I share terzurum5 ideology. He is not saying Pogba is overage. He is saying we should stop using looks to tag players overage. If Donnaruma was Nigerian, no one will believe he is a teenager because of his looks. People should not suffer because of the failed system.
If anyone questions Donnaruma, his records can be checked and verified. How do you check the records of a Nigerian player who is on suspicion of being an age cheat? Through a Nigerian high court affidavit that can be obtained by the roadside for #100?

See why we won't be trusted and be subjected to other methods of age verifications like MRI scans until we get our house in order?

Our problem is planning and funding.

If u send NPFL U17 players for MRI test anyone go pass? U and I know na.

IMO let us leave the U17 selection the way it is. I.e from the academies. Players go through MRI and what have u. That has given us two world titles within a short space of time. So it is working for us.

Now we should have an NPFL U18.

For instance, we are in 2017 and should be planning towards the 2019 WYC. By 2019 that team would have matured into an U20 team.

How do we go about this?

It is a known fact that our NPFL teams struggle to get funds to execute league games so having an U18 or youth league is out of it.

The NFF through the NPFL has a data base of players both in the top and lower division. It means they can sieve out players who are 17 and 18. U saw the thread earlier this week of NPFL youngsters. most of them are 17 and 18. At the end of the season this year, 2017 such players should be invited for trials at the U18 camp. And 25 of them selected as the U18 national team.

Now, we expect also the national U17 players from academies that went through the MRI to be part of this team. We invite them also for trials at the U18 camp from which again best 25 are selected. This team can be kept busy with matches with armature and or lower division teams or even NPFL preseason tourney, like that of 2015.

2019 WYC qualifiers starts in 2018. We would be ready by then to face any opposition.

How do we include the foreign based U20 players? It is difficult to secure their release during qualifiers as the games are played outside the FIFA window. We may manage to get the ones still in academies. If we qualify for the WYC which is typically played during end of season break then we invite the foreign based players that can add value nt jst bc they are foreign based.

I would like know what TheGoodJoe and TheSuperNerd think about this suggestion.

I agree with your idea. The current NPFL team can remain the back bone but I say we invite most of Manu Garba's team, including those that failed the MRI test to camp. We screen out the best and then hold an open camp.

We keep looking for better players in each role as time goes on. After we get this team, we engage them with friendlies against other academies and African U20/Olympic teams.

This will enable the coaching crew sieve out the problems in personnel and tactics.

By the time the qualifiers start, we will have players that understand themselves.

As for those based abroad, we need to alert their clubs early after we have qualified and get them to camp early. Mostly the foreign based will get invitation at this time.

They have the training and experience to catch up with the tactics and mode of play of the team. We select the best, not only on talent and stamina. We select also based on catching up with the system of the coach.

I agree that we need to prepare early and this will also give Rohr an insight into the promising young players in the country.

The point is simple. A young player can look old and that can not be an accurate reason for doubting a player's age.

Pls don't let us over flogged this age issue. It is quiet agreed Africans are cheats but not only in sports,go to various government establishments like ministries, agencies, schools etc.u see everybody as a cheaters even here on this thread, one way or d other some are culprits but who to blame?d government.

Age cheat doesn't affect only sports segment but all other segments in Nigeria.I remember how graduates reduced their age coz of service and how public workers reduced their age in alarming rates.

My man for now there is nothing anybody can do about it except sincerity from all of us.

Rohr On Alert As German-
Nigerian Left Back Target
Torunarigha Shines For Hertha
Berlin

The search by the coach of the Super Eagles
of Nigeria Gernot Rohr for options at left full
back might be coming to an end following the
giant leap made by German-Nigerian left back
Jordan Torunarigha.
Presently Rohr has been unsuccessful in his
search for a credible back up for first choice
and second vice captain Elderson Echiejile, as
Kingsley Madu has failed to provide the kind of
challenge the manager wants for the Sporting
Gijon man.
Torunarigha has been on the manager’s watch
list for a while, and last night the German-
Nigerian full back made his first team bow by
playing for 27 minutes in their 1-3 loss to
Hoffeinheim in the Bundesliga.
He was introduced for Vedad Ibisevic and
despite coming on with his team under
pressure, the 19 year old who is proud of his
Nigerian heritage, as he has the country’s flag
on the header of his instagram account gave a
good impression of himself.
Although he has represented England at youth
level he qualifies to play for Nigeria through his
dad Ojokojo Torunarigha who played for Nigeria
League side Shooting Stars years ago.http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/04/01/rohr-on-alert-as-german-nigerian-left-back-target-torunarigha-shines-for-hertha-berlin/

Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has named
his starting line-up for the Premier League
clash against Crystal Palace at Stamford

The big news pertaining to Nigeria fans is
Super Eagles winger Victor Moses was
unable to pass a late fitness test and has
not been named in the Blues 18-man

Senegal at the Hive Stadium.

played by Chelsea in the Premier League,
scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists.
Despite the absence of the ex-Stoke City

the same goes for England U20 star
Dominic Solanke.

Blow For Arsenal, Liverpool &
Spurs As Man City Won’t Sell
Iheanacho To Premier League
Rival

The future of Manchester City Nigerian forward
Kelechi Iheanacho at the Etihad is uncertain,
but the possibility of leaving for a direct rival is
bleak.
Owngoalnigeria.com Daniel Martins who is close
to the agent of the player revealed contrary to
reports, Iheanacho has not been told by
manager Pep Guardiola that he is not wanted.
According to Martins City are open to do
business for Iheanacho but not to a team in
direct competition for titles with them, as it
amount to strengthening a rival.
” The last time I checked, Iheanacho is still very
much in the plans of Guardiola, but for how
long I don’t know. Summer is around the corner
and his departure will depend on a lot of
variables”, Martins told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” For instance I gathered he might be sold to a
team in England, possible a mid table team
where he will get games to help him develop
but such deal will carry a buy back clause. A
loan is also a possibility.
” I can confirm to you as well that there has
been discreet inquiries from agents who have
links with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, of
course you know Alex Iwobi is also pushing for
Iheanacho to join him at Arsenal.
” The bad new still remains that City won’t sell
or loan Iheanacho to a direct rival. No they
won’t do that because they know and respect
his quality, no way is he going to join a top four
team in England”.http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/04/01/blow-for-arsenal-liverpool-spurs-as-man-city-wont-sell-iheanacho-to-premier-league-rival/

“Oyibo Eagles” – Nigerian
Players Born Abroad Have
Mental Edge Over Home Based
Players

As the debate over the none inclusion of home
based players in the Super Eagles continue to
rage on, a follower of the Nigerian Professional
Football League Moses James has given his
view while Gernot Rohr possibly prefers players
born abroad ahead of the players in the
Nigerian League.
Rohr has been criticized in some quarters with
most people unhappy with his idea of
convincing players of Nigeria descent, most of
who have represented other countries to switch
allegiance to the Super Eagles.
The term “Oyibo Eagles” was introduced by
some followers of the team, due to the influx of
so many players born abroad, following the
recent capture of Chelsea Ola Aina, QPR Ebere
Eze and Arsenal Chuba Akpom.
” I follow the NPFL very well, and it’s clear to
see that the mentality of our home based
players is not ripe for senior national team
assignment, with all due respect and I have my
reasons for saying so”, James told
Owngoalnigeria.com.
” An average Nigeria League player has a
mentality of winning away from home is a tall
order, and they also believe if they lose games
away it’s entirely the fault of the referee even
at home without truly assessing their own
peformance.
” Such players have a defeated mindset even
when they are called up to the team, they fell
they won’t be selected because most Nigerian
teams recruit this boys with the help of some
people in high places, which is not same in the
national team”.http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/04/01/oyibo-eagles-nigerian-players-born-abroad-have-mental-edge-over-home-based-players/

If Aina can pushed Omeruo to team B with just two days training then who is Shehu Abdullahi and Musa Muhammed to compete with him and who told u there are no issues with Abdullahi and Mohammed as RB,if there are no issues Ndidi w not be forced to play as RB against Zambia and Omeruo against Algeria, though Omeruo started as RB for eagles.

Rohr is an experience coach who have seen what he was looking for in RB in Aina and remember both Aina and Omeruo belonged to Chelsea,Omeruo on loan and Aina in main squad,a good coach w evaluate d situation.

According to reliable source d switching of Aina's allegiance to Nigeria is d top priority of Rohr and NFF coz of his displayed in training.

Geremi - nine African World Cup places 'a
fair number'

By Piers Edwards
BBC Sport
1 Apr

Former Cameroon star Geremi played at the
2002 and 2010 World Cups for the Indomitable
Lions
The proposal to give nine World Cup places to
Africa means the continent's football 'future
looks very good,' says former Cameroon
international Geremi.
On Thursday, Fifa suggested Africa's current
tally of five berths will nearly double when the
tournament expands to 48 teams in 2026.
"We will accept nine - it's a fair number," the
former Real Madrid star told BBC Sport.
We aren't saying we will win the
World Cup with that number but
our chances will increase
Geremi
Former Cameroon international
"We aren't saying we will win the World Cup with
that number but our chances will increase."
The decision needs to be ratified when the Fifa
Council meets in May but this is expected to
happen given that president Gianni Infantino and
all six confederation presidents 'agreed on (the)
proposed slot allocation,' according to a Fifa
statement.
Geremi, who played at the 2002 and 2010 World
Cup for the Indomitable Lions, believes the
increased participation will help Africa in two
ways.
"Most of our federations in Africa don't have
money so imagine those who qualify, the income
they will get from Fifa for that qualification will
help develop many things in Africa, which means
the future looks very good," said the onetime
Chelsea midfielder.
"Secondly, imagine all our biggest nations
qualifying for a World Cup - teams like Cameroon,
Senegal, Ghana, Egypt, Morocco and Nigeria -
you will see that we will have better chances.
"We will have possibilities to reach the quarter-
final or semi-final, which is one of our targets
because we haven't had any team reach that
level so far."
Only three African nations have ever reached the
last eight of a World Cup - Cameroon (1990),
Senegal (2002) and Ghana (2010), with the
Black Stars just a missed penalty away from
reaching the last four.
After Fifa's announcement, former Namibia FA
chairman John Muinjo said his delight at seeing
Africa receive four more places was mitigated by
the fact that Europe was going up to 16.
Muinjo felt this failed to redress an imbalance
whereby Europe's 54 members received 16
places while Africa's 55 were getting nine.
"I would have been thrilled by the prospect of
giving Africa 4 slots, but Europe is still going to
be given 3 or so, for me the status quo remains,"
he told BBC Sport.
"So I'm not as thrilled as I was when the
message (about the African teams) came
through."
Geremi believes that the improved infrastructure
and football development in Europe can account
for that tally, leaving aside the fact that the
continent has won the World Cup eleven times.
Meanwhile, 1998 African Footballer of the Year
Mustapha Hadji believes that the increased
opportunity for African teams means that more
players with dual nationality will opt for an
African nation in future.
In the past, many players with African roots have
opted to play for European teams instead.
For example, Zinedine Zidane and Marcel
Desailly could have represented Algeria and
Ghana respectively but both chose France
instead, going on to win the 1998 World Cup.
"African players will be more motivated now that
they know 9 teams will be in the World Cup,"
Hadji, who played for Morocco at those 1998
finals, told BBC Sport.
"I had the opportunity to play at the World Cup
and I know how hard it was to qualify.
"Now, there is more opportunity for Africans
teams and I think more players with the choice
to play for France, England or whoever will now
choose their own (African) countries because
they will have a better chance of reaching a
World Cup.

Musa's case is a case of signing for the wrong club I think. Now he is an obscure league. I wonder why our players don't go to France anymore. The French league is strong, and you get to develop better.
