitting governor who has enough on his plate in his state to be carrying out his PhD. To add salt to injury, he decides to run the programme in Netherlands.
It is wrong and we shouldn't deny this..

Is praying the only thing that you can do?
Why should El-Rufai leave his responsibilities in kaduna state to do PhD?
Who do you think is footing his bill?

Being a governor and a student in a foreign country at the same time. The law against divided interest forbids an elected person to sit in office and pursue personal things likely to distract the elected person from office duties.

But this is Buhari government, what does old Buhari remember?

Some governors now even stay in office and build private university.

It's only when the governors and Buhari leave office, lawyers can then sue for government to seize whatever was acquired illegally by the governors while they were in office.

did u read my comment at all? Am not talking abt el rufai here, am jst stating the challenges of an average post graduate student here (PhD in this case). In the case of el-rufai, d news states, part-time progrm n am sure his salaries and personal wealth can afford that course. If it were to be pull time, then i will fault him, bt otherwise i won't say anythg against him.
