Although i am running the Nigerian Institute of Management, I believe there is still more specialized skills that could be acquired even in this service year for me. So Elders that are in the corporate world please tell me what certification, will in the long-run make me get even better.

For Business Administration, an MBA is the way to go. But it also depends on the area of business. It's not a bad idea to get a PMP certification.

I will advice you to look for something u can do with your hand (skill) and solve people problem or look for a trade to learn that will make u become your own boss which will automatically increase your bank acct. Bsc certificate is ok and enough why getting more which will only get you a salary job and then you become a slave for life.
At this our generation i dont and i will never advice any graduate to look for white colla job when there many opportunities in this country. This is 2017 bro a lot things have changed compared to the days of our parents. This is just the bitter truth and reality on ground. Think outside the box and stop following the old ways which i thing is no more applicable this days.

Certifications?? none particularly.
The Nigerian labor market unfortunately only recognizes ICAN or CIPM as the case may be.

There are others like project management etc or better still it depends on the field the individual finds him or herself.

Other than this, an MBA is in order.

Most new graduates are basically asked for 2:1 which to be fair I think is somewhat illogical.
So yes! Getting certifications like ICAN may help.

Boy, you got trained to be jobless! That is the truth. Go for professional courses like ICAN.

The beauty of Business Administration is that it's a broad course/program. You can specialize in so many fields upon graduation. So my advice is this, don't rush to get unnecessary certifications now that you are still doing your national service, although the NIM you are currently doing is not bad but wait until you get a job before acquiring more. If you need to get anything before securing a job, it should be an MBA. Like I said earlier, Business Administration is a very wide field, after you have secured employment, you may wish to get more certifications that will be highly relevant and needed in the area you are specialised which could be in marketing department, finance and accounts department, human resources, purchasing and supply chain department etc. Again don't rush certification for now

Note..ur NIM is useless.

If you want a career in the business world..start with an ICAN or ACA,CIPM OR CISA...when u get a job start ur MBA then u can do ur DBA letter...

You don't need any certificate. You need knowledge.

You need to understand what you were taught in your undergraduate courses. Know why a certain theory/rule is the norm.

Your Bsc certificate is enough to get you inside the room, your knowledge would keep you in the room.

You need to be sure of which line of career you want to follow or pursue. However, there are qiute a number of certification you can have that will greatly help you to get on the right career track.
you can try any of the following and be sure you will not sturggle to get a good job (it might not be high-paying, but sure good)
- ICAN
-CITN - Chartered intitute of taxation
-CIPM (Chartered institute of personnel Management
- CISA
- CISM
- CFA
- ACCA.....and a lot of others.
If you can make up your mind to invest in any of these, be sure you will never regret ever doing so.the reward is just in few years time.

ICAN however, it can only get you to the door, your knowledge and exposure will open the door. I'm talking from experience as a chartered accountant certified by both ICAN and ACCA.

While looking for cerifications, you could also start looking within your locality identifying business opportunities and other ways you could argument your alawee. E.g. home tutoring, organising execution for schools (you could combine several schools on one trip), laundry and dry cleaning (you don't have to be the washer/ironer, outsource and serve as the intermediary).
