What if our neighbours and other African countries considered us hostile, and form alliace with the US.? (This will give the US and her allies the leverage to station troops and equipments in Ghana, Cameron, Benin Republic and Niger. Just like in eastern Europe, against the Russians).

India and Pakistan do not provide steady power supply to their citizens, have problems with terrorism, poverty, corruption, underdevelopment etc, yet have nuclear weapons, and no one is laughing at them. SO YOU'VE SAID NOTHING.

What would make Nigeria start a nuclear weapons programme is if another African country like Egypt, South Africa, Morocco, or Algeria started one. That would immediately present a threat to Nigeria. God knows we have the scientists to do the job.
