Southern Universities/ Polytechnics are the worst as compared to the Southwest Institutions. I'm from the Southeast Origin but I schooled in the Southwest, infact OaU to be precise and I can categorically say that I never sorted a dime for my admission up until I graduated, we were never even compelled to by one useless handouts.
A brother of mine got admitted to UNIZIK he asked to cough out N200Kfor admission.

To me i think colleges are more corrupt especial colleges of health technology e.g. College of Health Technology Offa: its students (if not oloshos are c***st and so dull!), lecturers (hmmmm!...no one word to describe), and the school management (they can extort! weeding fee40k, carryover fee10k, exam fee...)...
Followed by polytechnics: where two pages of materials cost more than the whole textbook...

in Keffi, you don't need to read or research just have your money, you would pay your way to first class.
from experience, the first generation universities in the country are still lots better in terms of sanity.

paying to get admission is due to the fact that each admission year hundred of thousands of students who met the cut-off mark flood the tertiary institutions in the east while the available admission space are very few,less than 4000 students are to be admitted,this where extra legs and hands makes the difference.if you go to the north,u may not have to pay,the southwest always have a penchant for free education since awolowo spoilt them with free education.hypocrisy is when you bash people for paying to get admission but end up paying to get a federal job or any other job by hook or crook.

common...not only in Igbo schools. most rhe Nigerian schools are so corrupt especially their PG schools. I for one dol out my hat for EBSU

Guess what they told me after informing them I graduated from UNIPORT ? they do not accept the school's certificate because of a lot of suspected malpractices. They do not know if it is true but people like you who have decided to wash the school's dirty linen outside has made things more difficult for graduates of the school.
