There is the problem, naturally we have comfort zones and Rohr comfort zone is German / Dutch football. This is where his experiential competencies rest, his abilities as a coach are not in doubt.

However, he is like an expert fishermen who only knows river Ethiope and refuses to fish in the wider Atlantic ocean where there is much more fish.

His limited knowledge of English football is a handicap.

Finally he contradicts himself if he had his finger on the button he would know Osimhen has not played a competitive game in a long time and is injured. So why on earth invite him to camp. Doesn't make sense. Are there no other options

The EPL is superior to the Bundusliga in my opinion the lower half of the Bundesliga is on par with the Championship.

Consider the Francophone African countries where do the bulk of thier players learn thier trade and develop from

Having enjoyed series of brilliant performances in the colours of reigning Premier League champions, Leicester City, Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi is gradually proving his worth in England.


Despite joining the team during the winter transfer from Genk in the Belgian league in a deal worth £17 million, the former youth international has endear himself into the heart of most Foxes fans, who are still struggling to cope with the departure of N'Golo Kante to Chelsea.


His superlative display against Sevilla in the Champions League has made some football pundits and analysts raise eyebrow on the Nigerian international, which has been compared to Kante.


With two Champions League and seven Premier League games on his belt, his presence in the team is gradually yielding effect in the team. In place of Kante’s Energizer bunny scurrying came Ndidi’s long-limbed contortionism; concerned, as was his predecessor, simply with winning the ball and laying it off to the more expansive ball players.


Besides, since joining the Foxes this winter, he has developed so quickly, making an impressive tackles, shielding the defence frequently, releasing passes in earnest and gradually developing the habit of scoring goals when the opportunity comes. After switching from central defence to central midfield at the beginning of last season, Ndidi became the Belgian outfit's most important player with his ability to cover ground and break up opposition moves in the engine room.

Interesting article but Mikel does not play a deep defensive midfield role for the Super Eagles. He mostly had Onazi behind him in most of the games. If Ndidi is to replace a player, it is Onazi. We still have Etebo who can play an advanced midfield role and I will pick him over Ndidi. We also have Aluko.

Ndidi will keep playing a defensive midfield role.

For west African players, IMO most peak from 23 to 26. Any where in between. 27 is too far self.

It depends on the position, strikers generally peak around 24-27. Defenders and goalkeepers are usually better with experience. A Goalkeeper could be hitting his peak around 31-35. Defenders 28-31.

You may be right about the goalies and for defenders in other parts of the world. But for West Africa most of our defenders peak just shortly after their mid 20s.

Eg how old was Taye Taiwo when he was discarded?
How old Is Ambrose that we have discarded him already. What of Obaobona? What if Oshaniwa?
U and I know Echiejile has passed his peak. Omeruo at 23/24 seems to be on a declining curve.

Joseph Yobo peak when he was at Everton. He was in his mid 20s then. U and I know how we managed him in the national team for the last 3 or so years of his career.

I just gave examples of our recent defenders who are still seeing and can relate with.

If I go way back to Chidi Odiah and Babayaro.
U know Celestine peaked when he was at Chelsea. How old was he then. He was there between when he was 19 and 27yrs.Recall the greater part of his last 2 seasons there were spent on the bench. Taiwo took over from him when he(celestine) was 27. Odiah peaked while he was at CSKA and also the 2006 AFCON he was 25/26 then.

I can still go on way back. But let me stop here for now.
