The Presidency has lashed out at former Aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan Reno Omokri for saying that non-Nigerians voted President Muhammadu Buhari into power in 2015.

Reports earlier said that Omokri had in a Facebook post, said Buhari used foreign Almajiris in the 2015 election to vote Jonathan out.

However, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Media Aide, Lauretta Onochi in her reaction to the claim lashed at Omokri describing him as insane.


According to Onochi, Nigerians voted out Jonathan due to his incompetence.

In a response she shared on her twitter handle, @Lauresta, Onochi wrote, “Your insanity is acclaimed but don’t insult Nigerians.

“Nigerians went to the poll in a historic election and voted out boss for reasons known to the whole world: inefficiency, buffoonery.

“You had thought that watching while Boko Haram was on rampage would decimate the population of the north east and give you victory. You failed

“Nigerians had good reasons to vote against your boss who confessed that he knew those who were stealing in his government but would do nothing.

“It nothing but lunacy to ascribe to foreigners, the franchise exercised and expressed by Nigerians in 2015. Step on your brakes of lunacy.”

Between 2010 to 2015, Nigeria earned the highest oil revenue ever, actually it earned more revenue than it had achieved in every other year from 1959 till date put together. But besides the fact that there was an explosion in number of private jet owners in the country, can you kindly point out the infrastructural achievements?... Can you point out any major road that was completed?... can you point out any major power plant that was completed?... how many megawatts of electricity were added to our grid after the govt claimed it spent over $8billion?.... Oil subsidy payment jumped from about N600bn in 2010 to N2.13 trillion in 2011 (the only reaction of the govt was to remove subsidy as it was too scared to confront the subsidy beasts), no refinery was built, old refineries were not fixed, forex savings depleted from over $60bn to $30bn yet we cant point out any major infrastructural development in the period besides a multitude of nobodies becoming billionaires overnight yet here we are, someone thinks boko haram is the ONLY reason Nigerians got tired of GEJ.

Well, you may be right, a lot of people rejected him vos of bokoharam, others did just cos of his religion/tribe but there are still quite a handful like myself who rejected him cos of the things I summarised above.
