Good one, but let's nt forget that prof. Is appointment by university, some got prof after 8 year of their Ph.D or less. , and some levture after Ph.D. For 30 years without one, ( it's jst like army , where ur work takes u to is col. The rest are base on appointment )
Let me speak from unilorin , many Dr leave becos dey refuse to give dem prof, and imidiately dey get to their new uni, dey giv dem, if u want me to name example, I can name 7, and we have some who still forget abt the politics and stay, Geology dept, is my case studies,

If it's by years, then it's very bad. It has to do with academic achievement which is weighed on the impact of one's research works. Just that greater academic accomplishments take more years to achieve. However you will find few exceptional cases. If your school give it based on the years after you got your PHD, even if it's after 30yrs, you school will produce a lot a mediocre profs that can't stand side by side with their peers in other parts of the world or even have the pedigree to deliver a lecture in a standard school!

Fake and useless list!!! How can u say Abia State University has no prof or associate prof?! Back in 2010 when I graduated I could count more than 10profs and a lot of associate profs with loads of doctors I'm sure would have become associate profs by now at least! By the way are you a student of OAU If yes, why pretend not to be aware of your large student population, even an informed hazard guess will not give that figure you stated.

Now before you continue to display your ignorance; profiles of all teaching and non teaching staff are listed on CU website. Let us do a quick check....

Open the website and check colleges, for each of the 5 listed check each department and click on staff list/profile, count the Profs and PHDs and make a sound comparison with your "great" OAU.

Students: over 35,000. (from Wikipedia). Even though we both know it's much higher than 40,000 by mere yearly admission statistics and total graduands each year. Let's still use 35K anyway.
Professor/student Ratio: 313/35000 = 1/111.82

So OAU Professor-student ratio is approximately 1:112!

Now, University of Ibadan (UI)

Professors: 292 (you're really celebrating 292 profs for UI?? SMH for you!)
Students: over 33,000. (from Wikipedia). Once again, we both know it's much higher than 40,000 by mere yearly admission statistics and total graduands each year. Let's still use 33K anyway.
Professor/student Ratio: 292/33000 = 1/113.01

So UI Professor-student ratio is approximately 1:113!.

I think you should be ashamed of yourself if you are comparing the professorship strength of such a new school with schools that have been since the days of Methuselah.

Besides, We all know that if we should start talking about the population of students of most of our federal universities at any given time, you should be talking of nothing less than 50 thousand and above. Don't be surprised if that of ABU, UNN, UniMaid and NOUN is close to 100,000 by now. So what the hell are you talking about
