Please is there any easy way of getting this pre-paid meter? This recent billings by nepa have been on the high side. Last month i paid #7000 and today i saw a bill of #10,000. I am at Ojo alaba in lagos. Anyone with a sure way to get this stuff should please alert me. This is becoming unbearable.

Also seun should create a section where people can go to discuss energy and power issues on nairaland. There is none and that is why i am posting this in the politics section

NEPA or whatever camouflage they bear rob us in broad daylight, they purposefully make it difficult to get that prepaid meter. Imagine, in my area, we have lesser light now but higher bill. When confronted, the officials only mentioned that that was what their oga at the top decreed.

And rather than our government look into the evils in this sector, they are busy pursuing shadows when the main corruption is alive and living.

Why not the meter be sold in shops like every other electrical appliances?

Why not buy the locally made brands until they are imported by two persons into the country?

Until this sector is looked into, Nigeria's growth is a dream.

Seriously they need to look into this. These companies hoard the meters and at the end of the day they just share estimated bills to everyone.
I thought the fg had an agreement with the discos to issue out meters to everyone at least after two years into the privitization. This rip off is becoming just too much

The best for any resident is to get a prepaid meter in his house, if not the kind of crazy bill such house will be getting from phcn will be outrageous. Formally they use to bring a bill of 20k for me on a monthly basis, just for 4 bedroom apartment. I feel the form to get a prepaid meter but all effort proof abortive. It was after a phcn official help me with d process that cost me 120k before the meter was brought for me. Ever since then,I hardly use card of 4k per month.
What phn did most cases is just to look at the size of the house to bill such house not minding the gadget they are using in that house.

They don't release meter just to frustrate people




I heard the official price of prepaid is less than 30k but greedy NEPA officials will charge you 65k
