NAF EAGLE ESTATE: ANOTHER BATCH OF SUBSCRIBERS RECEIVE HOUSE KEYS

The second set of subscribers to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Eagle Estate in Ijah Bwari Area Council, Abuja were today presented keys to their personal houses by the Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) James Gbum. The Post-Service Housing scheme was inaugurated on 22 July 2016 to provide affordable houses for airmen and airwomen as part of their preparation towards retirement

Speaking during the presentation of the keys, AVM Gbum congratulated the new set of beneficiaries for having their own houses, while urging them to be more dedicated to the service of the NAF and the nation. According to him, ‘’in continuation of the milestone achievements by the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) to reposition the NAF into a highly disciplined and professional fighting force, we just witnessed another presentation of keys to new set of subscribers to the NAF Eagle Estate 1 Project here in Bwari.’’ The COPP further restated the commitment of the NAF leadership to affordable post housing for personnel and to replicate the scheme in some states.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of the Post-Service Housing Implementation Committee Phase 1 Project, AVM Mohammed Audu-Bida (Retired) said that he was optimistic that other houses under-construction would be completed even as he noted that over 400 letters of offer have been given to subscribers. AVM Audu-Bida also used the occasion to encourage personnel to subscribe to the scheme.

The subscribers presented keys included Air Warrant Officer Jimoh Kabiru, Master Warrant Officer Maikudi Nuruddeen, Flight Sergeants Bello Yusuf, Umama Nathaniel and Ohaegbulam John. Others were Sergeant John Godwin and Aircraftwoman Orjiachukwu Cynthia. So far completed are 24-housing units, comprising 16 units of 3-bedroom semi detached and 8 units of 3-bedroom fully detached bungalows. It would be recalled that the first set of subscribers was issued house keys on 13 October 2016.

NAF LAUNCHES OPERATION SMOKE OUT

The Nigerian Air Force today commenced OPERATION SMOKE OUT to checkmate criminal activities within the middle belt part of the country especially areas around Ugbokolo, Agatu, Zaki Biam, Katsina Ala and the stretch of forest lying between Benue and Taraba States. Working in synergy with the Nigerian Army and Department of State Services, the NAF will be conducting a range of air operations including armed reconnaissance, Close Air Support and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance to flush out criminal elements from their hideouts.
