You send your pikin to the university, and for four years you labored hard to make sure he had what he needed to focus on his studies.

Then he finishes and comes home with a third class certificate and he's dancing up and down for joy.

Be honest, what would be your first reaction?

Honestly u are right but d way d society is looking down on 3rd class graduates is not helping matters. A friend of mine is back in school after graduating from a university with 3rd class. He bagged an MSc but he was not able to get a good job with it. There was a time he attended an interview after he had passed d aptitude test with over 70% pass mark. The person dat was interviewing him asked him wat are his hobbies and he replied reading and browsing. D guy said he is not saying d truth cos if he loves reading how can he come out wit a 3rd! Since dat day d guy has vowed to remedy d deficiency and he is currently in yr 2 in a state university after he had obtained 2 PG diploma cert and a Masters degree and d guy is ard 32 years old.
My advice is if u are in sch or u finished with 3rd,i tink its better to run another degree just to save ur self from embarrassment.

Firstly, I don't understand what you meant by former lecturers.
Secondly, I knew some lecturers with Second Class lower.
But believe that second class lower or third class, you have to go for post graduate and/or master degree before you can dream of becoming a lecturer. Except you're talking about mushroom higher institutions.

True they did a post graduate diploma and yes a Masters like I plan on doing very soon.... But my point is Dat dey didnt allow a 3rd class lose track.... Like I told someone too it became a wake up call to dem.....

Grades wouldn't determine how far u'd go would be a word I wouldn't ever believe until it happens to me. I suffered from clinical depression and fell from 2.2 to a 3rdy in my final year. Buried my head in shame and all that depressive thoughts and notions but man, today. I am going places my mates have never been. Gods grace!!! Major key

In bill gates case he dropped out cuz he had a passion he wanted to pursue, same with Zuckerberg, larry elison and so on. If these guys actually stayed and graduated do you think they wouldhave made 3rd class??

I have spoken the truth. There are others in his class that came out with at last second class lower.

My issue with him isn't that he had a third class, That's for his parents or whoever sponsored his education to ponder on, my issue with him is the fact that he feels justified in having a third class because a classless human being in the form of a Senator allegedly also had a third class.

Then he came to flaunt his failure in our faces. The appropriate attitude is shame not joy.

And yes degree do not justify success in life at all, but it definitely a stepping stone where you can launch your career.

Lets be honest, some people do not do well in uni due to circumstances beyond their control, while some simply do not do well cuz they werenot serious. If you went to uni you will definitely know what i am talking about. The OP seems to he in the later category cuz he is a poser. Going by his threads, he was d fine boy party type tht did not takehos studies serious. Now he is a graduate he is trying to justify his degree with that of another person.

In all Are you excellent ,average or below average or poor you don't want any one calling you Stupid or dull in parts of your life you've failed. Career is only a part of our life if you have 1/100(other aspects of your life) are you really successful
