This is a step in the right direction but it would have been better to get a Bronze Statue of him than to use a thin steel sheet with a printed colour picture which wouldn't last long under the influence of weather and oxidation.

Because he is son of elite #rip to him... Rip to the other average forgotten soldiers #

Because he is a TRUE SOLDIER, always at front lines. He led several assaults that decimated & captured several LGA in the North-east. Even the so-called headquarters of the caliphate was captured by him & his men.

Almost every one in Borno knows about dis dude. So R.I.P to him & all our fallen heroes

The best honor that can be given is to actualize what he died for. A panel was set up to investigate how this hero and his team were ambushed and killed.
.
Alas, it's history now.
.
This incidence happened after Boko Haram had been "technically defeated" #hypocrites

Good. We are still awaiting how he died!

Rumour has it that he was shot from behind. Could that have been from his own camp? These are questions that Westerners would have unraveled before burying him.

Bros, this guy Col. Abu Ali is responsible for recapture of almost all the captured local governments in Borno. Do u know hw it feels to find urself commanding and leading inside the front armour tank? Do you know what it means when ur fellow combatants are retreating due to over power and you alone is engaging and advancing till those boko boys give up and flee? Do you know what it means if som1 tells you to give him only 5% of ur support and he gives 95% and the operation turns out to be a massive success? This guy is not just a mere hero, ask any soldier who has served in Borno, he will tell u more jaw dropping facts abt diz brave man.

. All of them deserve to be honoured! But that will not take anything from the fact that, this guy is a martyr!

My cousin is a lieutenant commander in the navy. We were in the living room when he saw the news of the soldiers death. He stood up, saluted while the soldier's picture was on screen and was broken for the rest of the day.

When he could speak, he told us that guy was the finest soldier he ever met.

I think he deserves every honour accorded to him.

No doubt but others have did their best, so they should be honoured too, I don't want to disrespect the dead, Did he Sleep on Grenade to avert casualties that would have taken many solider lives or did he enter the boko haram base and bomb himself with the terrorists. To me he did the same thing other unranked soliders did, but I know life is unfair, we all hustle but at the end some are more than others....

This a good one. Honour and give maximum respect to those who gave their lives to protect us - the only way to show that we appreciate this type of sacrifice.

If you didn't know him personally or fought side by side with him, I don't think it's fair to say he did the same things other did.

Anyhow, May his soul continue to rest peacefully.

Army life no easy at all.

The life of a warrior is not supposed to be easy. Iys just that in Naija we lack professionalism. A soldier will want to live in comfort without hassle and the closest thing to combat he wants to experience is beating bloody civilians

Must u bring tribe into everything? Ask any soldier that has been involved in the fight against BH,they will tell u how brave this man was.Their men and their Real men. This man was to the NA what a certain Abba Kyari is to the NPF.

The man is loved tremendously. The way the soldiers I know describe this man will not make you think like this anymore. He was very protective of his men and they loved him. The man blended with them and was always at the forefront. I have watched two videos of him. One, when he was getting decorated right in Borno. His men were all over him. Another was when he was inspecting an armor tank. For you to win the confidence of your men shows that you are brave and tactical. Also, the man will be remembered for reclaiming many vital LGs from BH. He was a great man.

Stop being like that, my brother. All of them cannot have their names put on that signpost. Does not mean we don't appreciate their efforts. Someone always gets to represent the others. Ali stands for their heroic deeds!!!
