The problem with those complaint lines is they are not regional or zonal. They're central and as such would be very ineffective when a complaint comes from Delta state and who is receiving the complaint is in Abuja.

Moreover, the Nigerian police needs to work on their image and public trust. It has been free-falling over the years.

The central unit of command is just one amongst a billion problems bedevilling the Nigeria police force.

To begin with, the Police in Nigeria is fundamentally corrupt at an institutional level.

And it is peopled by stark illiterates who don't know anything about the law they are meant to enforce. There's a lack of transparency, respect for citizens and central command passive nod to corruption and extortion.
