Hi everyone, Please what do you think about 2004 model Honda Civic for personal use in Nigeria? Is it a great car considering maintenance and durability? heard the parts are expensive...... Please advice

Very economic to maintain and drive, the fuel economy is excellent and the engine is very resilient.

Just average in interior aesthetics.

Not that, an actual aux adapter you connect to the back of the head unit and use the cd/Xm button to switch, got it off ebay.
P.S
I just found a solution online which involves opening up the adapter, will try it and revert

you need to filter the power source To the device, an electrolytic capacitor of the right value will solve the problem.

Issue resolved, I followed a step by step process I saw in the review section of AMAZON, lol, opened the adapter and removed the black usb ground wire from the connector and put it in the audio ground column and voila!

Happy Sunday guys, I just discovered the blinking 'D' light has returned. My electrician disconnected the c201 to work on my AC compressor clutch issues. While doing that they was a spark from the open c201 connector and 'D' started blinking. Checked and they was no voltage to the VSA modulator. Had to check the fuse and this is what I found. Can this be fixed or I'll have to get another one? How much is it?

P0172 system too rich bank1 (check o2 sensor, fix p1009 code)

P1009 HONDA Variable Valve Timing Control Advance Malfunction(check VVTI actuator on timing chain cover, you could have a sludge problem that has clogged the strainers, or a failed actuator)

P0137 o2 sensor, bank1 sensor2 circuit low voltage (check harness of O2 sensor replace sensor if faulty)

P0456 evaporative emission, small Leak detected (search for leaks this is the least of your problems)

Thank you very much.

Hello, I recently noticed that my Accord 2008 model makes a rattling sound for like 1 0r 2 seconds at cold starting in the morning. I scanned the car and it threw no error codes. I read online and it seems this is prevalent to accords model of same year. The car drives well and everything works perfectly, guru in the house, What could be the problem?

@gazzuz

Thanks for your last advice to change the radiator in Benin. I have Changed the radiator to a double cell, engine doesn't overheat anymore.

@ all Gurus in the house
For a long time my check engine light has been on, and my mechanic once did a scan and told me not to worry about it. That it's the way they connected the fan or something and that he also can't clear the error unless the connection of the fan is changed not to always be on. He tried clearing it and it came back on.

Well I did a scan myself today as I got an obd 2 scanner. These error codes came up.

P2184 (engine coolant temperature sensor 2 circuit low)
P1157 (unidentified)

Anything to be scared of? I haven't still come to lagos yet, when I come I will contact you or the op immediately because I'm still scared of doing any repair on this car in Benin.

your cars are OK, most times the rattling sounds are POST sounds. Power on self test, it tests all sensors and actuators, most times that noise is abs being tested.

scan first, might be a sensor malfunctioning, or noisy valve lifters, weak timing chain or belt or worn internal shafts. using 20w50 can also cause this ur own of up to 30 mins. when does it stop? I mean apart from the timeline, is there a temp at which it stops?

p2184 was ur thermostat removed in the above mentioned process? if yes, engine running too rich trying to reach optimum1 temp without actually getting there since u using double cell now. if no, check ect sensor wiring and sensor itself.
p1157 check wiring for front air fuel sensor, if wiring checks out, u might need to test the actual sensor, code is for that sensor inside the catalytic converter!
first confirm before throwing parts.
note I'm a diy enthusiast not a professional Mech, years of diy have made me conversant with most basic issues such as these.
if it were me, I'd confirm first that parts are working with a multimeter and workshop manual. but I doubt if u have those, so first locate a capable technician with provable technical know how.
if in lag, Gazuzz, abuja kingreign, any other part....... well, the feeling is mutual; referrals

A car that will not go into park can be both inconvenient and dangerous. In most cases a problem getting a vehicle into park can be traced back to an issue with the shifter cable, ignition or the shifter mechanism. This is usually a fairly easy repair but if it is not addressed it can lead to a more expensive repair.

P2184 code is thrown when the engine ecu cannot detect any info from the coolant temp sensor at the base of the radiator (temp2) most technicians feel the design on the accord 03 is same with the 06-07 and inter change radiators without considering the consequences of the accessories connected at the base.
Presently the wires connected to temp 2 are briged, or the radiator has a thermistor at the base (03 accord) instead of a temp sensor.

P1157. O2 sensor bank1 sensor 1 low circuit. Check sensor on the exhaust, start with the harness (wire connecting the sensor) if fine replace sensor (image attached) it is the first sensor at the top of the exhaust.

P0134 P0134 O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 1). check harness (wiring) If ok replace sensor

P0430 obviously your vehicle is a V6, so replace catalytic converter on both banks as the are currently burnt out

Hello house good afternoon, my Honda accord 2005 model has a case of simple preventive maintenance gone wrong. I just purchased it registered, and decided to play safe as I cannot confirm whatever has been the car..and did a switch of ATF to ATF-DW1. After the Mech switched the oil. It started leaking. I have had the two seals changed now according to most online recommendations to fix it..and the problem still persists. Any ideas? Its now so bad I cannot drive the car without filling it with ATF first...and DW1 costs 4000 naira per quart..

[color=#990000]when it comes to atf leaks, 3 seals are the regular culprits.

CV joint seals and torque converter seal.
If replaced with the right parts, it's an easy fix. Look away from the problem, and replace the solution provider./color]
