NFF – Rohr Focused On Qualifying Eagles For World Cup 2018 Not Salary Issues

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/image-68.jpg

A top official of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed reports making rounds that the coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr is being owed three months salary by the football house.

Rohr joined Nigeria in August on a salary reportedly worth $47,000 a month, but the Franco-German coach has only being paid two months salary since taking over the team.

However, the NFF official who confirmed the news of Rohr being owed salary said the coach is pre occupied with preparations for the upcoming AFCON 2019 qualifiers and the resumption of the World Cup 2018 qualifiers in September.

” We are owing Rohr, but for now the coach is focused on the job at hands, because he trust the NFF will pay him as soon as cash is available. He is not entirely new to situations like this”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” When he managed the national team of Niger Republic, Gabon and Burkina Faso, he witnessed same issues but he eventually got paid. We (NFF) are not happy but some situations are best managed due to issues beyond our control”.

''Africa has got talent and Okwonkwo is one for the future. He has everything to succeed and I believe he is at the right club to make it to the top,'' Arthur told GHANASoccernet.com

Ex-Super Eagles Striker Peter Ijeh : I Am Alive But I Am Like A Dead Ghost

https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/71618Ijeh.jpg

Retired Nigeria international Peter Ijeh has revealed that he is facing tough times after hanging up his boots.

Ijeh is suffering from asthma and his application for a new job has not yielded results following his departure as coach of Assyriska BK. The striker does not know he got the disease but has complained about the Scandinavian weather.

“I’m alive but I’m also dead. I am like a dead ghost that continues to go. Every time I go to town, people say: Look at him, it’s him and not in a good way,” Ijeh said to Göteborgs-Posten.

“Still Clubs are afraid of my applications. I do not understand why they did not respond. I see no reason. I did nothing wrong. I’ve paid the price, I still do. It is pathetic.

“I feel bad, I’ll admit. At this stage, it should not be me, hunting for a job.

“Something is wrong with the system, howto get the right people to the right place. Oris it just about who knows whom.

”The 40-year-old Ijeh starred for Malmo FF, IFK Gothenburg, FC Copenhagen, Viking FK, Syrianska FC and GAIS before he retired in 2012.

(Photo) Ndidi, Musa Resume Training With Leicester City

https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/41793Musa.png

Ahmed Musa and Wilfred Ndidi have returned to Leicester after international duty with the Super Eagles.

Both players were pictured training with the Premier League champions on Thursday morning, ahead of Saturday’s clash against Stoke City in the Premier League.

The midfielder and striker started Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with Senegal at the Hive Stadium a week ago, but Musa had sought permission to leave the Crowne Plaza Hotel before Monday’s practice game due to an urgent family matter.

Musa has 30 appearances to his name to date since completing his move from CSKA Moscow just before the start of the season, while Ndidi would play his 13th game if he gets to feature against the Potters.

Leicester City sit 15th on the table with 30 points in the kitty after 28 matches played.

https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/60711Moses.jpg

The Germany U23 international has been scouted by The Blues manager Antonio Conte ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old will enter the final twelve months of his contract with Hoffenheim in the summer, and the club may cash in in the next few months or lose him for nothing at the end of the 2017-18 season.

Icon4s:
Good question.

Musa will still not be a regular.

Rohr typically plays 4-5-1
But he may chose to alter it to a 4-4-2 depending on how the game is progressing.

Recall in the last game against Senegal, Rohr started with a 4-5-1. But as we went a goal down he saw the need to switch formation and adopted a 4-4-2 with Kayode playing SS to Iheanacho. Or some may even say 4-3-3 if u consider Success as a striker in that game. That is what I am talking about. He may also be a candidate for that SS role.

You dnt expect to always get the first goal in every game. Rohr has been opportune to always be ahead in all his 3 previous games which is why he had always maintained that 4-5-1 till the end. So what happens if u find urself a goal or two down? You need to quickly switch formation and make it more attack minded. This is where Musa can be introduced as an SS. His pace and direct play can be used to unlock difficult defenses.

Ahmed Musa has eyes for goals. Recall when he was at CSKA how he often played the SS role to Seydou Dumbia. There were also games where he played as a CF.
Ok, now I understand what you were saying. Still I wouldn't think of looking for Musa when I am a goal down, the guy has some games where he will be absolutely clinical, but when he is off, he is simply off. He might even fall down in front of the keeper when he is off

Cameroon Federation Expose Montreal Impact Defender For Lying He Was Abandoned In Brussels

https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/7183Ambrose.jpg

All is not well with the Cameroonian national team ahead of two crucial World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria.

The players almost missed their lunch because their hotel bills were not paid for at the Parker Hotel before the friendly with Guinea, now, Montreal Impact defender Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo claimed he was abandoned in Brussels because his flight was not paid for.

“I’m stuck because I do not have my ticket back. I’m here waiting, no one is giving mean answer,” Bitolo said to camfoot.com.

“You give your heart, your soul, your life for your nation, but others do not recognize your worth.

“But in any case, you will not discourage us. We were born in Cameroon, we grew up in Cameroon. We are not going to abandon our country.”

The Cameroonian National Team Coordinator André Nguidjo has rubbished the claims of Bitolo, stating that the player was sent his round-trip plane ticket in advance, and wondered how he got to Brussels without his traveling document.

A FECAFOOT source added that Bitolo decided to stay back in Brussels for one more day after the training camp, and unfortunately could not get a flight to Montreal on Wednesday evening.

Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo started every single game for the Indomitable Lions at the 2017 African Cup of Nations.

Conte Provides Update On Fitness Of Super Eagles Star Victor Moses

Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has provided an update on the fitness of Nigeria international Victor Moses ahead of the Premier League tie with Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The winger had to withdraw from the Nigeria squad during the international break because he had not sufficiently recovered from the calf injury he sustained against Manchester United.

Though Conte did not mention names, reporters at Friday’s press conference were specific and asked him about the injury update on Costa, Courtois, Moses and Terry.

Conte replied : “It is important to check two or three situations and then to make the best decisions.

“This week wasn’t easy to work because some have come back with some problems and it is proper now to check and wait and decide tomorrow. “I have two or three situations.”

Moses has started the last 22 games contested by Chelsea in the English top-flight, including the 2-1 win at Stoke City, where he had to play through the painbarrier.

Ogu : I wish Alli, Alaba Played
For Super Eagles

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu is
confident the team will no longer lose
players of Nigerian heritage to other national
teams, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Some high-profile players with Nigerian blood
like Tottenham's Dele Alli (England) and
Bayern Munich's David Alaba (Austria) opted
for other national teams, a situation Ogu
hopes will change soon.
"Every weekend, I sit at home and watch
Alaba or Dele Alli doing it big for other
countries and not ours," Ogu tweeted on
Wednesday. "We have the power to not
allow such.
"I'm happy because we have the power not
to repeat losing our players to other nations.
All the boys who were in camp always want
to learn."
There are a number of foreign-born Nigerian
players now in the Super Eagles, including
Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong and new
boys Tyrone Ebuehi and Noah Bazee.
Hapoel Be'er Sheva star Ogu, who played for
the Eagles in Thursday's friendly against
Senegal in London, is pleased to be in the
squad with these players and the rest of the
squad.
"I had a great time in the super Eagles camp
in London to be honest," Ogu, who recorded
and posted a number of team-bonding
videos online, added. "Ten days out with the
coaching crew and staff was a great
experience.
"Then I met all the players and I was super
happy at the talents I was in camp with .It is
time to give credit to the president Amaju
Pinnick.
"We have the talents now, we have a
president who has big plans for our football,
we the coaches who care about our local
league as well .

@PinnickAmaju was addressing us about his

TAMMY ABRAHAM: IS THE
RECORD-BREAKING TEENAGER
THE FUTURE OF CHELSEA?

The striker impressed again on loan at Bristol
City and looks certain to take his goals to
Stamford Bridge in the years to come
Antonio Conte doesn’t deal in hyperbole.
Though the Italian has been a picture of fire
and emotion on the sideline since his arrival
at Chelsea last summer, in the press room
he’s shown a completely different side.
Uncombative, cool and measured, the Blues
boss, with his improving English, has always
given the sense he carefully considers every
word before letting them leave his mouth.
So it’s why it mattered when, in October, he
delivered his assessment of young Blues
striker Tammy Abraham: “He is the future for
Chelsea, for sure."
That was in October, and Abraham had just
opened the season with 11 goals in his first
17 appearances on loan at Bristol City in the
Championship. Five months on, that goal tally
now stands at 22 after the 19-year-old’s
impressive strike played a leading role in the
Robins’ 4-0 thrashing of high-flying
Huddersfield Town on Friday.
Cutting across his marker just before half-
time, Abraham met David Cotterill’s
penetrating ball and tucked home a brilliant,
first-time finish. It was another example of
the remarkable prowess in the penalty
area of a youngster who will see his FIFA 17
FUT rating on the rise.
Selected as one of Goal’s 50 Rising Stars of
FUT, Abraham is the hottest talent to have
emerged from the latest youth crop produced
by the Chelsea academy.
Since joining the west London outfit in 2004,
the striker has progressed through the ranks
and enjoyed two sparkling seasons in front of
goal in 2014-15 and 2015-16. With 74 goals in
98 games, Abraham powered Chelsea to
consecutive FA Youth Cups and UEFA Youth
League titles.
But youth football is not a perfect platform
and both Chelsea and Abraham knew it.
After including him in the senior squad’s pre-
season camps, the club sent the striker to
Bristol City in August to get him both regular
minutes and experience in dealing with the
rigours of senior football.
It's been a breakout season for the towering,
athletic striker who reminds many of Didier
Drogba. Abraham has become the first
teenager ever to score 16 or more goals in a
Championship season. His 19 league strikes
have him third in the division’s scoring
charts, and he’s added a further three in cup
play.
“There’s a massive difference [between
youth football and senior football] because
you’re coming up against players who are
bigger, stronger and faster than you, so you
have to try to find the weakness of your
opponent and exploit that. It’s more about
your mentality and looking after yourself,” he
told Chelsea’s official website earlier this
month.
The evidence available suggests he’s doing
exactly that. Conte has spoken of Abraham’s
“great potential in the technical and physical
aspects”, but even he must be surprised by
the speed of the youngster’s emergence.
When you’re 19, your goal tally in the league
in your first senior season is not meant to
match your age. But then, Abraham is not
your typical 19-year-old. As Conte says, he’s
the future of Chelsea.

Exclusive – List Of More England Youth Internationals On The Verge Of Switching To Nigeria

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/image-60.jpg

Following the successful capture of Chuba Akpom, Ola Aina, Ebere Eze and Josh Maja, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has set it’s sight on snaring more players from the English youth set up eligible for Nigeria at senior level.

Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal that five Anglo Nigerian players have been approached by the NFF, with discussions set to be at an advanced stage.

Millwall’s highly rated midfielder Fred Onyedinma has given his words to officials of the NFF about his commitment to the Super Eagles and only missed training with the team due to Club engagement as he played in his team 0-1 loss to Swindon on Saturday.

On loan Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham was not involved in the training session as the Bristol City man was with the English U-20 side, and he is also one of those who have given his words to the NFF about making a decision on his senior international future in the summer, but his father’s close ties with Amaju Pinnick the president of the NFF could work in Nigeria’s favour.

Everton’s Ademola Lookman is yet to decide on his international future, but a staff of the NFF revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com that Lookman will most likely switch to Nigeria after the European U-21 tournament later in the year.

Also on the NFF list is Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Dominic Iorfa Jnr who met with coach Gernot Rohr during his visit to see Carl Ikeme, and gave his words to the German coach of the Nigerian team that he will team up with Nigeria in the summer.

20 year old Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo who moved to the League one side from Staines Town in 2015 has also had contact with the NFF, and Owngoalnigeria.com can report that he has made himself available if called up by the handlers of the Nigerian team.

Rohr Urges NFF To Clear Chelsea Star From FIFA – We Need Ola Aina For South Africa, Cameroon Game

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/image-64.jpg

The coach of the Nigeria senior national team has asked the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to do the needful for Chelsea Ola Aina to be ready to make his debut for Nigeria later in the year.

Nigeria will take on South Africa in June in the AFCON 2019 qualifiers, before playing back to back games against Cameroon when the World Cup 2018 qualifiers resumes in September, and Rohr is hoping Aina would have been cleared before the games.

”Aina is the one name Rohr is keen on adding to his squad for the upcoming conpetative games of the Super Eagles. He has asked the NFF to get the all clear from FIFA before the games against South Africa and Cameroon.

”The fact that Aina has represented England at various youth levels means FIFA has to clear him before his senior debut for Nigeria. The NFF will act as demanded by the coach”, a chieftain of the NFF told Owngoalnigeria.com.

”Hopefully he will be in the next set of players who will be invited for the South Africa and Cameroon game. That is our aim for now, we pray FIFA expedite decision on his case”.

The father of Wolverhampton Anglo-Nigerian defender Dominic Iorfa insists his son is being punished for opting to represent Nigeria instead of England where he was born.

Iorfa jnr has played for England at various youth levels, and even trained with the senior team when they were short in defence ahead of their Euro 2016 qualifiers tie against San Marino.

Rated as one of the best defensive prospects in the English youth ranks, his father Dominic Iorfa senior who played for Nigeria at senior level says his son's decision to pledge his international future to Nigeria cost him his place at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

”I have decided that my son will play for Nigeria and he met with Gernot Rohr when the coach came to see Carl Ikeme, and coach of Wolves Paul Lambert is unhappy over the fact that he has opted for Nigeria ahead of England.

”That is the reason why he is no longer a regular at the club, but that won’t make him neither will I change my mind about my son representing Nigeria at senior level, no going back once he turns 23″, Iorfa told Owngoalnigeria.com.

He is only punishing himself by keeping one his best defenders one the bench.

Afterall, the management of the club will not sack Iorfa Jr if the club has a poor runs of results.

Iorfa Jr, nothing do you. grin

This is expected. Am not surprised. I foresee England putting up a tight policy on player recruitment into English academies targeted to disadvantage African born youngsters.
Laurent Blanc made a racial biased comment about African/Arabian born players recruitment into French soccer academies. He made the comment on the back of African born players (especially Algerians) opting to represent their country of origin.

That is why this policy of recruiting foreign born players may not be sustainable on the long run, because we are subject to other countries policies affecting us directly. We are not in control of our own fate. The future of our football is at home. Period
Na who go loose when mediocres pack full academy? grin

I have been watching the blatant racist, vitriolic, cuastic and scathing criticism being directed towards Zaha. A guy essentially rejected and ridiculed by England for changing allegiance to Cote d'Ivoire.

All I can say to those who do not know and think we have it easy here, welcome to England.

With Wolves I am not shocked by that behaviour, they consider playing for England brings value to the club monetary and otherwise. So as long as money deh to chop for your head you are OK.

Last year I talked to one of the decision makers at Wolves let's call him BB and he refused to sign my player. Essentially because his words, "He will stop our England internationals from progressing"

So sometimes if you are very good and nobody go chop money for your head for that club , your road is blocked by the gatekeepers.

As Center half I rate Iorfa not as a RWB, his technical proficiency and skill level are not high enough for that position. Considering Wolves are not a very good footbaling side.

The problem arises when they have been picked at youth level for England. My dream for Nigeria is to pick five unknown, over looked and discriminated against Nigeria Origin players that will play England in a friendly and wipe the floor with them. angry

The policy is sustainable 100% if we do our homework before they do. It may almost require settings up a Diaspora quasi U15, 16,17,18 team
What? shocked shocked seriously!

So, such things are happening behind the scenes. Na wa ooooooo.

Like you rightly said, Iorfa to me is a better center half.

When he played there last season he did very well.

Your last paragraph is a very good idea but will one or two players be given the chance to slug it out with the U17 and U20 players in the camp here in Nigeria?

Because those coaches like..... grin

Bros, Dele reminds me of Gabriel Agbolahor (remember him?). He used to be the flavor of the season in the EPL....so much that he even rejected Nigeria's call up. But where is he now?

Trust me, as soon as Mauricio Pochettino moves on to Barca next season, Dele would have a major dip in form then England would forget and write him off like they always do. Mark my words!

O pari
Honestly, Dele Alli is miles ahead of Agbolahor.

Let him go to Real Madrid and you will see.

I doubt Ehizibue will get into the team, though. Holland is in a bad position as regards world Cup qualification and he has not been considered for the team.
