My comments are not questioning Wolfsburg rational for signing him.

But how on earth did we invite a player to the Eagles who has from comments posted here not kicked a ball for quite some time. And not played one game for Lowly Wolfsburg a team looking at relegation. That's just incomprehensible.

Wolfsburg is not a Chelsea, Barcelona, Bayern or PSG, etc with World class players blocking the progression of youth players.
The only reason, he has not played is injury not ability. He was just signed professionally in January after he turned 18.

Also, i think rohr is looking more into the future with some invitations.

And Victor Moses and Iheanacho are not yet in camp? I am sure that Nacho would be there before the end of the day but VicMo might try to skip this one. I would really recommend for the NFF to ban Victor Moses if he skips this friendly game.

if we can't win without Victor Moses, so be it. We need to put an end to this kind of shakara.

BU Chelsea has confirmed his injury .... let hope he will play in the second friendly match.

Really? The same Gomez that started matches for Germany at the Euro's? Wolfsburg made it to the quarter finals of the champions league just last year. Calling them a championship level team is a joke.
One player doesn't make a team. Is he still world class huh huh huh Debatable his best days are certainly behind him he has been at the top and he is on his way down. Why else do you think Bayern sold him off.

See, i have always been at the fore front of calls for drafting of our NPFL youngsters into our U20 and U23 teams.

We have a lot of young and talented players from d local league who can compete favorably well with youngsters in Europe and S. America at these age grade competitions.

I once raised questions about Odey not being part of the Amuneke's U20 team. TheGoodJoe will recall that discussion.

I personally believe that with d current trend of movements in the local league any good player would have left for Europe or elsewhere before they are 25yrs old. I dnt take any player above 25 still playing in the local league serious.

Talks like "Rohr should dig deep into the NPFL and he may unearth a rare gem".
If there is a rare gem in the league, u dnt need to dig deep to identify the person. His name should be ringing on everybody's lips. His performance will unearth him and not Rohr.

Even with the call for home based players inclusion the only name i have even heard here is Stephen Odey. That tells a lot.
I think we are on the Page as far as Age Bracket is concerned!

Have you seen Sunday Faleye of 3SC play?! That Guy is a Talent, and he's 18 Years old I guess!

I think this action of his is better and commendable

If you've got injury come to camp and be assessed by the camp medical personnel so that rumors will cease

there is a great difference between poor and quiet game. Kanu had a quiet game yes but not a poor game. Ejike Uzoenyi had a poor game for the most part of the match, that's the difference.
Pls analyse how Uzoenyi was poor in that match and i w keep quiet.

so does that mean that he wasn't poor for 60-70 mins of the 90 minutes? Which one is a lie?
If he was that poor in the game I suggest you petition CAf to strike his name of the man of the match in the game.
Infact his performance in that game propelled him to be named the "undisputed" player of the tournament. Its very rare to pick a player as the player of the tournament if he's on the loosing team. But Ejike was named player of the tournament from a team who came 3rd.

Please put up the petition. I can't wait to append my signature on it.

It is the same point, i have been making over and over again but you would rather think, i have something against Chisom because i mentioned his name a few times.

There is no campaign of calumny against any one or even against the league.

You would not have to think that if you were reading carefully.
I tagged it campaign of calumny because of the so many wrong allusions, innuendos and some colourful statements you've used in the last few pages to tag NPFL players and products. It appears to me you throw rationality through the window at the mention of NPFL.

I am an advocate for the Nigerian League. I watched most of the highlights of games last season even though I am not in 9ja. But, I am also a realist and want the best for the Super Eagles. I am yet to be convinced by the quality of the league.

The argument is not about talent, it is the fact that they play in an environment that does not support growth. Also, players need to be tested at a higher level to know if they are worth it.
For every Etebo, there are several more who did not live up to the hype.

"Warri no deh carry last "

May seem somewhat light hearted humour. But this is serious, once you have all the physical attributes the next thing is mental resilience.

A kind of dogged stubbornness fused with self belief in the face of hostile odds and unfair competition and sometimes inhospitable supposed team mates.

This is the European environment that our boys out of Naija sometimes for the first time in thier lives. Have to fight and obtain a professional football contract.

No wonder they struggle and fail sometimes

very well said. But let's not forget that Etebo could not make the cut in Manu Garba's U20 but made Dream TEam VI.. Siasia always believed in him. while with Warri Wolves he was not necessarily generally seen as one of the best in the league.. Many players on people's lips didn't live up to the hype.. I believe there are rare gems in the league.. But the coach has to know when they see it, even when others don't. Let's be patient with Rohr.

Let's leave these coaches. Coaches know what they are looking for in a player, especially as regards to their playing philosophy.. so far I'm impressed with Rohr. He will definitely look inwards as long he is attending league matches, who are we to say he is intentionally ignoring NPFL players?

Let me recho what you just said, "For every Etebo, there are several more who did not live up to the hype."
Very well said my brother.

You speak as if Etebor has arrived but he hasn't. Its not like he's been exactly pulling up trees in Portugal this season. Someone gave him an opportunity and he shined. Who knows who else might shine when given the opportunity, that has been my sermon all this while.

If like you said, some disappointed and didn't exactly grow like they should perhaps we should ask ourselves if they were managed properly. Was Sunday Mbah managed well? After the Afcon his career was almost killed with the roforofo between Rangers and Warri Wolves. Most clubs who came for him was put off by all that shenanigan. National team call up stopped coming because he was clubless , in less than a year he was signed by a French 3rd division team. Things happen quick win football.
Mba became a victim of the system we operate due to no fault of his. The system have swallowed a lot of talented players that only the fee who have survived have been by sheer luck and providence.

Even more shocking that means he has not played any games to make deductions about his ability currently. So we invited him on the basis of past youthful football glory even more ludicrous.
Osimhen got invited because Rohr had deep information on his progress during his preparation at Wolfsburg. Rohr is an important man in Germany when it concerns youth football. He invited Osimhen to camp and reports said Osimhen was good. Rohr said the reason why he did not call Osimhen to camp was not to destabilize his confidence.

The friendly was a good opportunity for Rohr to give the young man who impressed him some game time. Nothing wrong at all with that.
