I wonder if it also relates to the age at first shave, the theory being that if you start in early adolescence and do so regularly thereafter you are less likely to develop skin irritation as opposed to leaving your whiskers for a few years before starting. Just a thought.

Speaking as one of military background who came of age in the military and never had the luxury of growing a beard or keeping long hair till date. I saw relatively older colleagues struggle with clean shaves because they started late?

The razor blade is still in existence and both young and adults are still using it with shaving​ cream.

Magic shaving powder does the trick for me
