An igbo proverb says that a man who doesn't know where the rain started beating him will not know where it stopped. Recently I have been hearing all sorts of rubbish about my people having our origins in Israel and how we are supposedly Jews.
Whoever came up with such nonsense deserves to be flogged publicly.
Historical evidence has it that human evolution started in Africa before they dispersed to populate the rest of the world.

My people, I'm proud to say that before Israel even existed, before Abraham was born, before Isaac and Jacob suckled on their mother's breast, My forefathers and my ancestors were already established in their clans, kindreds and villages.

It is a pity that the little of our past that was preserved was looted and sold by the white men and in exchange for that, they gave us their religion which is the problem tormenting Nigeria today.

I saw Nnamdi kanu on YouTube putting on Jewish regalia and I thought to myself... What a wasted generation. What happened to our native attires? Our isi Agu and red caps decorated with the feather of an eagle? Our elephant tusks which symbolizes strength and opulence? And he is supposedly fighting for our freedom. What a wasted generation.

It's a shame that my people have lost all sense of identity, they don't know they are anymore that is why they don't know their present status in Nigeria.... To be or not to be.

Why do you want to break away from Nigeria when Nigeria should belong to you.... I weep for the Igbos of today.
I tell my people once again, go back to the drawing board and look at the places where you made mistakes otherwise the future generations will suffer more than we are suffering today.

Bros I share the bitter truth with you, I don't think my ancestors were from Israel but most times we always want to align with those who have made it in life. Because there's similarities in culture and in worship doesn't mean we are one.

Nigeria should belong to who? Guy, wake up from your slumber. Nigeria belongs to the man who created it, Lord Frederick Lugard. How can you claim the country a white man from Europe created as your own? You dont know how to go and create yor own country? If you dont know, go and ask Kanu.

Nnamdi first and foremost -- without any sliver of doubt -- is an Igbo man. However, he Nnamdi, as an individual believes in the Jewish religious system. That is fine, no problem with that all.

Although it is unfortunate that Africans put more stock on foreign and imported religions, that is the prevailing reality.

Nnamdi's struggle for the actualization of Biafra is different from his beliefs as person. Please do not lump the two things together.

If a Northerner wears Arabian and Muslim themed garb, would he be open to the sort of aspersions that you have heaped on Nnamdi from his compatriots?

Hahah!, My dear, hove you ever heard that Onitcha people have their ancestral origin from the Binis> Just try and read and stop taking vendor-stand argument too serious. The Igbos are Igbos, I know people have inferiority complex and so try to associate themselves with anything foreign. Be proud of who you are and leave another man's identity. One thing you should also understand is that the present day Igbos do not have same ancestral history.

Now someone brought the idea of indigenous people of Biafra. There is nothing like Biafra as a people before the declaration by Ojukwu, though there was the bight of Biafra in present day Bayelsa. We are Igbos, not Jews nothing more or less. It is sinful to discard our original identity for another, that will; be calamity. Now some people have blamed Nigerian government for killing history, and rightly so there seems to be that attempt. I rather blame the igbo leaders - political and traditional- for not making effort bto preserve out identity, history and tradition. It should have been make compulsary in all schools in Igbo land to teach Igbo (not Igbo language alone). That way we will be well grounded on our history and the missing link with Nigeria. This should be considered as the only way to re-invent the igbo identity and save Igbo from those reconstructing the cannon for their own interest (for political and religious interests)> For the records we are Igbos.
