freeze001:How did 13% derivation come about? How did OMPADEC now NDDC come about? How did the Ministry of Nigerdelta Affairs come about? A lot of these things have Nigerdelta elite involved, what did they do with it? The primary constituency that is meant to benefit from the Local Content Act is the Nigerdelta, what have they done with it. Oil companies usually pay 'Community Development Levies' to communities, what have they done with it? Forever looking for free money without doing positive things. |

maclatunji:Exactlywhy should external characters decide the percentage of revenue to be allocated to the owners of resources? How much does Anambra or Rivers receive from the exploitation of limestone and precious metals like gold in Nigeria? |

freeze001:You are contradicting yourself. Our laws say the federal government owns minerals. The state governments own the land. I am sure people like you are quick to scream Rule of Law. You want to change the status quo, work on achieving constitutional reform. The solution cannot be criminality. Anyway, I blame our governments over the years that have not laid down the law. |

freeze001:Most of you make ret@rd@d statements in public as if stup!dity is a birthright, how do people own resources? How many niger deltans put oil under their feet? because there is air under your nose then the atmosphere becomes yours for the taking? I don't get why we celebrate inanities in this country. The Niger deltans bomb FG's investments in their region, very few that belongs to the states are either sold or mismanaged. So far the 13% rent, NDDC, Amnesty, Ministry of Niger delta are more than enough for people who doesn't have any serious investment in that region. Except lulu Briggs, Ajumogobia and very few Niger deltans, they never invest their money to explore the so called resources. If the people of Niger delta invested their money, will they blow it up?? I have been to several Barite mining fields in the north, majority of their investors are Igbos, in fact the Nassarawa barite field is controlled majorly by Igbos, same as the Gboko mining fields, yet you don't ever hear the northerners agitating for whatever because they understand that investment cost is an integral part of resource exploitation. Don't jump out of your cave to make ignorant statements, I am beginning to see loads of daft females on this forum, i will tell you that in conflict, women are the biggest losers, after inciting hate through your stup!d statements, go and ask the women at the Borno IDP how they are faring in war situation, s!lly @rse!! |

Flyingngel:What you just said now is a direct deviate from what you posted earlier. I salute your courage for that reply. GEJ or not, we must move forward. We cannot continue this way, blame GEJ forever nothing will come out of it. My groose here is that we voted in a government that promised us greater change yet nothing happens. GEJ govt never delved into Ogoni land clean up, but the present govt did. Yet nothing in sight. If the people of ND rise up to protest govt's insincerity, why blame them? |

Nigeria should know that if the first version fail, the second can never fail. The second version will knock Nigeria down completely. The time is so ripe that at this time nothing can stop it. They have used dialogue as their delay tactics which can not work for Nigeria again against them. |

maclatunji:It is the responsibility of the FGN to protect its citizens. We do not run a regional government in Nigeria. The FG has a far higher stake in the resources accruing from the Niger-delta than the so-called elders. Let the FG take the responsibility of developing the region or back-off their resources. So we can beam our searchlight on the elders. |
