jotey:E bi like say na London you dey live because if you are conversant with the Nigerian Football, you will understand what we call Nigerian factor. That is what played out in that yeye list released by Nigerian coach. It was not the best and an academy player was not suppose to make the list, no matter the circumstances but many welcomed it because we don't know what he might turn out to be. His first match was nothing near impressive but when he started playing for Arsenal, it very easy for him to agree to play for us. That one, na em bi common sense, na. ![]() |

tbaba1234:These teams you mentioned have their second teams playing playing professional football at the lower level. While in England it's totally different. Second teams of clubs in the Premiership play in the U23 development league. The so called Barca B players are allowed to train with their first team and they are registered by the Spanish FA in a list of 35+ who can feature for the first team. Your second point is invalid with due respect. That Chisom Egbuchulam signed for a Swedish team does not mean he's not better talented than some who play in more fancied league. Do you know the player of the tournament at the last Afcon, Bassogog was playing in Denmark this January? Yet game after game he proved to be unplayable while facing opponents who play in more fancied league. This should give you a food for thought. Football is not played on paper. You judge players based on their skill set and ability. Hugo Bross would not have won a game at the Afcon if he had your kind of mindset. We can't continue to wait for Europeans to buy our players before we are convinced they are good. This shows how lazy the black man is. |

chrisooblog:One word to explain Aluko's predicament at Hull City. Steve Bruce. That man is more analog than a 1960 telephone. The man did not appreciate or have he ability to put Aluko to use. We do not have a talent who can create room for our wingers and forwards to shine. Aluko's ability to hold the ball and operate in tight spaces makes him an asset to the team. We should judge Aluko by his current form and he is one of our most in form players. It defies logic not calling him because of an analog thinking Bruce. |

chrisooblog:I do not even want Aluko on the wings. I want him in the ten or support striking role where his skills becomes a quality asset to the team. With a player like Aluko soaking the pressure, it is difficult to make the wingers and forwards. Thus, creating more chances to win the game. We have delayed his call up for too long. Rohr should right the wrong done to this devoted Nigerian star. Please call-up Aluko. |

jotey:Did you read where I complained about Iwobi's inclusion to play for Nigeria while he he was still playing with Arsenal U19 team? No, My reference on Iwobi's inclusion was to buttress my case that an identified potential talented academy player eligible to play for other countries and Nigeria should be called to the national team. Period. I have proven that. ![]() |

Kog45:Can PSG lose 6-0 to a team from Cyprus or Albania,? The players u are referring to as playing in Bosnia, Cyprus or division are Musa Mohammed, Shehu Abdullahi and Dele Alampasu right? Firstly these are seasoned former youth internationals that we already know their capabilities. Musa was captain at U17 and U20. Winning d golden boot award at the AYC. Though i do not consider him as matured enough to be in the starting 11 but he is at least good enough to be in that 25man squad. Shehu Abdullahi played U20 under John Obu. He was part of the Keshi's 2014 CHAN team, he played under Oliseh, and also the Siasia's Egypt double header. He even performed very well at Rio Olympics. Shehu is a kind of player that will always make the team sheet bc he is a utility player. He plays DMF, CMF and RB all very comfortably well. For Shehu to leave the NPFL to Cyprus speaks a lot abt our local league. Shehu IMO is better than the league he finds himself playing. He is even nominated as part of the team of the season in Cyprus. As for Dele Alampasu. He is not on this list so where does division3 come in here now? Or tell me which player(s) from that Rohr's list that players division3 football. I dnt base my arguments on sentiments but objectivity and facts. U mentioned today that u dnt watch the NPFL so you are in no way in a position to advice Rohr or anybody on that. You said Rohr should look inwards, who told u he and his crew have not been watching the league? If they found no player worthy would you force it upon them to pick any player? Besides is Ikechukwu Ezenwa not a Homebased player anymore? Was there not a time when Enyeama was the only home based player in the Super Eagles? |

forgiveness:iwobi always wanted to play for Nigeria and he is proud of his Nigerian roots iwobi could have easily declined the call up and nothing go happen iwobi trained with the u-23 can ojo do the same? anywhere your heart dey na there e dey be that recently been called up by coach Sunday Oliseh for the international friendly matches against Congo DR and Cameroon, spoke exclusively to Goal from his base in London. An attacking midfielder who can also play as an attacker, Iwobi trained with the Nigeria U23 squad tutored by Samson Siasia ahead of an All-Africa Games qualifying return leg match against Zambia in March 2015 but couldn’t play. Now that he has gotten Fifa clearance and the chance to play for his fatherland, the elated 19-year-old had this interesting chat with Goal’s correspondent Shemmy Sholabomi. Goal: How are you looking forward to your first cap for the Super Eagles in friendly matches against strong African teams Cameroun and Democratic Republic of Congo? Alex Iwobi: It’s a privilege to be invited to this great Nigerian national team and also to represent my fatherland. I just look forward to playing. I can’t wait to join the Nigerian team for the two friendly matches in Belgium. It is a great honour to put on the Nigerian green-white-green jersey. You will be playing alongside top-rated Nigerian players like Mikel Obi and Victor Moses and others, are you ready to prove yourself as a quality striker among them? Well I can’t wait to play with the world class players that abound in the Nigerian team. I am still young and I am still learning the trade, so playing alongside these great players will do a lot of good to my playing career and most especially the development of my game and my future as a football player. It will definitely give me the needed national team experience like I am experiencing with my club Arsenal now having been promoted to the first team. How much do you know about the Nigerian national team coach Sunday Oliseh? I used to look up to him when I was younger. I knew him to be a great player. He had great technique as a defensive midfielder and he shielded the ball well and took shots too. So I am eager to work with him and I believe he will bring out the best in me. You are a player that can play as a striker and as an attacking midfielder. But what is your preferred position as a player that can bring out the best in you? I prefer to play as an attacking midfielder, but in Arsenal because we have a lot of talented players so I just have to play on both the right and left wings as the boss pleases. If anything my preferred position is playing behind the strikers. How do you feel breaking into the first team of Arsenal Football Club? I was very happy because I just wanted to play for this team. Arsenal is one of the best clubs in the world so it is a rare and great privilege to be in this team and to play for the first team. I think I am lucky to be chosen and I try to do everything I could to prove my inclusion whenever I am called upon by our manager to play. Yes I am happy and bouncing but I still wish I can get more minutes of playing time that any young player like me will crave to get. The Manager Arsene Wenger is known for giving young players the opportunity to play, most especially in the Carling Cup and FA Cup. How soon do you think you can break into the starting XI? I sincerely pray against having injuries which I believe can slow down any player. Since the boss (Arsene Wenger) didn’t want me to go on loan this season then I think I should be involved in the team’s programmes this season. I have been working hard too on and off the field of play to always justify my inclusion in the team any time my boss calls on me to play. Finally, what is your message to your fans across the globe now that you have gotten the opportunity of playing for your fatherland, Nigeria having been promoted to the first team of Arsenal? Well I can’t wait to show hopefully what I can do on the pitch for my country. I sincerely hope there will be more opportunity for me henceforth to put on the green-white-green jersey of Nigeria and to help win trophies for my country. I am excited to play for a great country like Nigeria and a great team like the Super Eagles |

goldfish80:Porto B players train with Porto, Jong Ajax players trained with Ajax first team.. This structure is in Germany too. The exceptional ones make it to the first team but most of them don't. Chisom Egbuchulam was taken on loan.. He was not signed by the swedish club. Signing him is subject to his performance over the loan period. For the best player in the Nigerian league last season, that is poor. I have no doubt that there are gems in the Nigerian league but they have to show it. Good thing, they have the CHAN to show how good they are. |
