I will advice you to look for something u can do with your hand (skill) and solve people problem or look for a trade to learn that will make u become your own boss which will automatically increase your bank acct. For Business Admin graduates, I'll recommend Project Management Certification. PMI's PMP is a good option. If you can't meet its requirement then PMI's CAPM or Comptia Project+ would be a good starting point.

I read Business Admin and I know what it is to be a graduate of that course. In the Nigerian Job market, you are rated as a glorified office clark. They assume you know small of every thing management but not a specialist. I will use my experience to give direction on career and certification.

One of the best option is in financial management. This will lead you to be come a financial Analyst, Budget planner and investment manager. For this, you should head straight to CFA or ACCA certification and build your Microsoft Excel skills for financial modeling. This is a highly selling job now so yu can decide.

Another option is Database Administration. Oracle or Microsoft sql server is okay. This time, your job will be financial data management. Many organizations depend on Database Admin for financial data collection, retrieval and reporting and it pays well too.

If you must do MBA, it should be for Marketing and no other. There, you must focus on sales management, marketing management and market research - customer insight, product development etc.

i admire and respect your humble response, but the truth is that if majority or let say 70% of fresh nigeria graduates want white cola job considering the high rate of unemployment in the country dont u think they will be left frustrated after years of being unemployed. I,m not saying that everybody should become entreprenuer, but what i,m advocating is that let the majority of our youths esp the graduates think outside white colla jobs and find something doing no matter how small it is (i will soon open a blogsite for this) so that in a long run he will expand and be an employer of labour. I,m currently in my final year in the university studying marketing, very soon after my graduation i will set up my business and apply all the marketing principles and concepts i have learned into my busness.
Being self employed is the best advice i will give any graduate any time any day.

I'll suggest you decide what you are really good at within all the modules you were taught at school(was it the accounting, finance,supply chain., marketing) and specialize in it. If you are going accounting, get your ACCA (preferably if you intend working overseas,this is very valuable in some countries), Supply Chain(APICS). If you want to specialize as a business analyst, get both PMP and CCBA (start with CCBA then progress to the last which is CBAP i think). Believe me if you got PMP and CBAP, and you can utilize the concepts in a business structure, e don be for you be that. It is highly sought and the pay is really good. If you don't get a job after passing your exams(believe me, you should get a job), just liaise with your local body(You should always be engaged with your local body for networking reasons and learning).
