hello fellow NL, i don't know if anyone here can explain to me. the best way to send some Money (Naira) from Nigeria here to the US with a very low charges/ transaction fee, i have tried to find out how domiciliary account work but am disappointed as the charges to be incurred while making transfer can sometimes be more than the money to be sent. please, if anybody have an idea, a better idea on what channel /medium to use, i will appreciate it.

From Naira-denominated account, no way. CBN things. Only possible with a domiciliary account.

it doesn't have to be a Naira-denominated account... but the domiciliary transaction fee is just too much, imagine i was been told $25 will be charged for VAT, another $25 for another thing, then.. 0.5% will be charged for tax or whatever, what if i only had $50 to be transferred, that means am dishing it out to the bank... pls, is there any other recommendable way?

Bros , look for someone abroad to pay for you and you credit the person naira here... you can't transfer naira and get dollars , e nor possible.

Very unfortunate situation we find ourselves in. After sourcing the dollars from the parallel market (non official rate) at a cut-throat price, the banks want to charge at the exorbitant "official rate". Very unfortunate. Meanwhile, from your tone (actually from the writing) it is apparent you genuinely want to make this transfer, but we are all getting blanket treatment for the sins of the round-tripers. Sadly, that is the only way known to me.

You may copy the mods for front page things to get a wider view and advice. Let me start, cos I'm also interested. They may never do the needful since it is not about snakes or Tonto Dickey, bbn, etc.

Go to currency thread on business board... ask "anyone here can help me pay so and so amount in an account in so and so country while I credit the person's naira account", before long, someone will respond.
