biafran troops targeted military installations and personnel not civilian populations like the nigerians did.

That's what the thread is about..keep up man
Liar.

Is CBN that you looted a military installations.

Are the civilians you killed in Mid-West Region military installations too?

Try harder

That picture is not Biafran women, that's Liberian women during their uncivil war, Biafra didn't use women to fight, you're an impostor
Hi, do you have any proof to show they are Liberian and not actually Biafran? Because when I did a reverse image search the oldest result was from getty images and tagged the women as Biafran. No hint of them being Liberian in any of the results.

Well getty images, which is obviously very reputable, uploaded that image years ago, 2012 to be precise, so maybe it was a suggestion regarding Biafra that you didn't notice at the time. Glad to clear things up.

dont mind that guy, he's a liar. He just wanted to derail the thread.

The liberian war is how old? Yet the image was taken in the 60's. The image shouldn't be in black and white if it was in Liberia.

My mum was among the biafran units that poisoned Nigerian targets. They sneak into camps and poisoned their foods and water. Saying biafran women didn't fight is a lie.

He said he saw it in a movie, but from his first post, he sounded so sure. Ask him what's the name of the movie that used that image as a liberian war image.

he knows exactly what he's doing, his plan was to derail the thread.m

Dont talk like a fool. Did Ojukwu start any war? It was Nigeria and Gowon that started the war. It was far incumbent on Gowon as head of state to prevent war than Ojukwu.

Gowon should not have declared war without first giving dialogue a chance. How you go to kill those you claim are your brothers without giving peace a chance first?

Gowon broke the Aburi agreement
Gowon ordered 'Police action'
Gowon declared war

Gowon caused the civil war all for access to Oil money
Forgive me, if I may have implied that Ojukwu started the war. You said Police Action... That's how the Civil War started everyone thought it was just going to be a small issue that it became a full blown war... The Biafran Army wanted to seize Lagos... they breezed Delta and Edo and got stuck in Ore (Ondo State) they successfully passed Delta and Edo because there was little or no resistance but in Ore they were met with resistance the Nigerian Army countered hence the begininng of the war.... The Civil War was caused by two things
1. Injustice, Freedom
2. Greed and inexperience of very two naive soldiers (Gowon and Ojukwu)

P. S Don't call me a fool... I don't remember insulting anyone
Re: Anambra State During The War (pix) by edudguy(m): 3:37am On Apr 16, 2017
PresidentRich:
both of( you and edudguy) are Childish. You don't take time to read to comprehend before you bulge out your ignorance.

Ojukwu never had the intention to war against Nigeria. Even after the pogrom of 1966, he was interested in unifying the two regions by ordering the Igbos to go back and start up life in Nigeria.

He(Ojukwu of blessed memory) knew he has no military power to fight Nigeria had to negotiate with Gowon at Aburi (Aburi Accord).

Gowon rejected the agreement( after he has signed and agreed with Ojukwu based on the agreement) days after.

Ojukwu declared plainly "on Aburi I stand"
Aburi-Accord is not about Biafra, is about running Nigeria through Confederacy.

Ojukwu never shot the first bullet, he never moved his army to fight Nigeria.
The war came to him and he had to defend himself.

Next time pls if you are a child don't comment on any topic in this forum until you get wisdom to comment on any issue.
Like I said in my response to another person, forgive me if I implied that Ojukwu started the war

But one thing I just want to point out was that the war started as a Police Action to arrest Ojukwu.... In response Ojukwu made a plan to seize Lagos (his reason I don't know) The Igbos breezed through Delta and Edo because there was little or no resistance they however got stuck in Ore (modern day Ondo state) where they were countered by the Nigerian Army...It was after this War was declared by the Nigerian Army.....In Achebe's Novel 'There was a Country' Achebe pointed out that Ojukwu had already been planing for war if negotiations failed... there were, many negotiations including delegates sent to Eastern Nigeria... but it was already clear that it was going to be futile because of tje progroms that happened in the North and the Country's indifference. Achebe also noted that there was rumour of war and people had already started moving from their homes into forests...

When Zik withdrew his support for Biafra he openly criticized Ojukwu for not consulting him and the Premier of the Eastern Region (Michael Opara) before going to war.... because the Eastern Region were not prepared to go to war beacuse it did not have the ammunition the Nigerian Army....

Achebe criticised Gowon and Ojukwu for their stubbornness in refusing to end the war that claimed millions of lives he blamed it on their ego and their inner circles (those who advised both men....)

Achebe also noted that after the war broke out... the Nigerian Government offered Biafra Confederacy but Biafra said no that it was a fight to the finish... with reality staring down on Biafra, the same Biafra offered the Nigerian government Confederacy and Ojukwu personally appealed to international organisations andthe world to negotiate but the Nigerian government seeing it was winning the war refused and saidit was willing to fight till the end.....
Ojukwu also refused to accept aid when clearly he knew millions of Children were starving to death

It was clear that Ojukwu did not put other things into consideration before engaging in war with Nigeria.... Gown on his own part was not true to his own word

So the Civil War is not something you can really point accusing fingers at one person both parties were wrong

Now, Mr PresidentRich and bounty007 who is ignorant amongst the three of us? Who is Childish amongst the three of us?

I know this thread was opened to appeal to the senses of Biafra supporters (which I know it has) but let's look at this... war has no winner, both sides will be losers... I know Ojukwu saw the war as the only option (at that time) because of the progroms.. The military government was indifferent to what was going on..... but that war claimed lives... property worth millions were lost.... I am sure if Ojukwu had a rethink he would have considered other options other than war.... that's why I kind of feel sorry when people say : Biafra or War? Do they really know what war is? Do they think war is heroism? They haven't experienced war before.... just the pictures above makes me sick..... Nigeria has a big problem; a very big problem but violence is not the answer; it will never be..... We must sort out our problems..... Now, I know people will come for my head but I don't care It's the truth anyway...Now you'll see the two tribes insulting each other.. just wait they are coming... I am an Igbo man by the way
Gbam!! Thanks for hitting the nail right on the head. Why is it that a lot of Africans can't learn to sit down and settle there problems without letting there hurt feelings cloud there judgement? This is the 21st century for goodness sakes!

the denial of the Niger delta region is brought by shame. Shame that they sold out to Nigeria and got nothing in return.

The so called "igbo coup" was done by the Niger deltans and yorubas. During the pogrom, violence spread to nd becos of the heavy hausa presence there...nd quickly pledged to the biafra.
After suffering heavy casualties during the war, they sold out to the nigerians...did that stop them from killing the nd? no! Adekunle went in to finish them off.

Today they tell lies of not wanting to join Biafra but only a few years back wanted biafra during their fight for 13% derivation. Hypocrites

Bros here is the truth go and form your country and stop forming saviour, if the Niger Delta wants to leave the Nigerian state it will be on our own terms and not that of the Igbos, Niger Delta republic was declared before Biafra, we didn't need to go to Enugu to wave flag & protest or use propaganda, we don't need your help or selfish mentality of these so called majority tribes

Provide proof that they saw it as a war on Christianity. Playing the victim card again, I see.

Most of you forget that Gowon, the military head of state at the time is Christian, ditto Awolowo whom most of you think starved Biafra to death, ditto the Yoruba generals that crushed the opposition, people like Obasanjo etc.

They were all Christians, so I wonder How your small mind could imagine it was a religious war?
The war on biafra is a war against Islamic contagion which Igbo isn't affected

Ojukwu

What proof again do you want ?

Rivers is not Niger-Delta, just a few parts of it mainly around the coast. The bulk of Rives is Igbo. Then u have the Ijaws mixed with Igbos.

Hence ur argument is flawed. One Ijaw man, Adaka Boro cannot decide for all the tribes in the South East OR SS/SE. Igbo, Ibibio, Efik, Ejagham etc.

We will leave Nigeria as we came, which is together, SS/SE.

I'm not against your NDR, but its a known fact that your region contains a significant numbers of Igboid group. Those group must be given the opportunity to decide their future. You cannot just annexed them to your dream republic, because FG gave you advantage by carving them into your region. And, it will make more sense if you restrict your chants to your ethnic group alone.
